Five's Ritchie Neville is engaged! Singer pops the question to 'nicest soul ever' during romantic trip to Italy
Five star Ritchie Neville has revealed he is engaged as he popped the question to a woman he confessed has felt 'like his wife since the day they met'. The singer, 45, appeared elated as he took to Instagram on Friday to announce he has asked his girlfriend, whose name is not known to the public, to marry him. Sharing a sweet selfie of the pair in Italy, Ritchie beamed at the camera as his now fiancee flaunted her huge diamond ring. Announcing his news to his 57,000 followers, he confessed that the brunette beauty had the 'nicest soul ever'. Alongside his loved-up snap, he penned: 'So…….this happened. Met the nicest soul ever and she felt like my wife the minute I met her.' He also added a blue love heart emoji to the end of the message.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. They appeared to enjoyed a romantic break in Florence for the big occasion and returned back to Britain on Friday after announcing the development. Friends and fans of the star flocked to the comment section to add their congratulatory messages. One penned: 'Congratulations Rich. That's great news, happy for you both x.' 'Congratulations mate, wishing you both all the love in the world and the most beautiful wedded life together….Big Love C&Jxx.' 'Aww congratulations both, finding your forever person is the BEST!!!' Richie's big announcement comes just month after he reflected on his two-year romance with Billie Piper as he expressed his 'regret' at breaking her heart. The couple met when they were teenagers, having just been thrust into the spotlight with their respective pop careers. Reflecting on their romance, which ended in 2000 when Ritchie was unfaithful, he shared on BBC documentary, Boybands Forever: 'Billie and I, we met backstage. 'And it was really weird because we walked up backstage to say hello and we hugged. And it was really odd because we just stood hugging for 10 minutes. 'Ultimately we were kids that had been thrown into a lions' pit. We were each other's safe place. It was very much young love in a very strange environment, in a very strange life.' For two years the couple were love's young dream, but it all came crashing down when Ritchie fell victim to a honey trap - being seduced by a Russian beauty while on tour in the country - who subsequently sold her story to the press. Reflecting on when he met the temptress, Ritchie confessed it did cross his mind that it was 'slightly odd' but ultimately he ended up back in bed with her. Cringing as he remembered The Sun newspaper's headline at the time - in which Ritchie was described as taking off the beauty's skirt with his teeth - he winced: 'It's almost like a porn story!' Sharing his upset at the fallout, Ritchie, 45, continued: 'It massively hurt somebody that I loved. 'I regret any pain I caused but equally I was 19 you know? I made a mistake. It ended a relationship.' Billie, 42, previously revealed how finding fame at an early age 'suffocated her' and that she and Ritchie would spend several days locked in her flat, turning her into a 'recluse'. The singer became a superstar overnight at the age of 15, when she became the youngest female artist to have a number one hit in 1998. She told Fault magazine: 'When you're a pop star you're always on duty. You're suddenly a role model even though you don't start out with ambitions of being a role model and also you're a fallible mess yourself. 'So trying to keep some resemblance of togetherness and good behavior was just shit as a teenager. 'Mostly that you couldn't walk anywhere without people wanting pictures and autographs and I found that so suffocating. We all did at that time. 'I went out with Rich from Five and we used to just sit in our flat for days, if we weren't working, and never leave. It made you really reclusive. That's the stuff I hated.'

Robbie Williams reunites all the members of Five for the first time in 25 years
Robbie Williams has reunited all the members of the British boyband Five for the first time in a whopping 25 years. The 90s pop group came together to perform onstage with Williams at his Stadium show at Wembley in London over the weekend. At the Emirates Stadium, the '90s boy band, comprised of Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Sean Conlon, Abz Love, and J Brown, performed their 1995 hit Keep On Movin'. Williams started to sing the song himself before telling the sold out crowd: 'I don't remember the words to this next bit. I wonder if anybody can help me out. Ladies and gentlemen, the first time they've been seen on stage for 25 years. My mates. Five!' The shows mark their first full tour together as a complete line-up since their early 2000s split. 'Reconnecting as a 5 has been special. We're ready. It's time,' said Robinson. 'Wow, what an honour to be asked by Robbie Williams to join him on stage at his London stadium show. Rob has been such a big supporter of ours, from the early days through to the comeback, so when he reached out to ask whether we'd come out on stage for his performance of Keep On Movin', it was the EASIEST yes,' the band later told fans on social media. They added: 'To get to share that moment with Robbie in front of 60k people was crazy … definitely a version of Keep On Movin' we'll never forget.' The surprise appearance was more than a one-off — Five officially announced their 2025 Keep On Movin' UK tour, a 25-date arena run kicking off October 29 in Cardiff, UK. Williams' latest tour follows the release of his biopic, Better Man, which became one of the biggest cinematic flops ever when it was released last December. Despite a warm reception from reviewers, the film – produced for a whopping $179 million – failed to make an impression upon its release. 'Robbie Williams played by a digitally animated chimpanzee [is] an outlandish choice. For anyone complaining that the industry plays it too safe, this is your movie,' David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research, told Variety. 'The risk-taking is excellent, but $110 million is not realistic for the genre and for this musical artist. $25 to $30 million would have made more sense.'

Five perform live for the FIRST time in 25 years as they surprise fans at Robbie Williams' stadium gig in London
Five sent fans into frenzy as they made a surprise appearance during Robbie Williams ' stadium gig in London on Friday night. Marking the band's first live performance in 25 years, the iconic Noughties boyband, made up of Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Abz Love and Jason Brown, brought a vibrant energy to the Emirates Stadium. The English group, who originally formed in 1997, joined Robbie, 51, while singing their hit Keep On Movin amid his mammoth UK BRITPOP stadium tour. The jaw-dropping moment marked the very first time Five has performed together with all five members in 25 years, with a reaction that was nothing short of electric. As the hit song began, echoes were heard in the stadium, with Robbie doing a perfect rendition of the track, before joked that he didn't really know the second verse and asked if anyone could help him. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. As the crowd erupted, Abz Love, J, Ritchie, Scott and Sean walked out on stage, stepping into the spotlight together for the first time in a quarter-century for a poignant performance of their signature hit with fans singing along to every word. Uniting pop history and transporting fans straight back to peak boyband mania - it's also the first time Five and Robbie have ever performed together. Five said of their experience: 'Wow, what an honour to be asked by Robbie Williams to join him on stage at his London stadium show. 'Rob has been such a big supporter of ours, from the early days through to the comeback, so when he reached out to ask whether we'd come out on stage for his performance of Keep On Movin', it was the EASIEST yes. 'To get to share that moment with Robbie in front of 60k people was crazy… definitely a version of Keep On Movin' we'll never forget.'' The surprise performance comes ahead of Five's highly-anticipated 25-date 'KEEP ON MOVIN' Tour, which will kick off this October. Recently speaking to MailOnline, the group couldn't help but bicker as they revealed the correct way to spell their name. Five - who went on to sell more than 20 million records worldwide before they split in 2001 - have widely been known as 5ive. Five recently broke out into a row during an exclusive chat with MailOnline as they cleared up a 'silly' myth about the band that's plagued them for 26 years Fans of the band have been referring to them as such for decades, and even the group's Wikipedia page states the name is 'stylised as 5ive'. So last week, fans were left in shock when the group filmed a TikTok video captioned: 'when people call us 5ive instead of Five', showing them kicking bottles and hitting the wall in frustration. Such is the passionate defence that their name has been misstyled that when asked by MailOnline why they decided to 'drop the 5' from their name, Richie immediately exclaimed: 'We didn't!' Revealing they had never spelled their name that way, Scott explained that the trend started when they released their Slam Dunk (Da Funk) music video 26 years ago. He shared: 'In the video there is a 5 but it was never on one of our albums! it's wrong on Spotify, because it's got the 5. We are called F, I, V, E.' Admitting it had been a cause of contention between the group, Sean then said: 'I can't understand - now I know I'm gonna get a lot of backlash - you're going to attack me - I don't get what's so upsetting about it.' The group then immediately started bickering as J bellowed: 'I don't like it!' Scott added: 'It looks silly. Like 5Five. we're not called 5Five, we're called Five, please, please!' Slam Dunk (Da Funk) was Five's debut single and went on to hit number 10 on the UK Singles Chart. Charting in over 20 countries, Five are the only UK act to hit the Top 10 with all of their 11 singles, including three No 1s

When boyband Five went to prison: the police wanted autographs
One morning in December 2000 I was outside the office of the Official PlayStation magazine in Dublin, where I worked, when I saw Jason 'J' Brown, a member of the pop group Five, walking along the street. I approached Brown and asked if the band would like to do an interview for the mag. Brown was keen and gave me his tour manager's number to set it up. The interview never happened. That afternoon Brown and his bandmate Ritchie Neville were arrested and imprisoned following a fight in Temple Bar. Nine months later the band broke up under the weight of court cases, exhaustion and nervous breakdowns. So it comes as a surprise to be seated in front of Brown, Neville, and their bandmates —
