Actor Soundarya Sharma, who was last seen in 'Housefull 5', says she is manifesting her future projects. In an exclusive conversation with India Today, the actor discussed the genres she's drawn to, the directors she hopes to collaborate with, and her long-standing admiration for Bollywood's King Khan - Shah Rukh opened up about her dream work and shared that she wants to do a good rom-com. She said, 'There are so many dream roles that I am manifesting. There are no ifs and buts for any role, because I am an actor and I should be okay and happy to do whatever work comes my way right now. Having said that I would love to do great films - comedy, romance - because I am a die-hard romantic at heart.'advertisementShe continued to explain, 'Romance and love are attached to everyone's heart. It is important in everyone's life, and it should happen.' Along with comedy and love stories, action also excites her. She added, 'I would love to do some action films. I believe I am very good at action." When asked who she would love to be paired with on screen, her answer was instant - Shah Rukh Khan. 'Yes, for sure, an action film with him would be great. When I met him once, I didn't think he would remember this, but he was the first one to tell me, 'Get your pictures done.' I was thrilled. I posted that picture on Instagram with him when I met him. It's because of him and his success story that I wanted to be an actor," she shared recalled how it was SRK's journey that gave her the courage to pursue her own dreams. 'I thought, yes, I can go to Bombay. I had the courage. Of course, I didn't listen to his lectures or TED talks back then, but eventually, he became such a success story, and we loved all his songs. That's why we look up to him," Sharma she briefly shared screen space with the superstar in an ad, she said, 'I'm greedy. I want more. I want a legit film.'On her bucket list, another wish was already checked off. 'Working with Akshay Sir was one of my goals; he was absolutely amazing to work with," she smiled. She added, "Not only actors, I am also looking forward to working with Imtiaz Ali, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, James Cameron, and Raju Hirani. Their storytelling is something out of this world. Actor Soundarya Sharma, who appeared in Housefull 5, has finally responded to criticism surrounding the portrayal of female characters in the recently released film. In a conversation with DNA India, the Bigg Boss 16 alum seemed caught off guard when asked about the objectification of women and the focus on looks over substance in the slapstick comedy. 'I don't see that, I don't see any of it," she replied, visibly surprised. 'Pata nahi, aap bol rahe ho toh… Honestly, I haven't gotten time to sit and read all of these because I've been busy counting numbers and celebrating. I think the makers would be the right people to answer this, because an actor is just part of someone else's vision. It's made in a very light way and with heart. I don't know kaun hai yeh log jo iss tarah baat kar rahe hai," she added, deflecting the criticism. Touching upon the criticism of the outfits worn by female actors in the film, Soundarya reasoned, 'I feel it's not the first time someone has worn something like that. It's also a reflection of society, not that they've forced anything. Actors have worn everything from bikinis to sarees before. Aisa kuch samajh mein mere ko nahi aa raha hai." Despite her defense, the internet didn't hold back. A clip of the interview surfaced on Reddit, with users debating whether she was downplaying the issue or simply toeing the industry line. Actor Soundarya Sharma, who was recently seen in Housefull 5, has reacted to a question about female objectification in the film. Speaking with DNA India, Soundarya was also asked about the focus in film being more on the looks of female characters rather than the substance. A surprised Soundarya said that she doesn't "see any of it". I think makers would be the right people because an actor is just subjective to someone's vision. It's made in a very light way and with heart.
