Atmakur: Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha launched 'Suparipalana Tholi Adugu Door-to-Door TDP' campaign in Muttala village, Atmakur mandal on Wednesday, showcasing the TDP-led coalition government's achievements over the past year. Addressing party leaders and residents, she highlighted widespread public satisfaction across the constituency. Visiting households, Sunitha detailed welfare initiatives like pension hikes, free gas cylinders, Talli ki Vandhanam programme, job creation, and increased investments in the State. Residents' feedback was uploaded to 'My TDP App'. Sunitha inaugurated a safe drinking water plant in the village, supported by Greenko Rayala Wind Power Pvt. Ltd., urging responsible water use. At the village secretariat, she distributed Bengal gram seeds (LRG-105 and LRG-52 varieties) to farmers, encouraging pulse cultivation for profitability and advising against leaving lands barren due to past crop failures. She emphasised visible development in the constituency, with most long-pending projects nearing completion and road connectivity improved in nearly all villages. Welfare schemes are now reaching deserving beneficiaries despite previous administrative challenges, and genuine grievances will be addressed, she assured. At a review meeting in Atmakur, Sunitha instructed TDP cluster, unit, KSS, and booth in-charges to strengthen the door-to-door campaign. She urged them to inform every household about the government's efforts and future plans, and to use the My TDP app to collect and act on feedback effectively.

Minister for Industries and Commerce T.G. Bharath on Tuesday distributed NTR Bharosa pensions to beneficiaries in Swamireddy Nagar in Kurnool city. The Minister said that the government will fulfil its another poll promise of free bus to women in August. He said that the pensions will be distributed to elderly and disabled people at their doorstep on the first of every month. 'If the first of any month falls on a government holiday, we will distribute the pension one day in advance', he said. He said that the government has re-introduced Anna Canteens to provide quality food at just ₹5 and is also giving Thalliki Vandanam to all the children in a family. In Anantapur, District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V. participated in distribution of pensions and a plantation drive in Velugonda village of Uravakonda mandal. After giving away pensions to the elderly people, the Collector interacted with them and sought to know their problems. Villagers complained of lack of proper drinking water supply and the Collector assured to resolve the matter. He also laid foundation for construction of three additional tanks at the 'waste to wealth' plant and planted saplings there. The Collector found very few trees in the village and asked the locals to plant more trees as it would lead to rainfall and increase in groundwater levels. Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha distributed pensions to beneficiaries at their doorstep in Bukkacharla village. When the villagers told her that an electricity line is passing through a tank, Ms. Sunitha asked the electricity department officials to shift the line within a month. Minister for Roads and Building B.C. Janardhan Reddy distributed pensions in Gopal Nagar of Banaganapalle town while Minister for Minority Welfare N.M.D. Farooq distributed pensions in 36th ward of Nandyal town.

Ramagiri: The Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha stated that Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) are witnessing a new phase of development under the newly formed coalition government. On her visit to the Kasturba school in Ramagiri Mandal, the MLA inspected potential sites for the construction of additional school buildings, accompanied by officials and local leaders. She emphasized that the new buildings should be student-friendly and discussed the structural plans with the concerned authorities. Paritala Sunitha instructed officials to ensure immediate commencement of construction work, as the government has already sanctioned the required funds. Earlier, the MLA thoroughly reviewed the existing facilities in the school, including the dining and storage areas. She provided suggestions to the staff for improving certain areas. Speaking with the girl students, she encouraged them to stay focused on their education and to be cautious in all aspects of life. She particularly advised them to avoid excessive use of mobile phones and to stay alert when approached by strangers or individuals making deceptive promises. She urged students to report any suspicious incidents to their teachers. She also stressed the importance of sports in schools and suggested that teachers promote physical and mental well-being alongside academics. She further informed that additional building funds of ₹1.25 crore each have been sanctioned for Kasturba schools in Atmakur, Kurugunta, Kanaganapalli, Ramagiri, and Chennekothapalli. Construction work on these projects will begin soon, she said. Highlighting the government's commitment to education, she said, 'This is a government that does not hesitate to spend on the education of the poor.' Despite financial constraints, she noted, the government has allocated thousands of crores for initiatives like the Thalliki Vandhanam scheme. She added that even remote rural areas are now seeing significant progress in educational infrastructure.

Anantapur: District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V and Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha felicitated high-achieving students during the 'Shining Stars - 2025' programme held at GR Function Hall in Anantapur. Organised by the Department of Education, the event honored 10th and Intermediate toppers with medals, certificates, and ₹20,000 cheques each. Speaking at the event, the Collector emphasized that these shining stars should serve as an inspiration for their peers, encouraging all students to develop a passion for learning. He highlighted that students from Anantapur district had secured top ranks in state-level exams and praised their perseverance, especially those who overcame hardships like the loss of parents. He urged students to avoid distractions like mobile phones, stay physically active, and follow disciplined routines. He motivated them to dream big be it becoming software engineers, IAS or IPS officers, or CEOs and suggested that watching documentaries and following government updates on social media could be enriching. MLA Paritala Sunitha appreciated Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh for initiating the Shining Stars programme. She applauded the recognition given to students who scored exceptionally well in SSC and Intermediate exams, even under challenging circumstances. She encouraged girl students to compete equally with boys and strictly advised all students to stay away from mobile phone usage. A total of 184 SSC students and 35 Intermediate students were felicitated. The event concluded with a group photo and lunch with the Collector and MLA. Various education officials, corporation directors, and parents also attended the ceremony.

Collectors exhort people to adopt lifestyle sans plastic

Plantation drives were conducted on Thursday to mark the World Environment Day celebrations across Anantapur, Nandyal, Kurnool, and Chittoor districts. The District Collectors and officials planted saplings with a call to the people to plant more trees and avoid usage of plastic. In Anantapur district, the drive was led by District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V., Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha and others at Nagaravanam in Pampanuru village of Atmakuru mandal. At the occasion, the Collector and MLA urged the people to plant saplings in a big way and urged them to adopt a lifestyle sans plastic. Mr. Kumar said the ban on single use plastic would also be implemented in rural areas of the district and steps would be taken to control usage of plastic. The Collector asked the officials to not give bouquets at government functions but instead give saplings. He also said that officials should stop using plastic water bottles during meetings and bring their own steel water bottles. In Nandyal district, Collector Rajakumari Gania said an action plan has been drawn to plant four lakh saplings across the district and the focus was to protect the planted saplings. She said efforts are being made to take up avenue, block and bund plantation and saplings are available at forest and NREGA nurseries in the district. Ms. Gania said that burning plastic along with waste releases harmful chemicals into the air leading to health issues and urged the people to avoid usage of plastic. She was speaking at the plantation drive held at Municipal High School in Nandyal town along with Minister for Minority Welfare N. Md. Farooq. In Kurnool, a plantation drive was taken up in Nagaravanam at Gargeyapuram on the outskirts of the district. Collector P. Ranjith Basha planted saplings and asked the people to avoid plastic. In Chittoor, plantation drive was taken up in Neeva Nagaravanam on the outskirts of the town in which Chittoor MLA G. Jagan Mohan took part. Saplings were also planted by the Sri Sathya Sai and Nandyal district police.
