What are Colorado's EA Sports College Football 26 player ratings? Where the Buffs stack up
EA Sports' College Football 26 is out, and everyone can rebuild their favorite teams in dynasty or take an unheralded recruit to the Heisman in Road to Glory. We already analyzed where Colorado stands with its overall rating, but who are the Buffaloes' top-rated players? We know that offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is the top-ranked player and one of the top-ranked tackles, with a 92 overall rating. Colorado has two players with an overall rating of 90 or higher and six players with a rating of 85 or better. Here are the Buffaloes' top 25 players in EA Sports' newest sports video game, College Football 26. 1. Jordan Seaton, OT Rating: 92 overall It is no surprise to see Seaton get the top spot after a freshman All-American season in 2024. 2. Xavier Hill, OT Rating: 90 overall The transfer from Memphis should step into a starting role on Colorado's offense. In the game, Hill projects as the Buffs' starting right tackle. 3. DJ McKinney, CB Rating: 89 overall DJ McKinney can be an All-American cornerback, and his College Football 26 rating certainly backs that up. He will take over for Travis Hunter as the Buffs' top coverage cornerback. 4. Kaidon Salter, QB Rating: 88 overall Salter gets the nod as the Buffs' highest-rated quarterback. He has an impressive 90 speed rating as well as an 87 break tackle rating, which leads the team. 5. Jaheim Oatis, DT Rating: 86 Oatis came over from Alabama and is looking to entrench himself as the Buffs' top interior defensive lineman. He owns an impressive 95 strength rating, which is good for the top mark on the squad. 6. Carter Stoutmire, FS Rating: 85 Stoutmire should take over for Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig as the Buffs' top coverage safety. 7. Micah Welch, RB Rating: 83 Welch comes in as the Buffs ' top-rated running back, a position that many Colorado fans feel is lacking a true No. 1 option. 8. Samuel Okunlola, EDGE Rating: 83 Okunlola should be one of the Buffs' top pass rushers in 2025, and according to College Football 26, he is Colorado's starting right defensive end. 9. Arden Walker, EDGE Rating: 83 Right behind Okunlola is his counterpart, Arden Walker. Walker is a popular breakout pick for the Buffs after 4.5 sacks in 2024. 10. Preston Hodge, CB Rating: 82 Hodge burst onto the scene last season at Colorado's nickel cornerback before injury forced him to the final four games. College Football 26 has him listed as a safety, but he should once again be the defensive coordinator, Robert Livingston's slot defender. 11. Tyrecus Davis, CB Rating: 82 With Travis Hunter and Colton Hood no longer on the team, Tyrecus Davis could get the first crack at the starting cornerback position opposite DJ McKinney. 12. Keaten Wade, EDGE Rating: 81 Wade emerged last season as one of Colorado's better defensive players after initially planning to redshirt. He will be in the pass rush rotation once again this year. 13. Simeon Price, RB Rating: 81 Price comes to Colorado hoping to carve out a role in the Buffaloes' backfield. 14. Martavius French Rating: 81 French steps in as the Colorado Buffaloes' likely starting middle linebacker after the departures of LaVonta Bentley and Nikhai Hill-Green. 15. Dallan Hayden, RB Rating: 81 Another possible contributor to the Colorado backfield, Hayden showed flashes last year of someone who can be a talented runner. 16-25 Follow Charlie Strella on X, Threads and Instagram. The College Football 26 'hat fake' is perfect video game trolling
Full disclosure: I am not a College Football 26 player. I do love seeing the franchise back in the rotation, and by all accounts, it's a fun game. But when I saw the highlights of one thing in its "Road to Glory Mode" that had me stopping in my tracks. If you're a high school recruit in the game and you're deciding who to play for, there's the now-traditional ceremony in which you get three hats to choose from. You can actually "hat fake" in the game! Just like we've seen with big-name recruits! Like, with a push of a button, you can put on a hat, then toss it aside for another hat. It's the best. We need more of this in other games. What better way to troll than in fake life in a video game? Watch how it works and tell me you're not going to do this like every day: This is the Hat Selection Ceremony in College Football 26 Road to Glory! 🧢Once you narrow the schools that offered you a scholarship down to 3, then you have a tough decision to can Commit, Remove Hat or Fake Pick.@EASPORTSCollege #CFB26… — QJB (@QJBeat) July 3, 2025 Seriously, this is amazing. Here's another video of it. Thank you, EA Sports. This article originally appeared on For The Win: College Football 26 'hat fake' in Road to Glory is just wild

The triumph of College Football 26 is in the details
The details 🎮🤌✨You can hear the @UMichFootball fans sing along to Mr. Brightside in @EASPORTSCollege 👏(Via EricRayweather/X) Good morning. If you see a lot of people dragging it at work this a.m., show them a little bit of grace. They were probably up all night playing the early release of College Football 26. I would know, because I'm one of them. Though your tired co-workers will need more than their usual dose of coffee to make it through the day, I can say with full confidence they don't regret their decision to stay up one bit. It was worth it. EA Sports pulled it off again. This isn't a full review of the game. I'll need more than a few hours to do that. I haven't even touched my favorite mode yet, which is Dynasty. So take this for what it is. But after spending a lot of time with the updated Road to Glory and playing enough to get a feel for some of the new features, I feel comfortable saying College Football 26 continues the positive momentum of the CFB franchise after last year's successful return from an 11-year hiatus. Where this game specifically succeeds is in the details. Before we get to those smaller things, the one big change to Road to Glory is that it now begins in high school and allows you build tape towards college offers. This made the mode infinitely more engaging as you earn scholarships, narrow your options down to three schools and have a hat-selection ceremony following your final high school game. That process added more weight to a college decision that was surprisingly hard to make (my 2-star quarterback stunned the world by turning down his hometown team, Maryland, for a chance to play more immediately at James Madison). Other than that addition, the accumulation of small tweaks are what made CFB 26 a step in the right direction for me; more authentic team entrances, (almost all) real coaches, updated gameplay mechanics, authentic time-of-day lighting, updated crowd noise, new graphic packages and so many new band songs. All of these things add up to make the college football broadcast experience feel that much more authentic. From the one annoying drumline song last year to this in College Football 26 🔥 Is CFB 26 perfect? No. Even in the limited time I played, I came across things that can be improved on (RTG is still limited to five positions). But when I finally pried myself away from the controller, I found myself wanting to play more, which is the best compliment you can give a game; it's fun to play. I can't wait to dive into the other modes soon. Wimbledon heartbreak Grigor Dimitrov had the absolute worst luck Monday after he was forced to retire from his fourth-round Wimbledon match with No. 1-ranked Jannik Sinner after jumping out to a two-set lead. Dimitrov was potentially on his way to pulling off the latest huge upset of the tournament, then he injured his pec and couldn't go anymore. It was gut-wrenching to see. To make it more heart-breaking, it's the fifth straight Grand Slam tournament in which the 34-year-old Dimitrov has retired dating back to last year's French Open. A sight we never want to Dimitrov is forced to retire while leading two sets to love. Everyone at #Wimbledon is wishing you a speedy recovery, Grigor 💚💜 Though Sinner graciously refused to count the match as a win, he'll advance to play American Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals Wednesday. The 22-year-old Shelton is on an absolute heater, having lost just one set through the first four rounds to become the youngest American man to reach the Wimbledon quarters since Andy Roddick in 2004. Ben Shelton (22) is the youngest American man to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals since Andy Roddick (21) in 2004 😮 With his good luck charm on site to root him on, and girlfriend Trinity Rodman in the stands too, Shelton might just give Sinner a run for his money. Quick Hits: Chris Paul retiring soon ... Kirk Cousins 'misled' ... and more Thanks for reading. Don't forget to put down the sticks and get some work done. EA Sports College Football 26 Predicts the 2025 Season
The wait is over-and yes, I had to be early. I pre-ordered the deluxe edition of "EA Sports College Football 26" and jumped in the second it went live. Before even touching Road to Glory or Ultimate Team, I ran a fullDynasty Mode simulation-complete with coaching changes, transfers, and the 16-team College Football Playoff. This is one of the very first EA CFB26 season sims you'll see online-maybe the first. And if what played out is even remotely close to what happens this fall, we're in for chaos. In case you missed it, Alabama's Ryan Williams and Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith are featured on the cover. Here's what the game predicts - the Heisman winner, the national champion, the Playoff field and some pretty wild postseason results. National Champion Penn State capped off a 15-1 season by dominating Georgia 38-14 in the national title game. The Nittany Lions were consistent all year and knocked off Texas in the semifinal to reach the championship stage. With an elite defense and balanced offense in the sim, Penn State looked like the most complete team from start to finish. Heisman Winner Zachariah Branch, who is now at Georgia, took home the Heisman Trophy after a monster season in Athens. He finished with 1,733 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. Other finalists included Byrum Brown from USF, Gunner Stockton from Georgia, Ryan Williams from Alabama, and Romello Brinson from SMU. Branch's explosive playmaking gave Georgia a spark all season long. Coach of the Year Kirby Smart earned Coach of the Year honors after leading Georgia to a 14-2 record and a dominant semifinal win over Baylor. The Bulldogs looked like a machine through most of the year, falling only in the title game. 16-Team Playoff Field Penn State Georgia Oregon Texas UCLA Baylor Duke Clemson Texas Tech BYU Miami Navy First round highlights included Navy upsetting UCLA, BYU slipping past Duke, Miami knocking off Baylor, and Texas Tech battling past Clemson. Semifinal Results Penn State defeated Texas 35-21 Georgia took down Baylor 30-20 Final Takeaway? No, it's not a crystal ball. But it's the most fun simulation we've got right now, especially with FPI and other models not fully updated yet. And based on these results? If you're a fan of Penn State or Georgia, you might want to pay attention.
