Visakhapatnam: Andhra University (AU) alumni association will establish regional chapters in foreign countries, said AU vice-chancellor Prof GP Rajasekhar. He inaugurated the exit engagement evening (E³) programme jointly organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and AU on the beach road. "All foreign students have become an integral part of AU and India. I urge the AU alumni abroad to work towards enhancing the reputation of the university overseas," he said. ICCR scholarship division director Sanjiv Vedi said that foreign students who complete their education at AU and return to their countries carry Indian values with them. "This programme adds further value to the friendship between India and various countries. I encourage the graduating students to raise awareness about ICCR's services among students in their countries to benefit more people. ICCR provides scholarships necessary for foreign students' education, which is a unique and diverse initiative," said Sanjiv. AU registrar Prof EN Dhanamjaya Rao said that over 1,100 foreign students from 59 countries are pursuing their education at AU. He congratulated the foreign students for choosing Andhra University and assured them that they would receive a quality education at AU.

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Rajasekhar on Saturday said that the AU alumni associations abroad would be formed soon. He was speaking at Exit-Engagement-Evening (E3) organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in association with Andhra University, at the AU Convention Centre here on Saturday (June 28). Prof. Rajasekhar said that more than 1,000 students from more than 50 countries are studying at the AU. He said that the ICCR is happy with AU for providing a safe and secure environment and quality education to foreign students. He said that steps are being taken to form AU alumni associations abroad, where alumni can come together and work for the welfare of the institutions and enhance the name and reputation of the university. ICCR Director (Scholarships) Sanjay Vedi said that the university students are returning to their home country with the true spirit of Indian culture. He urged the students to promote AU pride in their countries.

Brihaspathi Tech to set up CCTV manufacturing facility in Hyd with Rs 70 cr investment

Hyderabad, June 26 (UNI) Hyderabad-based Brihaspathi Technologies Limited, a AI surveillance and security solutions provider, is establishing a new 72,000 sq ft CCTV manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 70 crores in Hyderabad, which is expected to be operational by December end this year. "Currently, we have one unit in Patancheru, outskirts of the city, where we are doing a small assembling. However, this new dedicated facility capacity of 2.5 lakh devices per month, would concentrate on cameras and IoT devices," the company Managing Director Rajasekhar Papolu said at a press conference here today. "We successfully deployed cameras along the border of India-Bangladesh and India-Pakistan," he said, adding "we have successfully raised USD 10 million in funding from foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and others and this capital infusion will fuel the company's expansion efforts, including the establishment of a new facility". The FIIs funding is from two companies from Mauritius and the UAE, he informed, adding that they have secured a major single order worth about Rs 100 crores from Maharashtra state government for installing of cameras in all bus stations. Without disclosing the specific amount to raise, Rajasekhar said that they are going for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the next financial year (2026-27) and the proceeds from the IPO will be utilised to strengthen its R&D capabilities, expand manufacturing facilities and advance AI-driven solutions. "70-80 per cent of our products are indigenous and some parts only imported from Taiwan and Korea," he said, adding, that to date, the company has deployed over 1.2 million CCTV cameras across India. "We have a vision to multiply our turnover," he said. "In the past three years, every year, we have been doubling our turnover and we have a strong order book of Rs 300 crores currently". "We are anticipating a 30 per cent growth in revenue during the current financial year against Rs 204 crore in the previous year," he informed. The company has a robust team of over 300 professionals at an average age of just 35 years and a pan-India presence through GST-registered offices in 19 states. He said the company is planning to hire over 400 additional employees to support its mission of delivering world-class, Made-in India AI-based security solutions. Its portfolio includes high-profile installations such as surveillance systems for the Border Security Force (BSF) along the international border, election monitoring for the Election Commission of India, AI-based classroom monitoring systems, wildlife and national park surveillance, and exam control room solutions across various states. In the past, Brihaspathi Technologies has achieved a historic milestone by deploying 64,000 CCTV cameras across 19 states in a single day for the NEET examination. With the integration of AI and rising public awareness, the industry is expected to grow at a double-digit CAGR over the next five years, offering substantial opportunities for domestic manufacturers and solution providers, he added. Vijayawada: Strengthening the aquaculture ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh demands active private sector participation and innovation," said B Rajasekhar, special chief secretary, AHDD & fisheries department, at a national conference on fisheries and aquaculture organised by CII-FACE in Vijayawada. In his keynote address, Rajasekhar emphasised that private sector-led investments in technology, infrastructure, and value chain integration are crucial to overcome bottlenecks, expand capacity, and connect farmers to markets. "We must encourage innovation, reduce inefficiencies, and build forward linkages if we are to scale up the sector sustainably," he added. Themed "Fostering sustainable growth & competitiveness in fisheries and aquaculture," the conference brought together industry leaders, govt officials, and development organisations. Discussions centred on growth strategies, conservation, and innovations in marine, brackish water, and inland fisheries. Rama Shankar Naik, commissioner of fisheries, highlighted the state's efforts to modernise cold chains and logistics. "Our policy framework welcomes long-term private investment," he noted. Rajasekhar Reinstated as Aija Municipal Engineer After Suspension Revoked

Gadwal: Rajasekhar, who has been serving as the Municipal Assistant Engineer (MAE) in the Aija Municipality of Jogulamba Gadwal district, has been reinstated into his official duties. He was previously suspended on May 20 for alleged negligence in the execution of his duties. However, after a thorough review of the explanation and supporting documentation submitted by Mr. Rajasekhar, the District Collector and District Magistrate, Mr. B.M. Santosh, IAS, issued orders on June 20 revoking the suspension. The reinstatement has been made in accordance with the provisions of the Telangana Civil Services Rules, 1991. The official order clearly states that Mr. Rajasekhar should immediately rejoin duty and perform his responsibilities with sincerity and commitment. It was also mentioned that the period of suspension would be treated as leave. Following this development, Mr. Rajasekhar is set to resume his responsibilities at the Aija Municipality. Local officials have expressed optimism that the reinstatement of the Assistant Engineer will lead to a renewed momentum in development works within the municipal limits. They believe this administrative continuity will contribute positively to the ongoing civic and infrastructure projects in the region.
