Cheaters are indeed not spared in Esports tournaments, generally getting banned or penalized. But Epic Games went one step further and filed a lawsuit against that player, and finally their legal battle has come to a conclusion.
Fortnite wins legal battle again official tournament cheater
The official Twitter handle of Fortnite Competitive has recently announced that Epic Games has won the legal fight against the player who cheated in one of Fortnite's official tournaments, last year.
As the judge has ruled in the favor of Epic Games, the player needs to pay $175,000 as fine. The company has also promised that this huge amount will be donated to the charity. It is also stated that the player is also banned from playing Fortnite or taking part in any tournament forever.
This all began when this unnamed player (Epic Games didn't reveal the name) cheated in one of Fortnite's official tournaments like FNCS Divisional Cups, Ranked Cups, or any other.
According to Fortnite Competitive, this player used cheating software and hardware in the tournament and used multiple accounts to avoid getting caught.
However, nothing worked for the player as the tournament officials soon found out about all these, and Epic Games later on sued that player. However, despite happening so much, that player simply ignored the lawsuit. But now Fortnite must be relieved as the player will no longer be in the game.

We usually see many developers are pretty casual about such a serious issue like cheating, leaving the matter to anti-cheat softwares only. But Epic's response to this huge offence by that player is pretty commendable.
