No TB patient to be left without treatment in Saran: Officials
Chhapra: In order to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB), the ministry of health and family welfare is planning to extend the pilot project of TB elimination to all districts of the country.
Earlier, Saran along with other 347 districts of the country joined a campaign of 100 days to eradicate the disease. The campaign was launched under Centre's guidance between Dec 7, 2024 and March 25, 2025. Buoyed by the success of the programme, the govt is planning to extend the programme at the national level, said district TB officer Dr Ratneshwar Prasad.
During this campaign, the TB patients would be identified in every house and given proper medical treatment. Dr Prasad said the health officials along with Asha workers would keep a close watch on the patients and provide medical aid through the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
Saran civil surgeon, Dr Sagar Dulal Sinha, said no TB patient would be left without treatment as the govt has adopted the "differentiated TB model" in which high risk patients would be under watch.
