David Law boosted his bid to be back playing on the DP World Tour next year after shooting the lights out to land a second title triumph on the HotelPlanner Tour. The Aberdonian followed an opening 71 with blistering efforts of 62-62-63 to win the D+D REAL Czech Challenge by two shots with a 22-under-par total at Royal Beroun Golf Club. 'It feels amazing,' he said. 'It was a tough day out there and at the start there wasn't much wind, and you know all the guys are going to make birdies. 'I think it helped me going into the day two behind. I knew I had to get off to a fast start, which I thankfully did and from there it was about making as many birdies as possible.' Law landed his maiden win on what was called the Challenge Tour at the time in the 2018 SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge at Macdonald Spey Valley in Aviemore. The two-time Scottish Amateur champion finished 49th on the Race to Dubai before losing his season at the top table after ending up 119th on the points list last year. 'I am really determined to get my DP World Tour card back,' he said. 'This win has given me huge confidence and one of my goals was to be in contention more. 'The standard is incredibly high out here but practicing those feelings when being in contention don't change whether you're on the DP World Tour or HotelPlanner Tour. Daniel Young said he didn't know he had a chance of firing a 59 after storming through the final on the final day to light the flame on his Hotel Planner Tour campaign. The Perth man finished third behind Englishman James Morrison in the Blot Play9 event at Golf Bluegreen de Pléneuf Val André after signing off with a ten-under-par 60. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The blistering effort, which contained two eagles, equalled the course record after it had been set earlier in the week by Ireland's Max Kennedy. Daniel Young acknowledges the crowd during the final round of the Blot Play9 at Golf Bluegreen de Pleneuf Val Andre in France |'It was just one of those days,' said Young, who was out in 31 before storming home in a brilliant 29. 'Yeah, played great then things just started falling into place. 'I'd played well on the front but then chipped in on ten from just short of the green for an eagle and you think 'oh, we've got a little chance here to get on a run'.' Asked if he'd been thinking about shooting a magical 59 when a birdie at either the 17th or 18th would hace done the trick, the Scot added: 'Not really, to be honest. I forgot that it is a par 70 here, so I wasn't even thinking 59. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'I was just thinking about trying to pick up some more shots and have a chance to win the tournament. 'I thought if I could maybe go out and shoot maybe four under five that would gave been a really good Sunday. So, to shoot 60 is just unbelievable.' Finishing with a five-under-par target, he came up just one short of a play-off that saw Morrison beat Kennedy at the first extra hole. 'This place is never there for the taking and my game this week has been a bit mixed,' said Young, who picked up €21,000. The effort lifted Young from 52nd to 26th in the Road to Mallorca Rankings, with the top 25 at the end of the season securing DP World Tour cards. 'It's been quite a frustrating year,' he admitted, having made it to the season-ending Grand Final in Mallorca for the first time last season before ending up a career-best 32nd in the standings.

Euan Walker jumped into the top 20 in the Road to Mallorca Standings after producing his best performance of the season on the Hotel Planner Tour. Sitting just one shot off the lead, the Ayrshireman had a third victory on the second-tier circuit in his sights heading into the final round of the Challenge de España at Fontanals Golf Club in Girona. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad That never looked likely after an early bogey put him on the back foot a bit, but, to his credit, Walker stuck to his task at the start of a run of events on European soil. Helped by a birdie at the last, the 29-year-old signed off with a 70 to finish joint-third on 15-under-par, two shots behind Clement Charmasson as the Frenchman landed his maiden victory. Euan Walker plays his tee shot on the 17th hole on day four of the Challenge de Espana at Fontanals Golf Club in Girona |On the back of his week's work, Walker jumped 27 spots to 14th in the Road to Mallorca Rankings, joining compatriot David Law in the all-important top 20 in the battle for a 2026 DP World Tour card. Walker has been the most consistent Scottish performer on what was previously called the Challenge Tour over the past three seasons, finishing 24th, 26th and 25th on the season-long points list. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad There is still a long way to go in this season's campaign, but this effort was a timely boost for the Dundonald Links-based player after making eight cuts in a row. Top-20 finish for Graeme Robertson As Charmasson survived a late wobble to hold on for a one-shot win, Hotel Planner Tour rookie Graeme Robertson closed with a 69 to finish joint-20th on ten under. Calum Fyfe signed for a third straight 69 to end up on seven under, one ahead of Sam Locke, who had jumped close to the top ten after making an eagle at the tenth only to then follow that with a quadruple-bogey 7 at the 11th. Charmasson's title triumph came in just his fifth start on the circuit after securing promotion from the Pro Golf Tour last season. 'I'm just proud,' said the 26-year-old. 'Seeing my parents on the side of the 18th green, and all the work for the last ten years, it's so fun that I can get to share this with them. In a nine-birdie salvo, Couvra closed with a seven-under-par 64 to finish on 17 under, winning by two shots from Spaniard Jorge Campillo and China's Haotong Li, with overnight leader Brandon Robinson Thompson two shots further back in fourth. Couvra graduated from the Hotel Planner Tour last season and had already posted four top-ten finishes this term, including fifth place at the Hainan Classic last time out. 'It's just a dream,' said Couvra after emulating compatriot Victor Dubuisson, the 2015 winner, by landing this particular title. 'To win early (in my DP World Tour career) is fantastic, so I'm really happy about that. I think tonight is going to be fun with all of the French players!' Garcia targets fast Friday start after grabbing opening round lead in Abu Dhabi Challenge

Sebastian Garcia will look to maintain his aggressive approach in Friday's second round of the Abu Dhabi Challenge after a sparkling, bogey-free 63 gave him the outright lead at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. The Spaniard, currently 85th in the Road to Mallorca Rankings, fired a seven-under-par opening round to lead by a single stroke over a chasing pack of four players on six-under: Denmark's Victor Sidal Svendsen, Germany's Freddy Schott, France's Robin Sciot-Siegrist, and fellow Spaniard Albert Boneta. Garcia, 36, made a statement early with a birdie on the first and then eagled the driveable par-four fourth. Three more birdies followed around the turn before a steady run of pars and a final birdie on 16 capped an impressive round in the trickier afternoon conditions. 'It will be perfect because there will be no wind and a little fire will be taken out of the course. I won't change anything,' he said. 'This course, you need to be aggressive from the tee and second shots.' Hot on his heels at six under are Dane Victor Sidal Svendsen, German Freddy Schott, France's Robin Sciot-Siegrist and fellow Spaniard Albert Boneta. A further shot back on five under sit Scotland's Daniel Young, Dutchman Daan Huizing, France's Felix Mory and American Chase Hanna. A group of players at four under, including Sweden's Albin Bergstrom and Thailand's Denwit David Boriboonsub, remain well in contention. Defending champion Garrick Porteous made an encouraging return with a three-under 67, despite having stepped back from full-time professional golf. 'If someone told me I was going to shoot three under today, I would have taken it straight away,' said Porteous. 'I felt very relaxed out there, so we'll see how tomorrow goes. I've just got to keep on putting birdies on the scorecard around this place – you never know what can happen.' UAE's Ahmad Skaik, fresh off becoming the first Emirati to make a cut in a European Tour group event last week, signed for an even-par 70 to keep himself in the mix. 'I was hitting the ball pretty well out there,' said Skaik. 'It was pretty tough, a difficult back nine as it was very windy. If you get the wrong yardage on a pin out here, the ball just lands and rolls because it's so firm. It was a challenging back nine, so I'll take level par. I wanted better, but I've put myself in a decent position again.' Round two promises plenty of movement on the leaderboard as players look to position themselves for the weekend. Spectators can attend for free, with support from Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Arena, Al Laith, and eGolf Megastore helping to deliver another high-quality event on the HotelPlanner Tour.

Robinson-Thompson sets the pace with two-shot lead in Qatar on DP World Tour

Brandon Robinson Thompson will take a two-stroke lead into the weekend at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters after reaching ten under par after the second round at Doha Golf Club. The Englishman, who graduated from the Hotel Planner Tour after finishing 18th on last year's Road to Mallorca Rankings, carded a four under par second round of 68 to reach double figures. The 32 year-old carded two birdies and an eagle in his bogey-free effort and he holds the halfway lead for the first time in his DP World Tour career. Two shots behind are the Chinese pair of Ding Wenyi and Li Haotong who both carded five under par rounds of 67 to move to eight under. They are joined in a share of second place by MK Kim of South Korea. Kim is the youngest winner in HotelPlanner Tour history after claiming the D+D REAL Czech Challenge title in 2018 at the age of 17. In a share of fifth are last year's Hero Indian Open winner Keita Nakajima of Japan and Englishman Dan Brown on seven under. History was made this week as Jean Bekirian became the first Armenian representative to make the cut at a DP World Tour event, carding a two over par 74 to finish the day in a share of 34th place on two under. Brandon Robinson Thompson told the media on completing his round: "A great morning. It was tough, actually. The wind was ripping early. I thought the pins were quite tricky, so it was a lot of discipline. "I hit a lot of shots to 30-40 feet and took my two putts and tried to take advantage of holes I could give myself chances on. Snuck one in on 16, hit driver to three or four feet. "Happy with how I stayed patient and it's good to finish bogey free," he added. "I've been here so many times. I used to come here every year for about five or six years. I've played this course 50 or 60 times. I'm so comfortable out here. "There isn't a shot that I probably haven't seen already and I have a bit of support out here. I've had a lot of friends I've met who have come out and support me. It's like a home game for me and that's where the confidence and comfort comes from." The cut fell at one under par 143 with 66 players progressing to the weekend. The UAE's Joshua Grenville-Wood made the cut on one under par in tied 52nd with rounds of 70 and 73 to be on the cut mark. Leading Round 2 Scores B. Robinson-Thompson (Eng) 66. 68. 134. M.
