Food Network to honor Anne Burrell with programming block Wednesday

File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo June 23 (UPI) -- Food Network is honoring the late chef Anne Burrell with programming in her honor Wednesday. Burrell died Tuesday at her home in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was 55. The programming block kicks off at 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday with an encore episode of Guy's Grocery Games. In the episode titled "All-Stars and A-Lister Dinners" Burrell is among the chefs who have to whip up a lunch with ingredients determined by a bowling game. Food Network will then air an episode of Worst Cooks in America: Worst of the Worst and Worst Cooks in America: Boot Camp Diaries at 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. EDT, respectively. Warner Bros. Discovery head of food content, Betsy Ayala described Burrell as "a one-of-a-kind-talent" in a statement. "With these special programming events, we hope to honor Anne and celebrate her impact on Food Network and beyond, and to offer fans a way to remember her passion and culinary prowess that ran through everything she did," she said. In addition, Food Network will release the premiere episode of Worst Cooks in America: Talented and Terrible on July 28, featuring Burrell. According to an official synopsis, the upcoming season will focus on "professional performers ... used to stealing the spotlight, but in the kitchen, they are dishing out disasters." Gailard Sartain, an actor who starred in "Hee Haw" and "Fried Green Tomatoes," died Tuesday. He was 78. Photo by Brett Sayles/ Pexels June 20 (UPI) -- Gailard Sartain, an actor who starred in Hee Haw and Fried Green Tomatoes, died Tuesday. He was 78. The Church Studio, an Oklahoma recording studio where Sartain's wife, Mary Jo, volunteers, announced his death Friday. Deadline said Sartain was battling an unspecified illness, but a specific cause of death was not shared. "I knew he wasn't in good health and hadn't been for a while," fellow Hee Haw alum Victoria Hallman told TMZ. "We always fool ourselves that people will hang on." In a tribute on Instagram, Church Studio said Sartain was "an extraordinary actor, artist and comedian." He began working on the variety show Hee Haw in 1972, and his other credits include Texas Ranger, Nashville, The Buddy Holly Story, The Outsiders, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Big Easy and The Hollywood Knights. Chef Anne Burrell dies at 55

File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo June 17 (UPI) -- Chef Anne Burrell died Tuesday at her Brooklyn, N.Y., home at age 55, People and Deadline confirmed via a statement from Burrell's family. No cause of death was given. Burrell hosted cooking shows such as Worst Cooks in America and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. She also appeared on many shows such as Next Iron Chef, The Best Thing I Ever Made, Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, Beat Bobby Flay and Rachael Ray. She wrote two books, Cook Like a Rock Star and Own Your Kitchen: Recipes to Inspire and Empower. Per Food Network, Burrell studied at the Culinary Institute of America and the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She was sous chef at Felidia in New York under Lidia Bastianich, chef at Savoy and executive chef at Lumi and Centro Vinoteca.
