Overflowing Drains, Mosquito Menace: BJP Flags Neglect in Jogulamba Gadwal Village

Gadwal: A major sanitation crisis has been brought to light in TT Doddi village under Aija Mandal, Jogulamba Gadwal district. The visit, led by BJP Mandal President Gopalakrishna, exposed severe issues such as clogged drainage systems, stagnant wastewater, and unbearable stench—all of which are causing distress to local residents, especially school children. Speaking during the inspection, BJP's former District President Ramachandra Reddy expressed serious concern over the deteriorated state of hygiene in the village. He observed that silt-filled drains and blocked canals were causing wastewater to overflow onto the roads, turning them into breeding grounds for mosquitoes and sources of foul odors. He noted that a government school is located adjacent to this unsanitary area, putting the health and comfort of school children at significant risk. Reddy accused the current state government of neglecting Panchayati Raj governance and failing to empower village-level administrations. 'The Panchayati Raj Act has been completely ignored in Telangana. As a result, welfare schemes and development programs are not reaching rural populations effectively,' he stated. The BJP leaders stressed that villages across the state are facing similar sanitation and development challenges due to administrative apathy. They called for the immediate conduct of local body elections, stating that only elected local representatives can ensure proper governance and cleanliness in villages. Without timely elections, they warned, rural citizens would continue to suffer from these avoidable hardships. The visit concluded with a public appeal demanding swift governmental intervention and the restoration of basic civic amenities in TT Doddi. Those present at the program included Gadwal contested MLA Balgera Shiva Reddy, Pradeep Swamy, Narasanna Goud, Shashi Kumar, Giddanna, Gopalu, Shankaram, and numerous village residents. Key Demands: Immediate clearance and repair of village drainage systems Action to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds Timely conduct of local body elections Effective implementation of sanitation and development programs at the village level. The call for action reflects growing discontent among rural communities over government inaction and highlights the urgent need for infrastructural reforms in Telangana's villages.

SC declines to intervene in Bugga mutt lands case

Vijayawada: The Supreme Court on Monday declined to intervene with the orders of Andhra Pradesh high court on the Bugga Matam (Bugga mutt) lands issue. However, the apex court directed the parties involved in the litigation to maintain status quo for two weeks. Former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy had moved the Supreme Court, challenging the high court's orders. Tirupati revenue officials earlier issued notices to the YSRCP leader to remove the encroachments on mutt lands following a three-man committee constituted by the state govt confirmed that a portion of the land was under his illegal occupation. The notices were challenged before the high court, contending that the officials did not follow the procedure in issuing the notices. The high court earlier declined to entertain the petition as an efficacious alternative remedy was available in the form of the endowments tribunal. However, the court granted status quo for 15 days and stayed the notices to allow for approaching the tribunal. Challenging the orders, Ramachandra Reddy moved the Supreme Court. However, the SC bench of Justices K V Viswanathan and N Kotiswar Singh declined to interfere with the HC order and suggested going for an appeal before the high court division bench. Granting a status quo for two weeks, the Supreme Court suggested the high court decide the matter based on merits.

Petition Submitted to Ensure Smooth Implementation of PM Vishwakarma Yojana in Jogulamba Gadwal

Gadwal: Former district BJP president Ramachandra Reddy today submitted a formal petition to District Industrial General Manager Ramalingeshwar Goud, urging effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana in Jogulamba Gadwal district headquarters. The petition highlighted several challenges being faced by beneficiaries of the scheme in the district. Under the central government's Vishwakarma Yojana, various traditional artisans and craftsmen have registered online in Jogulamba Gadwal district. Some beneficiaries have even received training certificates. However, many are encountering severe difficulties in accessing financial assistance from banks, which is a crucial component of the scheme. In addition, complaints have emerged from several mandals where village secretaries are reportedly not assisting applicants properly, often stating that they have not received login access. This lack of administrative support is causing delays and confusion among applicants. Taking these issues into consideration, Ramachandra Reddy appealed to the District Industrial General Manager to ensure that the scheme is implemented smoothly and reaches all eligible beneficiaries without bureaucratic hurdles. The submission of the petition was accompanied by a group of prominent BJP leaders and supporters. Among those present were: Baligera Shiva Reddy, the BJP candidate who contested from Gadwal District OBC Morcha President Deva Das Senior BJP leaders Sanjeev Reddy and Dabbileti Narasimha Mandal presidents Gopal Krishna, Seshi, and Nagaraju, along with other local party activists and supporters. The group emphasized that if such grassroots-level issues are not resolved promptly, the very purpose of the Vishwakarma Yojana — which is aimed at empowering traditional artisans and boosting their livelihoods — would be defeated. Local leaders requested authorities to initiate coordination meetings with banks and village officials, provide technical support, and conduct awareness programs to facilitate the smooth implementation of the scheme. The BJP leaders concluded their representation with a call for immediate intervention from higher authorities, ensuring transparency and efficiency in delivering the benefits promised under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.
