Police team attacked during investigation in city

Patna: A police team from Danapur and Kotwali stations was attacked by locals during an investigation in Kamla Nehru Nagar under Kotwali police station area in Patna on Wednesday. The police personnel had gone to probe a missing person case when tensions escalated. Riya Paswan, popularly known as 'Pad Girl' and previously seen with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Bihar, alleged that the police assaulted her and her family. She claimed that around 2am on Wednesday, a team of eight officers, including a woman officer, entered her house without warning. Speaking to mediapersons, Riya accused the police of forcibly entering her house, assaulting family members, and damaging property. "They beat up pregnant women. My clothes were torn, I was assaulted, and my brother was dragged out of the house," she said. However, the police denied the charges. DSP (law and order) Krishna Murari Prasad said that the Danapur police had received a lead in a missing person case and proceeded to Kamla Nehru Nagar, a slum area, for investigation. "The residents initially refused to open the gate and later attacked the police team, obstructing the investigation," the DSP said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo He confirmed that an FIR was filed based on a written complaint from a Danapur officer against those who allegedly misbehaved with the police. He clarified that Riya Paswan does not reside in Kamla Nehru Nagar and had arrived at the spot after learning about the police action. Vaishali Arora on the success of Udne Ki Aasha; says ‘We're thrilled to have reached 500 episodes'

Actress Vaishali Arora, who has won hearts as the lively and lovable Riya in Udne Ki Aasha, is celebrating a major milestone. As the show clocks in 500 episodes, she reflects with pride, gratitude, and a whole lot of excitement. 'We're thrilled to have reached 500 episodes — it's a big moment for all of us!' she says. Vaishali credits the show's popularity to its multi-dimensional characters and evolving storytelling. 'Nobody wants to watch the same thing over and over. In a long-running show, it's important to give equal weightage to all characters — that's what keeps things engaging,' she adds. She's especially grateful to the show's creator and her mentor. 'Kudos for really bringing this through. I'm so grateful to him for giving me this character, and also to Abdul sir for being such a great guide,' she shares. What's next in Udne Ki Aasha? Vaishali hints at big twists and fresh energy. 'Fans can expect some new characters and lots of twists. Even we don't know everything — the writers always surprise us too!' Off screen, her bond with the cast has become like family. 'They're genuinely happy and loving people. When you're surrounded by such positive energy, half your work becomes easier. I actually miss them on days I'm not shooting,' she smiles. Playing Riya has been deeply personal for her. 'She always stands up for what's right and speaks her mind. I try to carry that with me in real life too,' Vaishali reflects. The love she's received from fans? 'Overwhelming,' she says. 'People write to me thanking me for supporting Sachin-Sairi, or for just being funny and silly. That's the biggest gift I've received from this show.' Among her favorite scenes are the couple competition at Akash's restaurant and Riya's emotional love confession. 'Both moments were special — one was full of laughs, the other full of heart.' With 500 episodes done and the story still soaring, Vaishali's journey as Riya continues to shine.

Rohan Mehra and Jhanak actress Riya Sharma are in a relationship

Rohan Mehra and Riya Sharma At a time when many couples choose to go public with their relationships on social media, Rohan Mehra and Riya Sharma have preferred to keep their romance private. The two actors have been in a steady relationship for the past two and a half years. A source close to the couple reveals, 'Rohan and Riya met through mutual friends at a party around three years ago and instantly connected. Their friendship gradually turned into love. A shared passion for their craft and strong family values brought them closer. They chose not to announce their relationship because they wanted the focus to remain on their work. Re-Discovering Purpose: Oakridge Bachupally Students Lead Global Change at NAE Summit 2025

In a world where education must prepare students not just for exams but for impact, the NAE Student Summit 2025 stood as a beacon of global citizenship, youth-led change, and purposeful learning. Held at The Village School in Houston, the summit brought together over 160 students from Nord Anglia Education schools worldwide, including a passionate delegation from Oakridge International School, Bachupally. Oakridge Students Group Among them were changemakers like Siddhi, Riya, Samyuktha, Saanvi, and Nia, who didn't just attend-they led, inspired, and transformed. Service in Action Houston Food Bank Visit The summit in Houston-held in the first UNICEF-recognized Child-Friendly City in the U.S.-kicked off with workshops led by Lisa Petro from Generation Global, where students explored the power of dialogue in fostering empathy, inclusion, and global change. They also learned about Nord Anglia's Social Impact Grants, which have supported student-led initiatives with over $735,000 since 2021. On the second day, guided by UNICEF, students and educators-including Ms. Sonia from Oakridge Bengaluru-engaged deeply with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), connecting global frameworks to real-world case studies to inspire meaningful action. Service in Action: Houston Food Bank Visit In a powerful act of service, Oakridge students joined peers to sort 6,541 kg of food donations, providing 12,020 meals to families in need. 'It was humbling to see how small actions can create big change,' shared Siddhi, Grade 11. Later for two days students visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science to explore the evolution of energy and the importance of renewable solutions. Later, Oakridge students took the stage during Peer Talks to share their insights. Day 4 focused on advocacy, where students practiced speaking up for change and navigating tough conversations, while teachers participated in a UNICEF emergency aid simulation to better understand humanitarian response efforts. Riya presented SuvriddhiOS, a platform promoting sustainable development in urban communities. Samyuktha shared HealthMirror, a student-led initiative improving health awareness among underserved populations. Their stories sparked conversations on compassion, innovation, and youth-led impact. Capstone Projects: Learning into Action The summit culminated in powerful capstone presentations, where students showcased how they plan to drive change in their communities. From climate action to digital inclusion, their ideas reflected a week of growth, collaboration, and purpose. 'I am incredibly proud of our students who represented Oakridge Bachupally at the NAE Summit 2025. Their leadership, empathy, and commitment to global change reflect the true spirit of purpose – driven education. From impactful service to powerful advocacy, they returned not just inspired, but ready to inspire. This summit reaffirmed our belief that our students are not just learners, but changemakers shaping a better world. This summit reaffirmed our belief that international education is not just about global exposure – it's about global responsibility,' said Ms. Anuradha, Principal of Oakridge Bachupally. 'One thing that I fondly remember from this trip is our time spent volunteering at the Houston food bank. To see people get into action without having to tell them what to do, to see us all identify and take care of problems in the matter of seconds and just not hesitating to get the job done no matter the circumstances was something that warms my heart as I think about it even now. That is the type of ideology and experience that I want social impact to be centred around' – Siddhi from grade eleven k. 'Attending the NAE Summit 2025 @ Houston, Texas as a Regional Lead was an incredibly enriching experience. One of the highlights for me was delivering a Chaperone Peer Talk on 'Championing Social Impact in Schools: A Journey from Vision to Action.' It was a proud moment to share our region's progress and inspire others through our stories of student-led change. The summit itself was a powerful blend of learning, collaboration, and action' – Fiona Chettiar Regional Representative Social Impact Program-India & CAS Coordinator- Oakridge Bachupally. The NAE Summit 2025 was more than an event-it was a launchpad for future changemakers. For Oakridge Bachupally, it marked a milestone in nurturing knowledge, empathy, and service.
