Only in Miami: Here's how the Florida Panthers' racked up $500K at the club

How good of a time did the Florida Panthers have after clinching the Stanley Cup the second year in a row? So good that they're still talking about their rager of all ragers that went down two days after the historic victory against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 of the NHL finals at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. During a June 24 episode of Barstool Sports' 'Spittlin' Chiclets' podcast, hosts Ryan Whitney, Paul 'Biz Nasty' Bissonnette, and Keith Yandle, wanted more dirt on the blowout party for the Panthers at downtown Miami ultra club E11EVEN and it was revealed the tab added up to about $500K. At around the 28:15 minute mark, players Sam Reinhart and Matthew Tkachuk popped in to the show from a pool in the Bahamas, where they were indulging in hair of the dog daiquiris. 'Let me ask: 'How are you guys still going?' asked an impressed Whitney. 'Like, what is the sleep since Tuesday night?' 'Probably a couple hours. Couple late afternoon naps to go again,' Reinhart answered, adding, 'It's been a heck of a ride.' 'Yeah, it's been fun,' added Tkachuk. Reinhart noted that the team doctor has been busy helping to get the men's voices back after all the screaming and general mayhem. When Brad Marchand showed up in the pool, Whitney wanted to know why he went back into E11EVEN 'at 5 a.m.' when everyone else was heading home. 'I had to go back and bring it, boys,' he said, with a big grin. 'You don't leave E11EVEN until you get kicked out!' Teammate Tkachuk explained: 'He was going to pay and realized, 'Oh, it was a 500K comp.'' 'Yeah, we were treated pretty well there,' Reinhart agreed. 'They do a good job. They're classy.' Club insiders confirmed to the Miami Herald that the Cats did rack up quite the tab. But half a million bucks isn't the highest in the club's 11-year history, what with high rollers jetting in for such mega events as Super Bowl LIV, Miami Race Week, the Bitcoin conference, Art Basel and more. Judging by the drinks menu, this is not a difficult feat: Bottles of bubbly there start at $395 for a Perrier Jouët Grand Brut up to $12,500 for a jeroboam (three liters) of Dom Pérignon. An insider told us that the reason why the Panthers bill was so expensive is that much of the pricey liquid was not imbibed but used to drench the crowd. 'Championship roads always lead to E11EVEN — and we're thrilled the Florida Panthers chose to celebrate their back-to-back wins with us,' Dennis DeGori, co-founder/concept creator of E11EVEN Miami told the Herald. 'As for the bill? We're still counting empty bottles.'

What Could've Been For Buffalo: Looking Back At The Sabres' 2020-21 Roster

GM Kevyn Adams and the Buffalo Sabres have moved on from another promising player before they reached the pinnacle of their career. On Wednesday night, JJ Peterka was traded to the Utah Mammoth for Michael Kesselring and Josh Doan. With Peterka gone, the Sabres have just six players remaining from their 2020-21 roster. That team didn't have success in the regular season, as they finished last in the NHL. However, looking back at the makeup of their roster, they had an impressive group of players. That 2020-21 team included Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Casey Mittelstadt, Taylor Hall, Brandon Montour, Dylan Cozens, Jake McCabe and Linus Ullmark. All those players now play elsewhere, and some of them have gone on to win Stanley Cups and NHL awards. In addition, that Sabres team had Tage Thompson, Rasmus Dahlin and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, three players who remain on Buffalo's current roster. Among the ex-Sabres listed and including their former captain, Kyle Okposo, there are five Stanley Cups between them. Not just that, all those players experienced playoff hockey after moving from Buffalo. Eichel and Reinhart have transformed themselves into some of the best players in the league since they were traded away from Buffalo. The Sabres traded Eichel to the Vegas Golden Knights in the middle of the 2021-22 campaign. There was a disagreement between the player and the team regarding his health and how to manage Eichel's injury. Nonetheless, he became a different beast once he moved to Nevada, especially last season. Eichel reached a new career-high of 94 points, including 28 goals in 77 games. The 28-year-old finished in the top five in voting for the Hart, Selke and Lady Byng Trophies. Reinhart is a back-to-back Cup champion with the Florida Panthers and is a key member of the team. On top of that, he had a 57-goal season in 2023-24 and has been a top-five Selke Trophy candidate twice since joining Florida. With that, Eichel and Reinhart were selected to Team USA and Team Canada's preliminary rosters, respectively, for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in February. Even Jeff Skinner, who never made a playoff appearance before this past season, went all the way to the Stanley Cup final with the Edmonton Oilers. He was bought out by the Sabres and signed with the Oilers as a free agent last July. It's worth mentioning that the Sabres hold the joint-longest playoff drought among the four major sports in North America. They share a 14-year playoff drought with the NFL's New York Jets, and it's the longest drought in NHL history. Even those players who haven't gone on to win the Stanley Cup they turned out to be solid players, making a difference on their respective teams. For example, Ullmark has won a Vezina and William M. Jennings Trophy one season after he signed with the Boston Bruins in the 2021 off-season. Now, he's a true No.1 goaltender and was a key piece to pushing the Ottawa Senators to the post-season for the first time since 2017. Defenseman Jake McCabe is another player who has found a new home. He's been a force with the Toronto Maple Leafs, heading into his fourth season with the team, and depending on the game, McCabe is sometimes the best D-man on Toronto. Only time will tell if Peterka becomes yet another player that Buffalo may regret moving on from. Sam Reinhart wasn't at the Panthers' first parade. He lived it up this time

Sam Reinhart made his way to the stage on Fort Lauderdale Beach on top of Brad Marchand's shoulders, pumping his fist and firing up a crowd of more than 200,000 Florida Panthers fans on Sunday afternoon. It was a moment long in the making. Reinhart didn't take part in the Panthers' championship parade last year when they won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history because he had to attend his best friend's wedding that day. 'Obviously you'd love to be there for the parade and to celebrate with the fans,' Reinhart, who scored the game-winning goal in Game 7 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final to secure the championship, said at the start of training camp. 'Certainly there's some FOMO [fear of missing out] there, but I made the right decision. I know that. Hopefully, it's something we can build towards again and I'll be there for the next one.' Fast forward one year, and here the Panthers are again on Fort Lauderdale Beach after winning a second consecutive Stanley Cup — something only six other teams have accomplished in the expansion era (since the 1967-68 season). And this time, Reinhart was there to enjoy in the festivities. After entering on Marchand's shoulders, he took the mic from captain Aleksander Barkov as a few notable plays from his Stanley Cup playoff run — including his first of four goals in the Cup-clinching Game 6 of the Cup Final against Edmonton — played on screen. 'The only thing I've heard all day is how this is the best parade that's ever happened in South Florida,' Reinhart said. 'Thank God I missed last year and not this year.' Reinhart then channeled in inner DJ Khaled for the rest of his speech. 'We the best! And I mean that!' said Reinhart, who led the Panthers with 39 goals and 81 points in the regular season, tied for the team lead with 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists in the playoffs) and finished runner-up to Barkov for the Selke Trophy given annually to the NHL's best defensive forward. 'Another one!' It capped a wild week that saw Reinhart unleash his wild side. His peak moments came Thursday night into Friday morning when the team went to E11even, a worldwide known nightclub in Miami. Reinhart climbed a stripper pole to grab a signed Barkov jersey from the a trapeze bar hanging from the rafters to chants of his nickname, 'Reino! Reino!' Later in the night, Reinhart was seen with forward Evan Rodrigues pouring shots down people's throats and even handing out full bottles. 'Reino's had a couple legendary moments so far,' Marchand said. Added coach Paul Maurice on Saturday: 'I would think any celebration and anything that he would enjoy like that would be strictly for the other players, the laughter amongst them, right? Sam's not trying to build a brand here, but he has one in our room. He's got a great sense of humor. He's very, very bright. Really well spoken. Understands the game at a high level. He understands the game completely differently and on a higher level than I do because he's a player. He's a quiet man, but he has a voice. When you need it, he will say something on the bench. He has a great sense of when they need him to speak and he has that time.'

Wayne Gretzky loved Panthers' Cup win over Oilers but also admits one part didn't sit right

Wayne Gretzky shares honest reaction to Panthers' win over Oilers (Getty Images) The Florida Panthers sealed their second consecutive Stanley Cup in spectacular fashion, and Sam Reinhart's unforgettable performance in Game 6 became the night's defining moment. With four goals to his name, Reinhart powered the Panthers to a 5-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers and etched his name alongside hockey royalty. Panthers' Stanley Cup celebration hits a sour note as Wayne Gretzky reveals one major complaint Reinhart's scoring spree not only clinched the Cup but also tied Wayne Gretzky's iconic 1985 record of seven goals in a single Final series. But in typical Gretzky fashion, the hockey legend met the moment with charm and humor rather than disappointment. 'My records this year are dropping like flies, Eddie O,' Gretzky quipped during the postgame broadcast to analyst Eddie Olczyk. His remark, filled with playful sarcasm, was met with a laugh as Olczyk assured him, 'You still got another 40 or 50, Gretz. You're OK.' — Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) While Gretzky's record may have taken a hit, his admiration for Reinhart was clear. The Panthers' forward accomplished this milestone while pushing through a Grade 2 MCL tear, an injury he sustained in the Eastern Conference Final. 'I can't really put into words what it means,' Reinhart reflected. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo 'It's something you never really think about... this one was even harder to overcome and be here at the end.' Two of Reinhart's goals came on empty nets, but the impact of his performance was undeniable. It was a statement game, one that cemented Florida's dominance and placed Reinhart among the elite. The victory made Florida the first team since the Tampa Bay Lightning's 2020–21 run to repeat as champions. But it was Reinhart's tenacity and historical achievement that stood out. As confetti fell and Florida celebrated on home ice, hockey fans witnessed a rare bridging of eras—where a modern-day warrior matched the mark of a hockey legend, and that legend, with a wink, tipped his cap. The 2025 Stanley Cup Final didn't just end with a trophy; it added a new chapter to the sport's most storied history. Panthers rout Oilers to capture second NHL Stanley Cup in a row

Panthers become the first NHL club since Tampa Bay to win back-to-back titles MIAMI: The Florida Panthers, powered by Sam Reinhart's four-goal effort, captured their second consecutive Stanley Cup on Tuesday, defeating Edmonton 5-1 to win the NHL Final. Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 28 shots while Matthew Tkachuk added a goal for the Panthers, who took the best-of-seven series 4-2. 'It's incredible,' Florida's Brad Marchand said. 'It's a feeling you can't really describe... words can't put this into reality how great it feels. Such an incredible group.' After claiming their first crown last year, the Panthers become the first NHL club since Tampa Bay in 2020-21 to win back-to-back titles. Florida beat Edmonton in seven games in last year's Stanley Cup final after squandering a 3-0 series lead, but this time dominated the last two games to hoist the trophy again. 'It's an amazing feeling,' Bobrovsky said. 'They are amazing, the group. I'm so privileged to be their goalie. It's a dream come true and to win that trophy twice, it's amazing.' Not since Montreal beat Boston in 1977 and 1978 had a team defeated the same foe in the final two years in a row. The Panthers, who also lost to Vegas in the 2023 final, obtained Tkachuk in a 2022 trade with Calgary and haven't missed the final since. 'We're a dynasty,' Tkachuk said. 'And I can't believe this is what has happened... It just shows how unbelievable the group is, the depth.' Reinhart became only the fourth player to score seven goals in an NHL Final after Jean Beliveau in 1956, Mike Bossy in 1982 and Wayne Gretzky in 1985. 'It's not easy coming back again,' Reinhart said. 'You know how hard it is to do. Sometimes that benefits you and sometimes it doesn't. 'We just stuck with it. A lot has to go your way to be standing here at the end. We were up to task again.' Florida players took turns skating a lap on the ice after the game with the trophy lifted above their heads. Florida center Sam Bennett, who scored five goals in the final, won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the Stanley Cup playoffs. 'It's incredible,' Bennett said. 'This was harder than last time. We put in so much work. There are 25 MVPs in this group. It's the best feeling in the world.' The Oilers, seeking their sixth crown overall, have not won the Cup since 1990. No Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup since Montreal in 1993. Marchand, obtained in a trade from Boston where he won a Cup in 2011, scored six goals in the Stanley Cup Final. 'We just had that fire,' Marchand said. 'We knew we had something special.' Florida became only the eighth NHL team to clinch the Cup on home ice in back-to-back seasons, the first since the Oilers in 1987 and 1988. Reinhart runs wild Just 4:36 into the game, Reinhart stole the puck from Edmonton's Evan Bouchard at the blue line, evaded defender Mattias Ekholm and beat Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner one-on-one to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. It was the 29-year-old Canadian right wing's league-leading 15th goal of the playoffs, coming a day after Reinhart was named to Canada's 2026 Winter Olympic team. Tkachuk, named to the 2026 US Olympic squad, made it 2-0 for the Panthers just 47 seconds before the end of the first period. Reinhart made it 3-0 with 2:29 remaining in the second period, deflecting in an Aleksander Barkov shot. The Oilers pulled Skinner in favor of an extra attacker in desperation and Reinhart made them pay by scoring two goals into the empty net. Vasily Podkolzin scored for Edmonton with 4:42 remaining to avert a shutout. — AFP
