Good Morning Britain viewers demand apology from Kate Garraway after 'rude' snub directed at 'unimpressed' ITV co-star
Good Morning Britain viewers have demanded an apology from Kate Garraway after a 'rude' snub directed at her ITV co-star. Friday's instalment of the daily news programme saw Kate, 58, present with co-host Robert Rinder, 47. As the pair covered the top stories of the day, Kate introduced reporter Gargy Patel who was broadcasting live from Westminster. However, the presenter made the mistake of accidentally calling Gargy the wrong name, and instead referred to her as her colleague Ranvir Singh at the end of the segment. She said: 'Ranvir, thank you very much indeed.' The blunder didn't appear to be noticed by those in the ITV set but viewers were quick to point it out on social media. One penned on X: 'Oops! Kate just called Gargy Patel, Ranvir by mistake.' Another added: 'Kate called her 'Ranvir' hmm she was not impressed. Apologise.' While someone else commented: '@GMB did Kate just call that reporter Ranvir on a purpose... Was she being rude?????' It comes after viewers were left 'wincing' as Kate Garraway made a 'disrespectful and insensitive' joke at the worst possible time. A previous episode of the ITV breakfast news show saw the presenter with co-host Adil Ray, 51, report a particularly sad story to viewers. It was about British grandmother Yvonne Ford, 59, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, who sadly died from rabies this week. Kate explained: 'Did you see this extraordinary story about a woman, she was scratched very slightly by a stray dog whilst on holiday in February, that long ago, in Morocco. 'It wasn't even a particularly bad one at the time. It didn't seem to be infected. Then two weeks ago, she started to feel very unwell, has now passed away.' Before making an ill-timed quip, she added: 'It's made people very conscious because rabies is something we don't think about very much. It is astonishing.' It came as she mentioned TV doctor Hilary Jones, 72, who often appears on the show for health and wellbeing segments. A previous episode of the ITV breakfast news show saw the presenter (pictured), with co-host Adil Ray, 51, report a particularly sad story to viewers She said: 'I mean, what the doctors say, if I can do my Dr Hilary at the moment for a bit, is make sure you get an inoculation. 'But also, if you have any kind of scratch from any kind of wild animal or animal abroad, get treatments right away, because then it can be stopped.' Rabies - which is passed on through injuries such as bites and scratches from an infected animal - is nearly always fatal. It typically takes between three to 12 weeks for symptoms to show but can also take longer in some cases. Viewers picked up on Kate's jokey reference to pretending to be Dr Hilary and felt the tone was not tasteful given the nature of the story. One wrote on X: 'Classy Kate cracking a rabies joke just after reporting on a rabies death.' Someone replied: 'Noticed that too - made me wince. So insensitive.'

Good Morning Britain slapped with 318 Ofcom complaints after 'disgusting' blunder during ITV war report
Good Morning Britain has been slapped with 318 Ofcom complaints after a blunder during an ITV war report. The complaints come after an incorrect map was broadcast on June 19 during coverage of the Israel conflict. A map displayed on the show depicted the Golan Heights to be part of Israel. However, the basaltic plateau is actually located in southwest Syria, along the border of Israel, Jordan and Lebanon. According to the Mirror, presenter Ranvir Singh introduced Richard Gaisford who was reporting live from Tel Aviv when the inaccurate map appeared on screen. The UK Government recognises the Golan Heights as occupied territory. Some viewers noticed the map and took to social media to share their thoughts. One penned on X: 'The Golan Heights is part of Syria, but #GMB continues to show it as part of Israel.' Another added: 'Disgusting 'reporting' from and total misinterpretation of Golan Heights.' The next day, according to the Mirror, reporter Sean Fletcher clarified the mistake. He said: 'Yesterday we showed a graphic map which included the Golan Heights as part of Israel. 'The UK government views the Golan Heights as occupied territory and does not recognise Israel's annexation of the land, and we are happy to clarify that.' It comes after Good Morning Britain viewers shared a lot of complaints as Martin Lewis replaced Richard Madeley this week. Typically, the ITV news programme features Susanna Reid and Richard as presenters, but on Wednesday's instalment, the consumer guru stepped up to host. Some viewers noticed the map and took to social media to share their thoughts. Susanna and Martin worked their way through the day's top stories but some watchers weren't best pleased about the shake-up. Many took to social media to share their thoughts on Martin co-hosting the show and one penned on X: 'Ruins my morning having to listen to Martin - time for Eamonn I think.' 'Martin Lewis with his shouty "do this" "do that" and jumping over furniture so early in the morning may just be too much for me,' another added. Someone else said: 'I just don't have the head for Martin Lewis at this time of the morning.' Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 from 6am and is available to stream on ITVX.

Good Morning Britain halted by ITV star as they share devastating news
Good Morning Britain was interrupted on Thursday morning as Ranvir Singh shared some heartbreaking breaking news after a wave of Iranian missile strikes hit Israel. During Thursday's edition of Good Morning Britain, Ranvir Singh relayed some heartbreaking news. Kate Garraway and Adil Ray set the stage with discussions on the upcoming heatwave but swiftly shifted focus to Ranvir for the breaking story. Responding to her colleague, Ranvir confirmed: "Yeah, indeed, thank you so much, Kate. "Breaking news that in a new wave of Iranian missile strikes, which have hit Israel in the last few hours, a major hospital in the city of Beersheba has suffered extensive damage, and buildings have been destroyed in Tel Aviv. "Meanwhile, Donald Trump has approved plans to attack Iran but has not made final decisions on whether to go ahead." Richard Gaisford then took over, reporting live amidst the devastation in Tel Aviv, showing viewers the damage in the streets, reports the Manchester Evening News. He said: "This is the world's largest diamond trading area. The missile alert started at breakfast time this morning, and you're looking at pictures now of the Holon district of Tel Aviv." He continued to describe the harrowing scene, adding: "Extensive damage throughout this city in the centre of Israel, we heard ballistic missiles flying over our heads. "The air defence systems were in action. Certainly, it seems Iran still has the ability to target Israel with its ballistic missiles, and at this point, Israel is not able to stop all of them." During the programme, Richard informed Ranvir that the recent strikes represented a 'really significant' assault, clarifying that the destruction visible behind him resulted from an earlier attack in the week. He elaborated: "This has been developing over the last few days, and it shows really at this stage that Iran is not yet done." Speculation had been circulating that perhaps Israeli forces had neutralised most missile sites. Richard pointed out: "That certainly doesn't appear to be the case that they are still able to launch and get their missile right into the heart of Israel." Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX.

GMB's Ranvir Singh styles a new hair look with Nobody's Child 'dress of summer'
The Good Morning Britain presenter is trying out a new look... Since appearing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, Ranvir Singh has won herself legions of fans who are keen to find out more about her outfits and looks. Thankfully, Ranvir is happy to oblige and regularly posts the details of her go-to brands to her Instagram page after her Good Morning Britain morning hosting slots. For her most recent look, Ranvir took to her socials to credit her look to Nobody's Child– and it happens to be one of the brand's best-selling dress styles that she's sporting. Wearing the Short Sleeve Starlight Midi Dress in the dark green colourway, the presenter looks incredibly youthful in the waist-cinching number – something her fans instantly noticed. "Love this dress, it suits you soo much. You look fab," pens one, while a second asks: "Love it! Is it heavy or lightweight for summer though?" It's a good question, and the answer is that this summer-ready update of the classic Starlight dress is perfect for both warm days and cooler evenings. Made from a lightweight, breathable fabric, it's designed to keep you cool and comfortable when temperatures rise. Soft gathering, gently puffed sleeves, and a neat row of covered buttons add some pretty detailing, while the panelled waist gives a very flattering fit. The A-line skirt skims the body without clinging, and with practical pockets and easy styling potential, it's a piece that takes very little styling skill to make look good. You can pick up Ranvir's dress for £89 in the dark green colourway. However, if you prefer brighter or neutral tones, there are 22 other shades and prints you can pick this dress up in to suit your taste. Our head of fashion Zoe owns the gingham colourway and wears it in every occasion she can! However, if you're looking for a look-for-less, you can also shop & Other Stories' Puff-Sleeve Midi Dress in Green, on sale for £49. While a lot of the focus is on Ranvir's enviable figure in the Nobody's Child piece, plenty of other commenters have also spotted something different about the star: her hair. It seems she's switching up her usual straight or blow-dried lengths for a youthful tousled, mermaid-like wave, which suits her to a tee. Celeb pal Katie Piper muses in the comments: "Love the hair." Another follower writes: "Loved your hair this morning - you look beautiful," with a third saying a similar: "Your hair looks so good!"
