Tejashwi Yadav Ducks Just In Time As Drone Crashes On Stage Mid-Speech
Last Updated: Tejashwi quickly ducked, avoiding a direct hit, just seconds before the device fell onto the podium, causing brief chaos at the gathering Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday narrowly escaped injury after a drone crashed onto the stage during a rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The incident took place while he was addressing the ' Waqf Bachao, Samvidhan Bachao Sammelan ' (Save Waqf, Save Constitution) event. A video shared by news agency PTI showed the moment the drone approached the stage. Tejashwi quickly ducked, avoiding a direct hit, just seconds before the device fell onto the podium, causing brief chaos at the gathering. Security personnel swiftly removed the drone from the stage, and the event resumed shortly after. In response to the incident, Patna SP (Central) Diksha said, 'We are looking into the incident. It was a restricted area and such an object should not have landed there. The police team was busy managing the crowd when the rally was underway. But the matter will be definitely investigated thoroughly." The rally, attended by thousands, was held to oppose what the RJD and its allies allege is a threat to constitutional rights and minority institutions. Tejashwi, who served as Bihar's deputy chief minister, accused the BJP of attempting to strip away the voting rights of the poor, Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and minority communities. 'The BJP will try to snatch the voting rights of the poor and backward by deleting their names from the voter list," he claimed during his speech. He urged the public to remain alert during the ongoing voter list revision process following a notice by the Election Commission aimed at preparing a revised list of 8 crore voters in just 25 days. 'Please ensure that no one's name is removed, or they will stop your pension, ration, scholarship, and other welfare schemes," he warned. Tejashwi also reminded the crowd of the shared role that all communities, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, played in India's independence struggle, stressing that the country belongs to everyone, not just a single party or family. 'We must fight together to save Waqf, customs, and voters, and foil the conspiracies of the BJP," he added. The event also saw the presence of senior leaders from the INDIA bloc, including Congress veteran Salman Khurshid. First Published:

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav narrowly escapes injury as drone crashes into podium in Patna
Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday narrowly escaped an injury as the drone crashed into podium in Patna, from where he was addressing a gathering, reported PTI. He was addressing at the 'Waqf Bachao, Samvidhan Bachao Sammelan' at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. However, he continued his speech even after the incident and thanks the people for coming in large number to listen to him. Earlier in the day, Tejashwi Yadav also spoke at the Vaishya Representative Conference where he promised that if his government come to power, it would give Bihar a government where there is education, healthcare, income, irrigation, listening, and action. "...We want to give Bihar a government where there is education, healthcare, income, irrigation, listening, and action. Today, there is neither listening nor action. Today, you can go anywhere and see that there is immense corruption. Nitish Kumar talks about Jungle Raj, but gives parole to such criminals who keep AK-47 at their house. Today, there is neither justice nor development in Bihar... We have always stood with the public of the state...", ANI quoted Yadav as saying.

Lalu Prasad slams RSS leader Hosabale's call for review of Constitution's Preamble
Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad has vehemently condemned RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale for his call to review the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, saying it is an attack on democratic values. Lalu's remarks come after Dattatreya Hosabale, in a media interaction on Thursday, called for a review of the words 'Socialist' and 'Secular' from the Preamble, arguing that these terms were inserted during the Emergency era and no longer reflect contemporary India. Hosabale said, "There should be a discussion on whether they should remain. I say this in a building named after Babasaheb Ambedkar, whose original Constitution did not include these terms in the Preamble." Hosabale's remarks, made at an event in Delhi, drew sharp criticism from the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), while Shiv Sena came out in support of the suggestion. Lalu said, "No one can dare to touch the constitution." In a post on the social media platform X in Hindi, Lalu denounced the RSS proposal, saying: "The country's largest casteist and hateful organisation, RSS, has talked about changing the Constitution. Why do people with unjust character have so much hatred for democracy and Baba Saheb's Constitution in their minds and thoughts?" Lalu underscored that the Preamble's commitment to socialist redistribution and secular pluralism remains inviolable pillars of India's Republic, rooted in Ambedkar's vision. Hosabale claimed that the original framers did not include these ideals, and suggested that their addition under then–PM Indira Gandhi's Emergency (1975–77) warrants reconsideration. Wednesday marked 50 years since the Emergency declaration on June 25, 1975, a period during which both socialist and secular tenets were formally enshrined in the Preamble. Earlier, Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and CM Nitish Kumar labelled the Emergency a "black chapter" in India's history. Lalu's critique joins a chorus of opposition leaders warning against any backtracking on constitutional guarantees and may strengthen calls for a united stance among Grand Alliance parties in the face of BJP-RSS initiatives.

RJD releases campaign song projecting Tejashwi Yadav as ‘Bihar ka Beta' ahead of Assembly polls
Patna: As Bihar gears up for the upcoming Assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has released a new campaign song projecting Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, as a 'strong, honest, and visionary leader' and 'Bihar ka beta (son of Bihar)." The song outlines the RJD's key poll promises, including 'Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana', employment opportunities for the youth, 200 units of free electricity, social security, monthly pension of Rs 1,500, improvement in education and healthcare, establishment of industries and stopping migration to other states. The video further claims that once the RJD government is formed, there will be an adequate number of doctors in hospitals, world-class treatment facilities, control over bribery and corruption in government systems, and focus on farmers, labourers, and the Constitution. The campaign song focusses on improving the lives of farmers and labourers and frames the upcoming election as a battle to protect the Constitution and democracy in Bihar. Through this campaign song, the RJD is working to strengthen Tejashwi Yadav's image as a grassroots leader capable of bringing change in Bihar's governance landscape while directly appealing to young voters, women, farmers, and marginalised communities. In a passionate appeal during a Student Parliament event held in Patna on Thursday, LoP Tejashwi asked for a chance to prove himself as Chief Minister, pledging to deliver in 20 months what the NDA couldn't do in 20 years. His major promises included the formation of a youth commission, 100 per cent domicile policy for Bihar government jobs, fee waiver for all government examination forms, guarantee of 275 academic days per year in schools, mandatory 80 per cent attendance for students and state-sponsored exam preparation for all graduates. The RJD's promises also include a world-class educational city on 2,000 acres of land, milk and eggs for every child from BPL families, focus on core subjects like English, Maths, and Science from Class 5, English fluency training for students, digital and physical libraries in every school, with mandatory reading hours. In a symbolic gesture, LoP Tejashwi distributed pens to students, saying: 'Pencil marks can be erased, but pen marks cannot. This pen is for changing Bihar's destiny.'
