Rebecca Romijn says "wasn't sure" if she completed shoot for 'Avengers: Doomsday' - 'The script hasn't ...'
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Actress and former model Rebecca Romijn shared an update about her return as 'Mystique' in the highly anticipated 'Avengers: Doomsday', according to The Hollywood Reporter. The script hasn't -- they haven't finished writing it Rebecca Romijn shared that she wasn't sure if she had finished filming for the forthcoming Marvel film because the script wasn't fully complete. "I'm not quite sure," she said when asked if she was done shooting her scenes. "The script hasn't -- they haven't finished writing it. It's been very, very fun, and we don't know yet. They keep everything very close to the vest themselves in an effort to keep everything under wraps," as per The Hollywood Reporter. When asked if she had read the script, she didn't open up much about it, saying, "I cannot confirm nor deny that I have read the entire script." She also admitted she "can't say" who she's filmed scenes alongside, but it was a "surreal" experience shooting with some of her original X-Men co-stars with a new, blended cast, as per the outlet. "It was very surreal to be with my old cast as well as a new cast. I had crazy dreams while I was there for a large chunk of the shooting. Like, really kind of regressive dreams," she shared. Yeah, it was very surreal," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actress also shared what it was like revisiting the role of Mystique, nearly 20 years after she last portrayed the character in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. "Oh, I know her very well. I went back in with full ownership of her. It was very nice to go back and play that character, 'cause I had imposter syndrome in the very beginning," she said. "I thought, maybe at the very beginning, I was just cast because I happened to be the model who was available to play Mystique at that moment. I mean, I auditioned and I got the role, because when you're very young, you're like, Do I deserve to be here? And I did not have that going back this time. It was a very different experience." Marvel revealed the Avengers: Doomsday cast in late March, which notably includes a string of actors from 20th Century Fox's X-Men universe. Joining Romijn from the inaugural 2000 film are Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto and James Marsden as Cyclops. The Traitors host Alan Cumming also returns as Nightcrawler, whom he played in 'X2: X-Men United', and Kelsey Grammer as Beast, from X-Men: The Last Stand, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

One returning X-Men actor isn't sure if she has any further Avengers: Doomsday scenes to shoot because they "haven't finished writing" the script
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Mystique actor Rebecca Romijn doesn't even know if she's filming anything else for Avengers: Doomsday, admitting that the script is still being written. "[I'm] not quite sure [if Mystique's scenes have all been filmed]. They haven't finished writing it." Romijn told The Hollywood Reporter. "They keep everything close to the vest themselves in an effort to keep everything under wraps." Romijn was reluctant to share more information on Avengers: Doomsday, but added, "It was very surreal to be with my old [X-Men] cast as well as a new cast... I went back in with full ownership [of Mystique]." Romijn played the mutant shapeshifter in X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: First Class. In Avengers: Doomsday, she joins several OG X-Men actors, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Alan Cumming. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has admitted that there's plenty of what he describes as "plus-ing" going on to make Doomsday as good as it could be, especially with a cast that knows these characters inside and out. "There's plus-ing happening every day on the Avengers: Doomsday set right now, and it is amazing to watch because what those filmmakers, those actors, both the ones that are playing these characters for the first or second time and the one playing them for the 10th or 12th time, are the best in the world at it, and know these characters so well," Feige said (H/T THR). "So if they have an idea, you want to listen to it and you want to adjust to it and you want to improve it. I wouldn't want to change that." Avengers: Doomsday will hit cinemas on December 18, 2026. The topline cast include Robert Downey Jr., who is playing Doctor Doom. Though a recent social media post features a comic that includes an Iron Man vs. Doctor Doom showdown. We can but dream... 'Strange New Worlds' Season 3, Episode 1 Ending Sets Up a Classic 'Star Trek' Smackdown
After two years, Strange New Worlds Season 3 has resolved its big, bad 2023 cliffhanger. In the first episode of the new season, "Hegemony Part II," Captain Pike (Anson Mount) and the crew of the USS Enterprise hatch a plan to make the killer lizard aliens, the Gorn, go away. But, as the episode makes clear, the Gorn aren't totally defeated, just sidelined. And with one specific line, Strange New Worlds is sneakily setting the table for a classic 1967 Star Trek episode that, technically, takes place in this show's future. Spoilers ahead. Strange New Worlds Season 3, Episode 1 Ending, Explained Because the Gorn communicate through light, Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) figure out that large solar flares can tell all of the Gorn to either wake up and start hunting or, crucially, to go to sleep. The fix? If Scotty (Martin Quinn) can make the Enterprise appear like an actual sun, the Gorn's sleep cycle will be triggered. In classic Trek style, Scotty gives it all he's got, and it works, just barely. The Gorn invasion of the Federation is halted, and Captain Pike says, "I can't help but wonder if we didn't just create a problem for someone else to solve later.' But what did he mean by that? Strange New Worlds Just Set Up "Arena" At this point, Strange New Worlds Season 3 is taking place roughly in the year 2259. This puts it about six years, give or take, before the events of Star Trek: The Original Series. Yes, the technology looks way better in SNW than it did in the classic show, but if you squint a little, it works. And, if you don't worry too much about how fierce the Gorn look in this show, then you'll probably be able to reconcile that idea with the green-rubber Gorn from the 1967 episode "Arena." In that episode, Captain Kirk (William Shatner) fought a Gorn by himself, in a kind of test to prove whether or not humans were both resourceful, but also kind. In terms of the timeline, Captain Kirk is Captain Pike's successor, and in Strange New Worlds, is played by Paul Wesley, who is not yet a Starfleet captain. So, even though Pike doesn't know it yet, the problem that someone has to solve later will be solved by James T. Kirk in "Arena." Strange New Worlds debuted with two new episodes in Season 3. There will be eight more after that, each dropping weekly on Thursdays. But, if you want a sequel to Season 3, Episode 1, then all you have to do is watch Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 1, Episode 19, "Arena" and get ready to watch Captain Kirk wrestle in the sand with an incredible lizard man.'Strange New Worlds' Season 3, Episode 1 Ending Sets Up a Classic 'Star Trek' Smackdown first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 17, 2025
