Three-month programme for youths to be held from July 20 in Raichur
The Raichur City Corporation, with the collaboration of the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, has been holding a three-month programme—Yuva Janareegagi Nagara: Nagarakkagi Yuvakaru (City for Youths: Youths for City)—in Raichur from July 20 to October 10. The programme aims to keep the youth positively energetic. During the event, different varieties of games, competitions, and communication with administration programmes will be organised. The Minister for Medical Education and District In charge Sharan Prakash Patil released the calendar of events in Raichur on Friday. The first event will be organised at the sports stadium on July 20 as 100 youths will be expected to participate in trekking activities and winners will be felicitated with prizes.

Raichur fort illumination to be completed by end of July
The work of illuminating the historical fort at Raichur is all set to be completed by July 20. The district administration and the Raichur City Corporation have jointly taken up the initiative. On July 15, Deputy Commissioner Nitish K. and Corporation Commissioner Jubin Mohapatra inspected the preparations. Members of the team from the technical division of the corporation informed the officials that 20 beam lamps had been installed at a distance of 30 metres each. 'There is also a plan to light up the route from Basaveshwar Circle to the central bus stand, which is close to the fort,' the team members explained. The authorities intend to make the fort more beautiful with colourful illumination, and also spread awareness on social issues among the people through a sound and light show on national and State festivals, like Independence Day, Republic Day and Kannada Rajyotsava. Leksa Lighting Technologies Private Limited has bagged the contract to install around 400 beam-moving lights in the proposed areas. The work is likely to be completed in the next 10 days.
