LSU football commit loses five-star status after latest rankings update
One of LSU football's top commits in the 2026 recruiting class slipped in the rankings. Rivals released a new Rivals300 after completing the merger with On3. After the update, defensive tackle Richard Anderson is no longer a four-star. On3 was high on Anderson, but with On3 handing off recruiting coverage to Rivals, the On3 rankings are no more. Anderson remains a top-100 consensus recruit. On3's praise of Anderson is still reflected in his Rivals rankings, where he sits No. 23 overall and No. 2 at his position, but its not enough for the fifth-star. ESPN is the lowest on Anderson, ranking the Louisiana native No. 93 nationally. Anderson attends Edna Karr High School, a New Orleans powerhouse. He's been committed to the Tigers since June of 2024 and maintained his pledge even with LSU seeing a change at defensive line coach. Bo Davis took a job with the New Orleans Saints and LSU head coach Brian Kelly tabbed former LSU star Kyle Williams to fill the role. Given Anderson's top-30 ranking on Rivals, he still has a decent chance to finish as a five-star recruit with a strong senior season. Anderson was recently joined in LSU's class by five-star defensive tackle Lamar Brown, giving the top defensive tackle haul in the country. Per the Rivals Industry Rankings, LSU football's 2026 signing class ranks No. 7 nationally.

The term, short for educational technology, refers to the broad use of technology to support teaching, learning and the effective day-to-day management of educational institutions. It's a field encompassing far more than just physical hardware; it also includes digital software, online platforms, and innovative tools to enhance the educational experience. Dr. Richard Anderson, Head of Learning & Development, said: 'Technology in education is not about replacing teachers, but about empowering them with tools to create more dynamic and inclusive learning experiences. The use of technology in education is nuanced, and the advantages and disadvantages of its use should be carefully considered to assess its suitability for your environment.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The adoption of EdTech was undeniably accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which created what the Department for Education (DfE) called 'an unprecedented need for remote teaching and learning solutions.' Research shows that 64% of schools increased or upgraded their technology during this period to meet this demand. This rapid evolution highlighted its potential to facilitate high-quality learning anywhere, anytime. Children using laptops at school Dr Anderson said: 'Today, these technologies are typically used in three key ways within schools. They are used for school management and administration, streamlining tasks like pupil data management and parent communication. They provide direct support for teaching and learning through tools like virtual learning environments and automated marking systems.' 'Finally, they assist with pastoral support, helping schools monitor pupil wellbeing and facilitate meetings with external safeguarding professionals. From these foundational uses to the cutting edge of AI-powered personalised learning platforms, these digital tools are now a fundamental component of modern education.' While the integration of technology in education can present some disadvantages, such as the potential for student distraction, over-reliance on digital tools, and issues of equitable access, the advantages it can bring when the right balance is found are transformative for the classroom.
