Old flight footage misrepresented as Air India disaster

Passengers Argue With Air India Crew Over Delayed Flight To Dubai, Deplaned
Last Updated: May 25, 2025, 22:49 IST A Dubai-bound Air India flight from Delhi became a scene of intense drama on Sunday as travellers clashed with the crew over a technical delay. Passengers on the flight were without electricity for over 90 minutes due to a power failure, which was attributed to a technical issue. As the delay dragged on, passengers grew restless, with some even choosing to deboard. After the issue was resolved, the crew had to re-conduct a hand baggage check before proceeding. The cabin crew worked to keep passengers calm despite the technical issues, offering water and snacks. However, the pilot later announced another delay due to a failure in the external electrical source, dashing hopes of an imminent departure. After some passengers complained of feeling claustrophobic and some said they don't feel safe anymore, all passengers were deplaned, probably for reboarding later. Earlier, passengers on an Air India flight from Delhi to Patna were allegedly made to sit inside the aircraft for hours despite a non-functional air conditioning system. A video of passengers creatively using in-flight magazines as hand fans to cope with the heat is going viral on social media. One of the passengers, Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Rishi Mishra, made a self-recorded video from the flight. In the video, passengers were seen complaining about the non-functional air conditioning. Ex-RJD MLA shares video of distressed Air India passengers after AC malfunction
Former Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Rishi Mishra shared a video from inside an Air India flight, saying that passengers on board the flight from Delhi to Patna faced severe discomfort on Sunday after being left inside the aircraft without air-conditioning for nearly three hours at Delhi a day when Delhi's temperature touched 41.1C, well above the usual seasonal average, those on board Air India flight AI2521 complained of being made to wait inside the plane without any who was on the flight, posted the video on his Facebook account from inside the aircraft, where he could be seen visibly sweating. Hope for your kind understanding,' the airline a Gurugram-based man travelling from Delhi to Bhubaneswar on an Air India Express flight raised similar concerns online, sharing pictures after the aircraft's air-conditioning allegedly failed mid-air.

Video: No AC Inside Air India Plane In Delhi, Passenger Shares Ordeal
New Delhi: Passengers of an Air India flight at Delhi airport have complained they were made to sit inside the aircraft without air-conditioning on Sunday. The flight was scheduled to travel to Patna. Air India in a response to a post on X said operational reasons caused the delay and it told its team to give real-time assistance. Delhi's daytime temperature on Sunday was 41.1 degree Celsius, slightly above the seasonal average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. One of the passengers of the Air India flight, Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Rishi Mishra, posted a video on social media explaining the situation. "This is an Air India flight to Patna. Today is May 18, and it is 4 pm. We are inside the plane for an hour without air-conditioning. You can see how much we are sweating. Children are affected, many people are affected, but there is no one to look into this matter," Mr Mishra, sweat running down his forehead, said in the video he shared from inside the aircraft. Passengers were seen using inflight reading material as hand fans. The MLA's brother-in-law and surgeon, Dr Bipin Jha, contacted Air India on X and posted, "Regarding AI2521 Delhi to Patna flight ! Air condition did not work and hundreds of passengers were on board in this scorching heat for 3 hours ! My brother in law who is a politician and EX MLA became unwell ! Can you fix this for the future please." Air India replied to him: "Dear Mr. Jha, thank you for bringing this to our attention. The flight has been delayed due to operational reasons.
