‘Never said this': Grant Denyer's TV revelation

Don't miss out on the headlines from Reality. Followed categories will be added to My News. Grant Denyer has revealed a shocking behind the scenes detail about Deal Or No Deal. The Gold Logie winner spoke to podcast, From the Newsroom, to promote the game show's new timeslot of 7pm weeknights on Channel 10. During the interview, Denyer was asked, 'have you ever had to stop filming (Deal Or No Deal) because something went seriously wrong?' The TV host replied, 'I've never said this and I don't know if I'm allowed to, but we have quite a few fainters!' Denyer continued, 'Up on the podium where people are holding the cases, it's quite regular that someone goes down. 'I don't know if it's the pressure of the moment, the heat of the lights, a lot of people get extremely nervous,' he said. 'We quickly extract them from the area … and we give them urgent medical attention,' Denyer said, noting that there are always medics on set during filming. 'And then we usually just replace them with someone else in the audience who looks close enough. 'I've never had that on any other television show. I don't specifically know why it happens on Deal Or No Deal … but that's a thing.' The TV host shared a story about one contestant who had a serious medical emergency on the Deal or No Deal set. 'A gentleman went down and we thought, 'oh, just another fainter'. We gave him all the appropriate care and then realised, hang on a second, his heart's a little arrhythmic … there's a little bit more going on.' Grant Denyer and his daughters. Picture: Instagram Denyer hosts Deal or No Deal. The production team called an ambulance and the man was taken to hospital. 'As it turns out, he would've died otherwise,' Denyer said. 'He lives by himself in a remote regional community, so he would never have made it to hospital himself had this not happened on the floor with our nurses and urgent medical care. 'We still get letters from him every month just saying, 'thank you so much, I wouldn't be alive without you.'' In the interview, Denyer also answered a series of rapid fire questions about other Aussie celebrities he's worked with. When asked to name the funniest star, Denyer named Amanda Keller. Most intimidating? 'Kochie,' Denyer replied. The TV host named Larry Emdur as the most down to earth celebrity, saying, 'there's not a bloke that would do more for others.' 'He (Emdur) sat by my bedside when I broke my back … and he sang to me. I wish he didn't because he's not very good,' Denyer laughed. And when asked to name the biggest diva he's worked with, Denyer reluctantly named Kyle Sandilands. 'I've never seen a bloke absolutely want to throw his furniture around the green room when his KFC hadn't arrived,' Denyer laughed. He then complimented the KIIS FM radio star, calling him 'a real teddy bear'. 'When you crack through that extremely hard shell, there is a real softie inside. It takes a lot of work to get there, but when you do, he's surprisingly tender.' You can catch Grant Denyer on Channel 10's Deal Or No Deal at the new time of 7pm weeknights Originally published as 'Never said this': Grant Denyer's TV revelation

He previously opened up on what his course entailed and said: 'I'm learning theology, going into depth about the Bible and learning how to cope with people, because you're not only the vicar, you're someone to listen, you're a psychiatrist, you have to help sort people's lives out and spread the good word. 'So there's a concoction of stuff that you need to learn before you become a vicar.' He says: 'I've got a beard now, I've shaved my head, I'm a man not a boy, but yeah, there's conversations about Big Brother that still come up. People come to church and are like, 'I really loved you when you cooked that egg'. 'And I'm like, 'Can we talk about Jesus Christ now, the Saviour?'. The Perfect Day in Las Vegas

Exactly no one goes to Las Vegas and sticks perfectly to their itinerary. It's just not that kind of place. What Vegas is, though, is a city where everyone goes to have a good time, where opponents quickly become friends, and where decisions are mostly guided by vibes (save for a few hard-to-get dinner rez). That being said, the perfect day in Las Vegas does exist—it's just more outline than hard-and-fast guide. Keep reading to plan yours, and then check out some more suggestions in the video above. Every Vegas vacation starts with getting to know the legendary Las Vegas Strip, a 4.225-mile stretch of dining, entertainment, hospitality, shopping, and nightlife. Sip a coffee en route to the Pinball Hall of Fame, where you can play hundreds of pinball machines and other vintage games—or simply marvel at the collection. Whether you'll be sitting down at the tables or just aim to dominate a game of Marco Polo in the pool, your competitive side will thrive here. Consider spending a day at AREA15, an immersive entertainment district right off the Strip than spans more than 200,000 square feet. The activities here are nearly endless: Challenge your friends to some Alternate Reality Dodgeball with AR glasses, or see who can outsmart the labyrinth of beams at Laser Maze. Las Vegas is as much about its food as its entertainment, so top your day off with a brag-worthy meal at one of the city's most coveted restaurants. Just three prime examples: Chinese essential The Noodle Den at SAHARA Las Vegas, elevated Italian staple Esther's Kitchen, and seafood-focused Michael Mina at the Bellagio. Whatever you choose, remember: Phone eats first. Finally, what's a trip to Vegas without a little thrill? We're not suggesting you try to jump over the fountains at Caesars Palace like Evel Knievel, but you can take your day to wild new heights on the 550-foot-tall High Roller Observation Wheel at The LINQ Hotel + Experience, or channel your inner daredevil by soaring over the Strip with SkyJump at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower.
