WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Live Quick Results: List of All Winners, Top Performers and More

Image via WWE YouTube The 40th edition of Saturday Night's Main Event took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta with various top stars performing on the show. The NBC special served as the perfect starter dish for the first-ever 2-night SummerSlam next month in New York. The main event featured Gunther defending his World Heavyweight title against Bill Goldberg. Meanwhile, the undercard featured an array of great matches, with Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight, Solo Sikoa defending his United States title against Jimmy Uso, and Randy Orton resuming his rivalry against Drew McIntyre. Let's have a look at the results and the biggest winners from the show. Goldberg vs. Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship The WWE Hall of Famer entered his final WWE match with Ernest 'The Cat' Miller and his son, Gage, as part of his entourage. The wrestling legend was physically compromised as he was dealing with a knee and shoulder injury. However, this did not stop the former Universal Champion from slowing down. He opened the bout with a flurry of multiple clotheslines and looked strong in and out. Moreover, he even displayed his tenacity and laughed off multiple chops from Gunther, which is widely considered his staple move. In the ending sequence, Goldberg accidentally speared the referee, Charles Robinson, which helped Gunther to take advantage. 'The Ring General' then taunted Gage and even shoved him, which led to Goldberg's son stepping over the barricade before being held by the officials. With Gunther back in the ring, Goldberg managed to hit one final spear and a jackhammer for a close fall. However, Gunther soon took control and locked in the sleeper hold to finish the bout as the Hall of Famer passed out. Goldberg then thanked the WWE Universe for a great reception and a 28-year long career before the show abruptly ended due to a shortage of time. Goldberg definitely had a proper farewell match while 'The Ring General' continued his reign. So, the outing was a massive win for both the veterans. Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight This is the contest from the night that took a sudden and worrying turn. Rollins and Knight were locked in a high-octane battle, each trying to hit their signature moves early to gain the upper hand. But the match came to a halt when 'The Visionary' landed awkwardly after a lionsault attempt, with his knee buckling beneath him. He collapsed instantly, clutching the injured leg in visible pain. As Knight moved in to capitalize, the referee stepped in, halting the action and calling for medical attention. A ringside doctor quickly entered the ring and had a brief exchange with Rollins. This saw an impromptu ending with Rollins, still visibly limping, walking straight into a Blunt Force Trauma from Knight, who sealed the win. Latest updates from many insiders are that Rollins suffered a legitimate injury during the show. Solo Sikoa vs Jimmy Uso for the United States Championship Sikoa continued his run as the champion with help from his allies. Tonga Loa, Talla Tonga, and JC Mateo all interfered during the outing. But the US title holder picked up the victory after rolling up Uso while Tonga distracted him with Talla Tonga helping the pin to be kept in place with his leg. The aftermath of the bout was scintillating, with Jacob Fatu rescuing Uso from the MFT's beatdown. The segment also saw Talla and Fatu facing off. After this, Tonga dropped Jacob with a big boot, but 'The Samoan Werewolf' reacted strongly with a suicide drive onto the group. Fatu got a huge reception from the crowd and is pointing in the direction of a multi-man tag match at SummerSlam next month. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre The two former WWE titleholders opened the show with a solid outing. However, more than the in-ring action, it served as the precursor to a big tag team showdown with Orton teaming up with Jelly Roll to face McIntyre, joining Logan Paul. Orton and McIntyre went back and forth in a hard-hitting match, trading their signature moves. Toward the end, McIntyre hit Orton with a Claymore Kick, but 'The Viper' was saved when his leg landed on the bottom rope. Paul, who was at the ringside, had distracted Orton just before the kick, which led to an argument between Paul and Roll. Paul kept shoving Jelly Roll, who finally had enough and knocked Paul down with a shove. As McIntyre turned his attention back to the ring, he walked right into an RKO from Orton, who picked up the win. But that wasn't it! Paul attacked Orton after the match, only to be dropped by a strong forearm from Roll. As McIntyre turned his attention back to the ring, he walked right into an RKO from Orton, who picked up the win. But that wasn't it! Paul attacked Orton after the match, only to be dropped by a strong forearm from Roll. Then, out of nowhere, McIntyre hit Roll with another Claymore Kick, leaving him laid out. WWE officials rushed to help the musician, while Raw GM Adam Pearce scolded McIntyre for the attack. WWE Raw results: Goldberg attacks Gunther ahead of their match at Saturday Night's Main Event

WWE Raw results: Gunther is set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Goldberg at Saturday Night's Main event in what promises to be a slobberknocker of a match. Ahead of the show, the Austrian star addressed the WWE Universe and took a dig at 'Da Man'. This, however, backfired for him in the worst way possible. Goldberg teaches Gunther a lesson Gunther addressed the audience on the July 7 edition of Raw and pointed out that he had 'verbally destroyed' Goldberg on the red brand over the last two weeks but received no response from him. He then implied that the Hall of Famer was afraid to confront. Just then the camera focused on Goldberg as he made his way to the arena. The WCW icon then made his way to the ring. He asked Gunther to give him his best shot. Gunther tried to lay him out but Goldberg countered with a punch of his own, knocking him down. 'The Myth' then set him up for a spear but 'The Ring General' beat a hasty retreat before he could do any more damage. Goldberg has arrived on #WWERAW. This comes after weeks of Gunther berating Goldberg. He previously vowed to destroy and humiliate him in front of his family. He also reminded him that we are in 2025 not the 90s and implied that this is not his time to be in the ring. Here's how Gunther, Goldberg's feud started Gunther beat Jey Uso on the Raw after Money in the Bank, in June, to win the World Heavyweight Championship. The very next week he was confronted by a returning Goldberg. The WCW legend challenged him to a match at Saturday Night's Main Event and vowed to teach him a lesson for insulting him at Bad Blood 2024. This will be his 'last match' and also his first one since he lost to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022.

Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Following minor setbacks and delays, the WCW legend is finally ready to grace the squared circle one last time. Moreover, he can even ride off into the sunset as the World Heavyweight Champion. However, standing in his way is the new titleholder, Gunther. With the career of The Ring General rising to new heights, a loss handed to Goldberg is just what he needs at this moment. Gunther defeating a legend like Goldberg is a major push for his career Gunther appeared on the June 16th edition of Monday Night RAW to celebrate his World Championship win over Jey Uso last week. His moment of glory was interrupted by the return of Goldberg. At first, the WWE Hall of Famer congratulated The Ring General on becoming a two-time World Champion. However, the mood quickly changed as he reminded Gunther of their altercation at the 2024 Bad Blood PLE. On that night, Gunther dragged Goldberg's entire family into the mix in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Having said that, Goldberg announced that he would conclude his business with Gunther in the same city, with a match against him at the July edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. The match will be contested for the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite having the home field advantage, Goldberg walking out as the victor would not be a good booking for the company's future. Gunther is the future of the business and is amidst a massive heel run. A win over a legend like Goldberg would elevate his status further in WWE and garner more heat for him, beating the icon in his own hometown. For Goldberg, it could be his last chance for the business to showcase him as an in-ring competitor by putting over Gunther. Moreover, this could fetch The Ring General matches against more marquee names like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and even John Cena on his farewell tour, which could be highly beneficial for his WWE run. With the stage set for a huge collision at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event in Atlanta, it remains to be seen who will reign supreme when the bell rings. Also read:
