Dominik Mysterio Off Night Of Champions Due To Injury, Per WWE
Dominik Mysterio won't be on hand for this year's Night of Champions, with WWE confirming that Mysterio's match is off due to injury. During Monday's episode of WWE RAW, it was confirmed that by Adam Pearce that Mysterio was injured, and couldn't wrestle at Night of Champions. He told the news to AJ Styles, who was set to face, Mysterio, during the show. The pair were initially set to go at it for Dom's WWE Intercontinental Championship. Advertisement It's currently unclear exactly what injury Mysterio is facing, or how serious it actually is. Pearce told Styles he would be the first to get a shot at the belt when Dominik is healthy, though. More information will likely come forward in the coming days regarding his injury. WWE Night of Champions is set to take place on June 28, 2025, from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Karrion Kross will finally step into the spotlight at a premium live event this weekend, as WWE has officially added him to the Night of Champions 2025 card. Despite recent concerns surrounding tensions between the USA and Iran, WWE is moving forward with plans to hold Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. On WWE RAW, it was confirmed that the Intercontinental Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and AJ Styles is cancelled due to Mysterio suffering a rib injury. Advertisement However, while that match was pulled, WWE added a new bout: Karrion Kross vs. Sami Zayn. Kross has been playing mind games with Zayn for months, making him his main target after Zayn's elimination from the King of the Ring tournament on SmackDown. On WWE RAW, Karrion Kross confronted Sami Zayn during a backstage interview. The fans gave Kross a huge reaction, echoing the support he's been receiving at WWE Main Event. Kross mocked and told Zayn he would never become a WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Sami Zayn didn't back down. He hit Kross with a right hand, declared their match official after speaking with Adam Pearce, and told him, 'Tick Tock,' before walking off. Scarlett and Kross laughed it off, with Kross turning to her and confidently saying, 'Got him'. Karrion Kross, who has gained momentum thanks to his recent performances, got emotional after learning WWE booked him for the show. Another Title Match Announced For WWE Night Of Champions
WWE has added another match to this year's Night of Champions, with the WWE United States Championship set to be on the line. During Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown, things got even testier between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. In the ring, Solo Sikoa said he feels bad about what happened between him and Fatu over the past few weeks. Fatu made his way out, and after some back and forth, the Sikoa said he did love Jacob. Advertisement The crowd and Fatu called B.S., though, and that's when things fell apart. Fatu said that ever since he became U.S. Champion, Sikoa has been different, and it's because he's jealous. Things devolved into a brawl between the pair, with Jimmy Uso trying to make the save but getting taken out in the process. Deontay Wilder vs. Tyrrell Herndon Results These two heavyweights are not impressing the crowd. Boos are raining down in the second round. Deontay Wilder's Return Wilder is headlining a card built around his comeback moment. While we wait to see if the Bronze Bomber is still capable of sinking opponents with his huge right hand, fans (and I'm not sure how many of them there are) are tuning in to and other outlets for what could be a pivotal night in Wilder's career. Before the bell rings, let's set the table. Wilder hasn't fought since his loss to Zhilei Zhang via KO in June 2024. The soon-to-be 40-year-old enters this matchup needing more than just a win. Wilder needs to prove he is still a cut above the likes of Herndon and a serious opponent for the biggest names in the heavyweight division. Few expect Wilder to have lost his punching power, but the bigger question is about his mindset. That aspect of his game hasn't appeared to be in the best place over the past few years. Herndon, a journeyman of sorts, steps into the role of underdog with a chance to shock the world. Almost no one expects him to accomplish that goal. Quite honestly, we're not sure if he thinks he can win. While he lacks a marquee résumé, he has solid power and plenty of ring experience. If nothing else, he provides a barometer for what Wilder has left. This event isn't a massive card in terms of depth, but it does feature a few intriguing matchups underneath the main event. Deon Nicholson takes on Devonte Williams in a light heavyweight clash, and undefeated heavyweight prospect Gustavo Trujillo faces former title challenger Lateef Kayode. But make no mistake—this night belongs to Wilder. Whether Wilder wins by vintage KO or the unexpected happens, tonight could shape the next chapter of his legacy.
