Bridge builder eyes global expansion with Powys director

A Powys man has been appointed to a senior role as a bridge construction and civil engineering firm looks to expand with global growth. Shrewsbury-based company Beaver Bridges Ltd is aiming to expand the company into a global venture, will be led by Richard Hinckley from Llanfechain in Powys. Beaver Bridges International is what the company hopes will be a 'major step forward' in its own global growth strategy, focussing on expanding the company's international reach and exporting its expertise in steel bridging solutions to markets around the world. Mr Hinckley has been appointed Global Business Development Director for Beaver Bridges International. A company spokesperson said: 'With his extensive experience and strategic vision, Richard will lead the division's ambitious growth and strengthen Beaver Bridges International presence on the world stage. 'Our Wigan production facility will remain focused on meeting the UK's bridging needs. 'At the same time, Beaver Bridges International allows us to actively grow our global presence and deliver world-class solutions to international clients.' The move builds on recent partnerships between Beaver Bridges and TFE Connection Group, supported by GRP Steel-Indonesia, and LMH Engineering / Jamestown Manufacturing-Ireland, with the aim of having Beaver Bridges International deliver largescale infrastructure solutions globally. These alliances are further supported by Mitsui & Co, one of Japan's leading Trade Finance companies, giving customers flexible financial options to support their projects. The company added that amidst the expansion, it remains committed to contributing towards the drive for Net Zero steel production. GRP Steel is contributing to this with Electric Arc Furnace technology, producing Green Steel from 100 percent recycled materials. A spokesperson for the company added: 'As the UK anticipates domestic Green Steel production to be at least five years away, Beaver Bridges International is uniquely positioned to meet the demand for sustainable materials today. 'This launch marks a bold new chapter in Beaver Bridges' evolution and underscores the company's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration.'
