Devastated family pay tribute to 'loving mum' who was tragically found dead
The devastated family of a "loving" mum who was found dead at a lake in Oakmere have paid tribute to her. Rachel Booth, also known as Rachel Langley, was reported missing from the Barnton area of Northwich, in Cheshire, on Saturday July 19, by her family. Following extensive appeals and searches in the area, she was sadly found dead at a lake in Oakmere on Monday July 21. Her death is not being treated as suspicious by the police. Following her death, Rachel's family said: 'As a family we would also like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the services and business that supported Cheshire Police and their officers during the search for Rachel. 'Rachel, who was known to us as Helena, was a cherished member of our family. She was a guiding light whose strength, love, and devotion touched us all. A body found in a Cheshire lake has been formally identified as that of Rachel Booth, Cheshire Police confirmed this morning (July 22). Police shared the tragic update after her body was found at a watersports park in Oakmere on Monday. The 38-year-old was captured on CCTV in the Sandiway Garage petrol station on the A556 at around 3.50am, with police believing she had then travelled to the Oakmere area. Her death is not being treated as suspicious. Rachel Booth was reported missing on Saturday after last being seen in the Barnton area of Northwich In a further statement issued today, a Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "A body found in a lake in Oakmere has been formally identified as that of Rachel Booth. "Rachel's family continue to be supported by specialist officers from Cheshire Police and they ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time." Cheshire Police previously stated there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Rachel's death. A file has been prepared for the coroner, with an inquest likely to follow at a later date.
