Pubs in Newport and Gwent set for music-filled weekend

The Funky Duck Pub & Restaurant in Caldicot is hosting its much-loved Caribbean Karaoke Party on Friday, July 25, starting at 9 pm. The pub promises an unforgettable night extending until 2 am. On Saturday, July 26, various events are lined up. The Three Tuns in Chepstow will see the Church Mice band perform from 9 pm. Known for their lively performances, the band promises a night of dancing and merriment. In Pontypool, The Cellar Bar will host ZF3 from 9 pm to 11 pm. The band is expected to entertain with their live music. The Castleway Industrial Estate in Caldicot will be buzzing with the July Taproom Party. The event, starting at 5.30 pm, will feature food, drinks, and music. The organisers said: "The end of the month means party time! "Come down to the taproom on the 26th of July for an evening of delicious food, smashing drinks, and banging music." The party promises an exciting night with the debut of Wasting Light, a cover band guaranteed to get attendees moving. The Keralan Karavan, voted Wales's best street food of 2024, will make a return, serving their popular South Indian street food burgers. However, with limited space for 100 attendees, it is advised to book tickets in advance. The Sally in Pontypool is set to host a karaoke night from 8 pm to 11 pm on Saturday. At The Blinkin' Owl in Cwmbran, the acoustic duo Andy and Lee from Chaser will perform for the first time from 9 pm. Entry is free with several drink offers available. The Newport Rugby Club will host the Racked & Tapped Beer Festival from 12 pm onwards. The festival will offer over 25 cask ales, traditional ciders, craft keg beers, lager, and a gin, Pimms, and fizz bar. Street food will be available, and the event will feature live music throughout the day and night. The organisers said: "Whether you're a real ale enthusiast, a casual sipper, or just here for the music and food, Racked & Tapped delivers a full-on festival experience in a relaxed, welcoming setting." Finally, the Waterloo Inn in Nash will see Kaysha Louvain perform from 8 pm. This will be her first gig at the pub, promising a night of soulful voice, catchy originals, and feel-good vibes. The organisers said: "We're thrilled to welcome the sensational Kaysha Louvain for her very first gig at the Waterloo! "With her soulful voice, catchy originals, and feel-good vibes, Kaysha's set to light up the evening and win some new fans. "Come down, grab a drink, and get ready for a night of brilliant live music — you won't want to miss this one!" With such a variety of events, weekend plans are surely sorted for Gwent residents.
