Over 200 students from govt college secure ranks in PGCETs

Rajamahendravaram: The Government Degree College (Autonomous) here has once again demonstrated its academic excellence, with more than 200 students securing ranks in various postgraduate entrance examinations for the academic year 2025–26. Students from the college achieved notable success in AP ICET, APPGCET, CUCET, and AP EDCET. S Komali from the Mathematics department secured the 3rd rank in the AP EDCET-2025. In AP ICET, over 60 students secured ranks within the top 1,000, including ranks 153, 209, 261, and 263. In APPGCET-2025, more than 150 students earned commendable ranks across various departments such as English, Telugu, Commerce, Economics, Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Geology, Mathematics, Computer Science and Geography. Principal Dr Ramachandra RK congratulated all the successful students and appreciated the faculty for their outstanding mentoring and academic support. This achievement is attributed to the special postgraduate coaching classes organised during the summer vacation, where faculty members extended dedicated academic support and mentoring. Vice-Principal Dr Sriram Murthy and PG coordinator Dr B Mallikarjuna also extended their best wishes to the achievers. The Heads of Departments expressed pride in the students' achievements and attributed their success to consistent preparation,disciplined study habits, and the college's academic environment.

Rajamahendravaram: Inline with the directives of the State government, Swarna Andhra- Swachh Andhra initiative was organised with great enthusiasm on Saturday at Government Autonomous College, Rajahmundry, under the leadership of Principal Dr Ramachandra RK. As part of the programme, a rally, on the theme 'Neeru – Meeru', was conducted from Lalacheruvu to the college campus. Students and faculty actively participated in the rally, raising awareness about water conservation through impactful slogans and enthusiastic involvement. Following the rally, a gathering was held at METCAF hostel, where Principal Ramachandra addressed students and faculty. He emphasised the importance of water conservation and stressed the collective responsibility to safeguard natural resources. Students displayed informative and creative posters as part of the awareness campaign. A plantation drive was also carried out in the Miyawaki forest area, promoting green practices. Swachh Andhra pledge was administered to the students by faculty members Vijayashanthi and Durga Lakshmi, reinforcing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and sustainability. The event was effectively coordinated by SASA Coordinator G Raviteja along with committee members. Subhashini Devi, Lt Isub Basha, Dr Mallikarjuna, Muralikrishna, Dr Bhavani, and Dr Anusha participated.

Rajahmundry: Government Autonomous College celebrated World Red Cross Day on Thursday. Addressing the gathering, Additional SP Subbaraju lauded the students who actively participate in service initiatives. He further elaborated on the crucial skills needed to effectively navigate critical situations, emphasising preparedness and resilience. Principal Dr Ramachandra RK stressed the profound significance of cultivating a service-oriented mindset. He eloquently spoke about how such an outlook nurtures and enriches an individual's sense of humanity, fostering empathy and compassion. Dr J Suresh, a member of the Red Cross Committee explained the commendable efforts undertaken by the organisation. He shed light on their vital contributions to society through blood donation drives, their unwavering support for individuals during emergency situations. Principal Dr Ramachandra RK extended his appreciation to the Red Cross Coordinator G Raviteja for his meticulous organisational efforts. In a gesture of encouragement and recognition, the principal presented Red Cross volunteers with T-shirts, symbolising their commitment to the noble cause.

Rajamahendravaram: The Government College (Autonomous) in Rajamahendravaram organised a job fest in collaboration with 41 companies and Skill Development department here on Friday. As many as 1,156 students from various degree colleges and institutions participated under the Nodal Resource Centre's jurisdiction. In a press release, Principal Dr Ramachandra RK announced that 407 students secured job placements during the fest. Rajamahendravaram City MLA Adireddy Srinivas attended the job fest and handed over appointment letters to the selected candidates. Addressing the gathering, the MLA called the students to make the best use of the opportunities they had earned, stressing the importance of determination and professionalism in today's competitive job market. The principal congratulated the selected students and stated that the event stands as a significant milestone in the college's ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. Vice-Principal Sriramamurthy, heads of departments, Skill Development DSDO VDG Murali, JKC Coordinator Dr B Harinath Reddy, Placement Trainer M Kiran Kumar, and members of JKC and Job Fest Organising Committees participated.
