Winnipeg receives shoutout from Lil Wayne in new song

(AP Photo/Chris Pizzello) Winnipeg has received a shoutout from some of the most popular rappers in the U.S. in their latest song. 'Tree,' the recently released single by Chance The Rapper featuring Lil Wayne and Smino, includes a shoutout to the city that's Made from What's Real roughly three minutes in. 'I'm cold as Winnipeg,' Lil Wayne raps over the beat, which samples the India Arie song 'Video.' The video has been viewed over 700,000 times since it was uploaded five days ago. Dishoom confirms it will open Glasgow restaurant this summer
The award-winning Indian Restaurant chain will open the doors to its second Scottish eatery on Nelson Mandela Place in the summer, Glasgow World reports. It will take over two units, one of which was previously occupied by Absurd Bird which closed suddenly in July 2022, and has a agreed a 20-year lease. "Feedback from many national operators who have prime sites in the city, put Glasgow in the top 10% of their UK bar and restaurant portfolios, measured by both turnover and profit. "Consequently, occupier demand for the very best F&B properties remain strong and we are already in discussions with a number of national brands who wish to open later this year." READ NEXT: Glasgow man scammed out of £3k to rogue trader capitalising on Grenfell disaster The Glasgow Times reported in November last year that Savills had submitted proposals to Glasgow City Council on behalf of AECR UK Investment I Limited to combine the ground floor and basement units at 3/11 Nelson Mandela Place within the former A-listed Glasgow Stock Exchange building. The plans were approved in February. Founded in 2010, Dishoom was designed to match the Irani cafes that were popular in Mumbai in the 1960s. Their first restaurant opened in Covent Garden and the company now operates 10 sites across the UK between Edinburgh, London, Birmingham and Manchester which often have diners queuing out the door to get a seat.
