American Idol exec and her husband lay murdered inside mansion for FOUR DAYS before being found... despite 911 call on day of burglary

An American Idol executive and her husband lay dead for four days before they were police may have been outside their home while their killer was still inside. Robin Kaye, a longtime supervisor behind the hit show, and her husband Thomas Deluca, both 70, were killed in their $5 million Los Angeles mansion on July 10, four days before their bodies were discovered. In a shock revelation in a newly filed felony complaint in the Superior Court of Los Angeles, it was said that police had been called to the mansion on July 10 to respond to reports of a burglary from an unidentified eyewitness. Officers arrived at the couple's home, a high-security property with an 8-foot spiked wall and surveillance cameras, after two people reported a man jumping the fence. Cops circled the perimeter and had a helicopter swoop over the property, but were unable to gain access via the ground and saw nothing untoward from the air. But police sources have now told People that suspect Raymond Boodarian, 22, may have been inside the property at that very moment, close to the bodies of the eldery couple he's now accused of murdering. While cops were unable to access the property during the callout, Boodarian is believed to have entered through a single unlocked door while his alleged victims were out grocery shopping. It is unclear if he pulled the door shut behind him, but he is then said to have lain in wait inside until they returned. In the couple's haunting final moments, investigators said they engaged the intruder and struggled with him before ultimately being shot dead in separate rooms. Four days after the murders, a concerned family member requested a police welfare check on being able to get hold of Kaye or Deluca. When authorities checked on the home, they say they found a trail of blood leading to the front of the property. Paramedics were forced to enter through a shattered glass sliding door at the back of the home, because the front door was locked. Police sources reportedly said that the intruder locked the front door after the shooting. Kaye was found in the pantry of their home and Deluca was found in the bathroom, and both suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Boodarian was arrested on July 15 and charged with murdering the couple two days later, and also faces burglary charges. He was linked to the murders through a fingerprint found at the crime scene, which was found to be a match to his past arrests, alongside reported security footage. According to court records, Boodarian owns a rap sheet that includes charges of battery, threatening to commit a crime with intent to terrorize, and exhibiting a deadly weapon. The alleged killer is eligible for the death penalty as the shock killings involve multiple special circumstances required for prosecutors to seek it, including multiple victims and murder during a burglary. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has not yet said if it will seek the death penalty. Police also found a handgun in the suspect's home, which they believe may have been used in the killings, according to ABC7. 'We believe its the murder weapon, but pending forensic analysis we're not ready to say so yet,' LAPD Lt. Golan said, according to the outlet. Boodarian allegedly shot the couple dead during a burglary gone wrong, with investigators now looking into whether he'd been alerted to the couple's wealth during a previous trip to the property. One of his neighbors, who did not want to be named, said they would occasionally see Boodarian roaming the complex where he lived, 'looking really, really disturbed.' The neighbor also said she could often see when Boodarian's lights were on in his bedroom because of a shared wall. She eerily described how he would sometimes have an 'episode' and appear 'ready to break the walls.' She claimed that on at least one occasion, he had to be strapped to a stretcher and removed from the property. Boodarian was never convicted of the charges of battery, threatening to commit a crime with intent to terrorize, and exhibiting a deadly weapon because the case was dismissed when he was declared mentally incompetent. Many questions now surround how Boodarian's case was dismissed, with criminal defense attorney Lou Shapiro explaining that a significant factor may lie within California's legal system, according to ABC7. 'There's a separate court, just for people with mental health issues, if they are eligible for that court, they usually get put on a different track,' Shapiro said. 'And for the most part, most people that go on that track do well.' 'But every so often we have a situation like this, where it didn't go the way it should have gone,' he added. 'And very tragically, we have two people who are dead because of it.' Kaye worked as the music supervisor for singing competition American Idol for the last 15 seasons, or nearly 300 episodes, per her IMDB page. Over the years, she won several Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for her work on the show. She also worked for other well-known shows, including Lip Sync Battle, Hollywood Game Night and Worn Stories. Her husband was a musician who last released an album called Street Rock in 2022. His first 'acclaimed cult favorite debut' album. 'Down To The Wire,' was released by Epic Records in 1986. Deluca penned songs for popular hit makers, including Kid Rock, the band Molly Hatchet and Meredith Brooks. The couple purchased the home in January 2023, according to public records. The home was also used a rental property before being sold to the couple, neighbors said.

Suspect in killings of "American Idol" executive Robin Kaye and her husband in their Encino home due in court today

The 22-year-old man accused of shooting and killing "American Idol" executive Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca in their Encino home is expected to appear at the Van Nuys Courthouse on Thursday. Raymond Boodarian of Encino was arrested on Tuesday for the shooting deaths of the couple. Investigators stated at the time of the arrest that they were working to determine if Boodarian had any connection to Kaye and Deluca, as well as whether Boodarian was involved in any past calls for service at the couple's home. A police investigation found that on July 10, an intruder had climbed over a fence to gain access to the property in the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue and entered the house through an unlocked door. Police said Kaye and Deluca, both 70 years old, returned to their White Oak Avenue home, and Boodarian was allegedly inside, leading to a confrontation that resulted in both being shot multiple times. The bodies of Kaye and Deluca were not discovered until July 14, after officers with the Los Angeles Police Department conducted a welfare check on the couple. An arrest was made the following day by LAPD detectives and members of an FBI Fugitive Task Force after they used security camera video and facial recognition software to identify Boodarian as the suspect. According to a CBS News analysis of LAPD "calls for service," police were dispatched for suspected burglary calls in that same West Valley police district four times so far in July, including three days in a row on July 9, 10 and 11 – that includes the call from a neighbor about a suspicious person to Kaye and Deluca's house. Guy Cohen, the owner of SecureIT Homes, said that the couple called in May to request their services after a different break-in. Kaye worked as a music supervisor on the singing competition series and had been with the show since 2009, according to a spokesperson for "American Idol." "Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time," said a statement from the show's spokesperson.

Terrifying final moments of American Idol exec and husband murdered at $5m LA mansion

The American Idol executive and her husband, found murdered inside their $5 million California mansion, struggled with the intruder just moments before they were fatally shot in the head, police revealed. Robin Kaye, an award-winning music supervisor for the hit show, and Thomas Deluca, both 70, were discovered brutally murdered at their home in Encino on Monday around 2.33pm, the Los Angeles Police Department told Daily Mail. Police arrested 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian on Tuesday, confirming he had been inside the couple's home for approximately 30 minutes before they unexpectedly returned. In a chilling new revelation, police provided additional details about the couple's final moments - spotting the intruder, engaging in a struggle and ultimately being shot dead, ABC7 News reported. 'There was a confrontation that ensued which resulted in the victims receiving multiple gunshot wounds and succumbing to those injuries,' LAPD Lt. Guy Golan said, according to the outlet. Officers were first called to the couple's gated Los Angeles mansion on July 10 - an idyllic, high-security home surrounded by an 8-foot spiked wall and surveillance cameras, according to ABC7. They first arrived to the couple's residence after two calls reported a man jumping the fence, but left when no one answered and nothing appeared suspicious. Just four days later, however, police returned to the their ritzy $5 million mansion for a routine 'welfare check' after family and friends had not heard from them in four days. Authorities spotted blood at the front entrance before breaking through a window, where they found the couple both shot in the head in different rooms. The suspect, identified as Boodarian, was linked to the crime through a fingerprint found at the scene and corroborating surveillance footage. His fingerprints were in the LAPD's database thanks to his previous encounters with the law. He was found to have a violent criminal history, including brandishing a knife and making criminal threats against his stepfather in 2023, as well as battery charges involving his mother and sister in 2024, ABC7 reported. All three misdemeanor cases were dismissed late last year, with court documents revealing that the 22-year-old suspect had been declared mentally incompetent three months earlier. Police also found a handgun in the suspect's home, which they believe may have been used in the killings, according to ABC7. 'We believe its the murder weapon, but pending forensic analysis we're not ready to say so yet,' Lt. Golan said, according to the outlet. Boodarian allegedly shot the couple dead during a burglary gone wrong, with investigators now keen to see if he'd been alerted to the couple's wealth during a previous trip to the property. Police said he entered the home through an unlocked door after scaling a fence, according to cited surveillance footage - meaning their bodies may have lain inside the home for hours after investigators failed to access the property. One neighbor, who did not want to be named, would occasionally see Boodarian roaming the complex 'looking really, really disturbed.' The neighbor also said she could often see when Boodarian's lights were on in his bedroom because of a shared wall. She eerily described how he would sometimes have an 'episode' and appear 'ready to break the walls.' She claimed that on at least one occasion, he had to be strapped to a stretcher and removed from the property. Many questions now surround how Boodarian's case was dismissed, with criminal defense attorney Lou Shapiro explaining that a significant factor may lie within California's legal system, according to ABC7. Deluca penned songs for popular hit makers, including Kid Rock, the band Molly Hatchet and Meredith Brooks. The couple purchased the home in January 2023, according to public records. The home was also used a rental property before being sold to the couple, neighbors said. Charges against Boodarian are expected to be filed on Thursday.
