Gorakhpur: A school teacher was allegedly bludgeoned to death with a stone grinder by her husband over financial dispute in Devarajpararea under Urwa police station, police said on Tuesday evening. The deceased identified as Asha, who worked at Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya in Gola, was killed in front of her son by her husband Ravi Pratap, who has since been arrested. According to police, Ravi, who runs a small medical store in his village, had been pressuring Asha to give him half of her monthly salary. Their son Ujjwal, an eyewitness to the crime, told police that his father frequently demanded money, claiming his business wasn't running well. Asha reportedly gave him Rs 5,000 every month, but he had recently started demanding Rs15,000. The deceased's brother Santosh Kumar said the couple had married in 2012 and Asha had even financed her husband's medical store. On Monday afternoon, after returning from school, Asha was assaulted during an argument and later brutally killed. Neighabours intervened to save the couple's son. Urwa SHO Shyamdev Chaudhary confirmed that Ravi Pratap has been arrested and sent to jail.

A brutal incident occurred in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a domestic dispute over money led to the death of a school teacher. 36-year-old Asha Bharti, a dedicated teacher at Kasturba School, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Ravi Pratap, after he smashed her head with a grinding stone during a heated argument, police reported on Tuesday. Ravi Pratap, who operates a medical store, was reportedly pressuring his wife to provide him with Rs 15,000 monthly. But Asha, was only willing to give him Rs 5,000. The disagreement reportedly caused more tensions and frequent arguments between the couple. The situation, however, took a horrific turn. While Asha was asleep, Ravi Pratap allegedly attacked her, smashed her on the head with a grinding stone. Their 13-year-old son, awakened by the sound, bravely attempted to intervene and stop his father from doing it. However, his father reportedly chased him away. Fortunately, the boy managed to escape and immediately found help from neighbours. Following this, the neighbours rushed to the house and saw that Asha's head was bleeding. They quickly took her to Gorakhpur Medical College. However, despite their efforts, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. A case has been registered in connection to matter. The police is investigating the matter as accused Ravi Pratap is still absconding. A man killed his wife by striking her head with a grinding stone in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur following a heated argument over money, police said on Tuesday, adding that the accused also chased his 13-year-old son when the boy tried to victim, 36-year-old Asha Bharti, was a teacher at Kasturba School. According to police, her husband, Ravi Pratap, who runs a medical store, had been pressuring her to give him Rs 15,000 every Asha refused to give him the money and offered Rs 5,000 instead, tensions reportedly escalated, resulting in frequent arguments between the couple. On the night of the incident, the accused allegedly attacked his wife with a grinding stone while she was asleep, striking her fatally on the head. Their 13-year-old son, who was awakened by the noise, attempted to stop his father but he chased the boy boy managed to escape his father's attack and alerted neighbours, who rushed to the scene and took Asha to Gorakhpur Medical College. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.A case has been registered at Gola police station. Ghaziabad: Police arrested five persons for allegedly duping people under the pretext of getting them high profits on insurance policies, buying bitcoins with matured policy funds, completing online tasks for money, and booking hotels online. Four other accused in the case are absconding. On July 3, Mahipal Bisht registered a police complaint at the cyber crime police station alleging that he was cheated of around Rs 36 lakh across several transactions between Oct 24, 2024, and June 8, this year. He alleged that the fraudsters got him to transfer money under the pretext of buying Bitcoin, a crypto currency, with matured insurance policy funds. An FIR was registered and teams were formed to nab the accused. Subsequently, cops arrested Ravi Pratap (38), Vikas Kumar (39), Naveen Pratap (30), Anuj Kumar (23), and Gunjan Singh (38) from Vijay Nagar on Thursday. They were all living in a rented accommodation in Indirapuram. Additionally, the arrests uncovered cyber fraud incidents amounting to Rs 44 lakh across three incidents, including Bisht's case, in three states – Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. During interrogation, Ravi Pratap revealed that he had worked for a company in 2020 which was an authorised customer service centre for various insurance policy companies. It would provide information related to life and health insurance policies to policyholders. Vikas Kumar and Sanket Tyagi, who is absconding, also worked with him at this company and they became acquainted there. "Tyagi obtained personal details of policyholders from these insurance companies through the company. Subsequently, Ravi Pratap, Vikas Kumar, and Sanket Tyagi left their jobs and began to impersonate insurance agents to call policyholders from different phone numbers, falsely promising higher benefits from their policies," DCP (city) Dhawal Jaiswal said. The accused would convince policyholders to transfer money into various accounts. They used accounts belonging to their associates Anuj Kumar, Sonu Kumar Manoj Kumar and Aman Kumar, who are also absconding, as well as accused Gunjan, for these transfers, the DCP said. "Mobile phones, bank accounts, and documents/chats/data from various insurance companies' policies seized from these individuals have revealed a total of three incidents across three states, including Bisht's case" the DCP said. In the second case a Hyderabad resident was defrauded of around Rs 8 lakh, while in the third case a resident of Nilgiri in Tamil Nadu was cheated of Rs 35,000 after he transferred money under the pretext of booking a hotel online.
