APD has used various investigative techniques in an attempt to locate Neves, police said.
Due to efforts from community members, out-of-state organization Rapid Compassion Collective, which specializes in locating missing persons, was called to help in the investigation, the release said.
Rapid CC notified APD on Thursday that they had located a submerged vehicle in a section of Lytle Creek beneath Loop 322, the release said.
The vehicle was recovered and was identified as Neves's tan 2002 Oldsmobile Alero, police said. The body found inside the car matched Neves physical description at the time of his disappearance.
