Pluribus is Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan's latest series – here's everything we know so far
It's been nearly three years since Apple TV+ first snapped up the rights to Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan 's next series. Apple TV+ kept things under wraps until last week, when the streaming service finally gave fans their first look at Gilligan's upcoming show. Titled Pluribus – the Latin word for 'many' – the series stars Better Call Saul 's Rhea Seehorn, who was nominated twice for an Emmy for her portrayal on the Breaking Bad sequel, alongside Karolina Wydra (Sneaky Pete), Carlos Manuel Vesga (The Hijacking of Flight 601), Miriam Shor (American Fiction) and Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death). Details are scant, but Apple TV+ describes Pluribus as 'a genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness'. Here's everything you need to know about Pluribus. 'Pluribus' release date: When does it come out? The first two episodes of Pluribus will be released on Apple TV+ on Friday, 7 November 2025, with each new episode after that dropping every Friday until 26 December. Apple TV+ says that there are nine episodes in Pluribus' first-season run. The streaming service ordered two seasons in 2022, so we'll definitely be getting another helping. What is 'Pluribus' about? Besides the short logline released by Apple TV+, we know a little bit more about the series from interviews with Vince Gilligan. In 2022, Deadline compared it to The Twilight Zone and stated that it was set in our world and would explore human nature in unexpected ways. The trade publication added that it was 'thought-provoking but not a morality tale'. In 2023, Gilligan told Variety that, like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, it takes place in Albuquerque, albeit a very different Albuquerque. 'The world changes very abruptly in the first episode, and then it is quite different,' Gilligan said. 'And the consequences that that reaps hopefully provide drama for many, many episodes after that.' It's not hard science fiction either. 'I would call it mild science fiction. It does have a sci-fi element to it at its core, and there's no crime, and no methamphetamine,' he said. 'It's going to be fun and different. I have no prediction as to how folks will react to it – whether they'll love it or hate it, or somewhere in the vast in-between, but I know it's a story that interests me, and Rhea will be playing a very different character than she played on Saul.' Given that several networks and platforms were chasing the rights to Pluribus, it could live up to the heights of Breaking Bad.

See 'Better Call Saul' stars Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn reunite at San Diego Comic-Con (exclusive)
The stars and co-creator Vince Gilligan stopped by EW's Comic-Con photo studio. It's gonna be a damn good reunion, and people are gonna know about it. Better Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn and co-creator Vince Gilligan reunited at Entertainment Weekly's photo studio at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 on Friday. Seehorn and Gilligan were at the annual fan convention to discuss their new project together, the sci-fi drama Pluribus, hitting Apple TV+ on Nov. 7. Meanwhile, Odenkirk was on hand to promote action thriller Nobody 2, in theaters Aug. 15. The trio last worked together on AMC's acclaimed Breaking Bad spinoff, which Gilligan co-created with Peter Gould. Better Call Saul took place shortly before the events of Breaking Bad, following Jimmy McGill (Odenkirk), a former con artist attempting to earn respect as a public defender as he transforms into Saul Goodman. The series ran for six seasons, ending in 2022. Seehorn played Jimmy's fellow attorney and love interest Kim Wexler, and earned two Emmy nominations for the role. Odenkirk scored six nominations for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, one for each season of its run, but never won for the role. The show itself tallied a whopping 53 nominations without a single win, setting the record for the most-nominated show to never earn an Emmy. In a previous interview with EW, Seehorn named an intense moment with Odenkirk in the season 5 finale as her favorite scene in the series, describing it as "the whole thing of Jimmy and Kim teetering on breaking up, talking each other back into staying, feeling each other out and then [Kim's shooting of] the finger guns." She elaborated on the unspoken language shared between the characters that was a particular highlight to her. "It is such a product of what's not being [said] and speaking in code to each other that it requires three things: great writing, two actors that know each other and each other's characters extraordinarily well, and an audience that has followed that relationship closely enough that they also are getting what we're saying. The whole thing is basically in code. That whole scene." See more reunion pics below: Watch EW's Comic-Con livestream: Check out more of . Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Breaking Bad creator's new show streams on Apple TV+ November 7
Apple has announced that Pluribus, a new science fiction drama from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 7. Gilligan was confirmed to be working on the project back in 2022, when Better Call Saul's Rhea Seehorn was also announced as its primary star. Alongside the premiere date, Apple also released a short (somewhat ominous) teaser for the series that shows a hospital employee mindlessly licking donuts. Pluribus is supposed to follow "the most miserable person on Earth" (presumably Seehorn) as they "save the world from happiness," but your guess is as good as mine as to how the two tie together. Apple's penchant for backing science fiction shows has been well-documented at this point. The company is currently producing a television adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer, and has made three seasons and counting of Foundation, based on the novel series by Isaac Asimov. Toss in things like Severance, Murderbot, Silo and For All Mankind and you've got a pretty varied catalog of sci-fi media to choose from. Just how "science fiction" Pluribus will actually be remains up in the air. When reports went out in 2022 that Apple was ordering two seasons of the show, it was described as "a blended, grounded genre drama." Apple's premiere date announcement pitches the show as "a genre-bending original." Pluribus' nine-episode first season will premiere on November 7 with two episodes. New episodes will stream weekly after that, all the way through December 26.
