Two Dhar youths arrested with cannabis

Indore: The crime branch of Indore police on Saturday arrested two youths from Dhar with 2.475kg of cannabis. The contraband, valued at approximately Rs 50,000 in the international market, was allegedly being sold to addicts in Indore after being sourced at lower prices. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said that acting on specific intelligence, the duo was intercepted. During questioning, the accused, 20-year-old Zeeshan Khan and 19-year-old Rehan Khan, confessed to buying cannabis at cheap rates and selling it in the city to drug users at higher prices for quick monetary gains. A case was registered against Zeeshan, who installs and repairs ceiling fans, and Rehan, a mechanic by profession, under section 8/20 of the NDPS Act.

Indore: Indore crime branch arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly smuggling MD drugs into the city. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said the accused, identified as Abhimanyu Rajput, a resident of Sonkatch in Dewas district, was found in possession of 12.68 grams of the banned synthetic drugs. During a routine inspection under Bhandari bridge, a police team noticed a suspicious man, who appeared nervous upon seeing a govt vehicle. He was immediately stopped and questioned. During questioning, the man revealed his identity and confessed to purchasing drugs at low rates and selling them at higher prices to addicts in the city. Rajput, who works in the transport segment of event management industry and has studied up to Class 12, admitted to being involved in the narcotics trade for financial gains. A case was registered against him under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act.

INDORE: Crime Branch of Indore police on Saturday arrested two youths from Dhar for smuggling cannabis in the city and recovered 2.475 kg of the illegal drug from their possession. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said acting on specific intelligence, the Crime Branch team was conducting routine checks near Chaitanya Hanuman Mandir on MR 04 Road when they noticed two individuals behaving suspiciously upon seeing a government vehicle. The duo was intercepted and later identified as Zeeshan Khan, 20, and Rehan Khan, 19, both residents of Dhar. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to buying cannabis at cheap rates and selling it in the city to drug users at higher prices for quick monetary gains. Zeeshan, who works in ceiling fan installation and repair, and Rehan, a mechanic by profession, were caught red-handed with the contraband and a motorcycle used in the operation. A case has been registered against them at Crime Branch police station under section 8/20 of the NDPS Act. Further legal proceedings are underway based on the investigation.

Indore: Crime branch of Indore police on Friday arrested a 61-year-old man, who was absconding for three years in a major case involving fake loan passbooks used to secure bail from courts. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said that the accused, Ramesh Kalota, a resident of Barodi Hatod was part of a gang that created forged loan documents to fraudulently secure bail for individuals involved in serious crimes. With this arrest, the total number of accused held in the case has reached 37. During the arrest, the police recovered three fake loan passbooks and a notarised stamp related to a lost passbook from Ramesh's possession. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was operating this racket for nearly a decade, either providing fake sureties or posing as a surety himself to facilitate bail for several accused in criminal cases. Earlier, in a related development, another accused Kedar Dabi, who was already arrested in the same case was found to have used a fake loan passbook again to secure bail for Saloni Arora, an accused in the journalist Kalpesh Yagnik suicide case. Both were subsequently booked separately and arrested by the crime branch. A specially formed SIT team led by ACP Devendra Singh Dhurve was tracing absconding accused and curbing such fraudulent operations in the city. As part of this continuing operation Ramesh has now been booked under IPC sections 420, 467, 468, 471, and 34 at the crime branch police station. The police are also pursuing legal procedures to have the bails obtained through forged documents invalidated. Investigations have so far linked Ramesh to bail arrangements in several cases across different police stations including Raoji Bazaar, Tilak Nagar, Sanwer, Khajrana, Annapurna, Sadar Bazaar, Kanadia, and GRP Indore, with suspects such as Sumit, Ravi, Ashok, Dharmendra, Vipin, Vishnu, Dheeraj, Vijay, Subhash, and Monu benefiting from his fraudulent surety services.
