Rajasthan's Mehak Sharma, Jahnavi Meena, Nikita Bansal win medals at 2nd Wushu Sanda Asian Cup 2025 in China

Jaipur: Rajasthan's Mehak Sharma, Jahnavi Meena and Nikita Bansal won medals at the 2nd Wushu Sanda Asian Cup 2025 which concluded at Jilin, China on Monday. Mehak, who hails from Sinta village of Bundi near Kota, won the silver medal, while Jaipur's Jahnavi and Nikita Bansal of Sri Ganganagar bagged bronze medals each. Vice-president of Wushu Federation of India and Rajasthan Wushu Association president Hiranand Kataria said that Mehak finished runner-up while representing the country in the 75-kg weight category. The daughter of a farmer, Mehak has won gold medals in four national competitions this year including National Games, Khelo India and All India University meet. Besides Rajasthan Wushu Association president Hiranand Kataria, Indian team coach Rajesh Kumar Taylor, Kota District Wushu president Shiv Bhagwan Godara and coach Suraj Gautam congratulated all the three medal winners on their achievement. Before the China competition, all the Indian players took training for 15 days in the Patiala camp in Punjab. After that, they also trained in China in June. The Indian team had 17 players and 10 support staff. Among them were three girls from Rajasthan. Mehak got silver, and Jahnavi Meena of Jaipur and Nikita Bansal of Sri Ganganagar got bronze medals.

Rajasthan's players win 8 medals in Moscow Star Wushu Championship; Vihanraj Saxena bags gold

Jaipur: Rajasthan wushu players excelled in the Moscow Star Wushu Championship held in Russia recently by grabbing eight medals including a gold and four silver. Vihanraj Saxena was the top performer with a gold medal in the 45-kg weight category. Sunil claimed a silver medal in the 65-kg weight category, while Tanvi Dadhich finished runner-up in the 39-kg weight category, stated a press release issued by Hiranand Kataria, vice-president, Indian Wushu Association and president, Rajasthan Wushu Association (RWA). Kataria added that Neelam Chaudhary won silver medal in traditional long weapon and bronze in another event. Rishabh Parihar annexed the silver medal in a traditional event. Chhabi Chaudhary and Amit Chaudhary pocketed bronze medals in the 75-kg and 90-kg weight category, respectively. On the medals won by the players, Vinod Singh Shekhawat, chief patron, RWA, KC Ghumaria, chairman, RWA, Mamta Verma, general secretary, RWA, Vijay Singh Shekhawat, treasurer, and other RWA officials including Rajaram Meel, Gopal Saini, Rajkumar Sharma, Bhagwan Sahay Jatva and coach Rajesh Kumar Taylor congratulated all the medal winners.
