Mets Predicted To Land $50 Million Star In Massive Trade
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The New York Mets are one of the more talented teams in the game this season, but they still have some clear holes on their roster. In particular, the Mets could look to upgrade their outfield ahead of the trade deadline. Fortunately for them, there are a few intriguing names expected to be on the market in the coming weeks. Sports Illustrated's Nicholas Selbe recently predicted the Mets would swing a blockbuster trade to acquire Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. this season. CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - JUNE 24: Luis Robert Jr. #88 of the Chicago White Sox is frustrated after taking a strike during the sixth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Rate Field on June 24, 2025... CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - JUNE 24: Luis Robert Jr. #88 of the Chicago White Sox is frustrated after taking a strike during the sixth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Rate Field on June 24, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois. More"Robert's production at the plate has rapidly diminished since winning a Silver Slugger in 2023 to the point where he's currently valued as a replacement-level player even with his stellar baserunning and glove work in center field," Selbe wrote. "A pair of $20 million club options for 2026 and '27 that were once seen as potential bargains are now highly unlikely to be exercised. "His walk rate (10.2%) and chase rate (32.7%) are at career-high points, indicating an improvement in his plate discipline, but his abysmal squared-up rate (17.9%, second percentile in MLB) indicates there's work for him to do to be a plus on offense. The White Sox don't have much to gain by holding onto Robert, but it's hard to tell if their valuation on him will come down enough by the deadline for another team to take a swing on the 27-year-old." Obviously, trading for Robert would be a risk at this point. He's been consistently below average for the last two seasons, and it's hard to imagine he'll ever return to his 2023 form. But with him coming with multiple years of affordable team control, it's a risk worth taking for the Mets. If they can help Robert return to the guy he was with an OPS well north of .800, they could be landing a steal. More MLB: MLB Writer Suggests Shocking Red Sox Trade For $10.9 Million Slugger

Mahalo Closes Pre-Seed Round and Launches Post-Purchase Experience Platform to Streamline Warranty Management and Customer Interactions
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mahalo, a new end-to-end post-purchase experience (PPX) platform, today announced $2.6 million in pre-seed funding and the launch of their software for small and midsize manufacturers. Designed to make North American manufacturing firms more competitive on a global scale, Mahalo enables producers of consumer and industrial products to modernize their customer support utilizing generative AI. Motivate Venture Capital led the oversubscribed round, with participation from Diagram and Bridge Venture Fund. The end-to-end platform tackles product troubleshooting, warranty claims, registration, usage questions, and follow-on purchases. Its customer portal utilizes generative AI to troubleshoot and answer product-related questions, reducing unnecessary customer interactions and simplifying the entire equation. By streamlining and automating workflows and addressing product challenges, Mahalo enables manufacturers to execute a seamless post-purchase customer experience, reducing support costs while increasing follow-on sales. The cost of warranty management in particular remains an ongoing issue for electronics and appliance manufacturers worldwide, with over $50B paid out each year in product warranty claims. Without a centralized solution to process warranties, manufacturers often handle claims one by one, resort to replacing entire products rather than making minor repairs, and offer little structure or guidance to customer service representatives. The lack of organization leads to dissatisfied parties on all ends of the process. 'Mahalo is the first purpose-built solution of its kind,' said Mahalo Co-founder and CEO Robert Lowe. 'It's all about empowering the product buyer and building a trusted and transparent relationship with the manufacturer. End customers use the platform to register their product, troubleshoot issues, and submit and resolve product claims.' Robert has been immersed in the world of entrepreneurship and AI for nearly 20 years; this is his fourth company leveraging artificial intelligence. Of note, he previously co-founded Wellspring Worldwide, an open innovation software provider sold to a private equity fund, and PittPatt, a facial recognition software company acquired by Google. 'Manufacturing, specifically warranty processing and fulfillment, is an industry that desperately needs the power of generative AI,' said Frederic Latreille, General Partner at Diagram. 'The Mahalo team identified that gap in the market and has created a highly effective solution.' About Mahalo Mahalo enables world-class product ownership experiences, empowering leading manufacturers to build trusted customer relationships and expedite product support by leveraging powerful AI. The platform transforms how OEMs deliver value to their customers through transparent processes, time-saving automations, and robust integrations. It enables manufacturers to improve their customers' experience and increase overall brand satisfaction, drive repeat business, and decrease cost-to-service and troubleshooting. Emmerdale fans call for popular star's return as he ‘offers advice' in big story
Emmerdale fans have flocked to social media to call for Kelvin Fletcher's return as Andy Sugden. The actor, 41, appeared on the ITV soap for two decades from 1996 to 2016. Recent scenes have shown his on-screen brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) make a grand return, and is feuding with their other brother John (Oliver Farnworth), who was born as a result of an affair in the late 80s. A few weeks ago, John visited Robert in prison in an attempt to keep him away from the village – and from reuniting with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Robert then returned to Emmerdale, clearly wanting to break the pair up and claim back his ex-husband. When Aaron rejected his advances, he began to chat-up a customer at The Hide. Little did he realise, the man had slipped drugs into his drink, having been enlisted by John to complete the deed. The next morning, dazed and confused, he woke in the back of a van. John was stood over him, syringe in hand. Yikes. Robert jumped onto him to stop, and became confused when their sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) swanned over and seemed aware of the situation. John tried to play the doting brother, and the syringe contained medicine to 'help him'. Now, amid the drama, viewers reckon that Andy should return to sort out the situation. This was sparked by a comment from Kelvin on Instagram reading: 'Don't trust him Robert, I'm telling you.' 'Time to bring Andy back!!' said one fan on X. More Trending 'Yes! @emmerdale That would be perfect, bring Andy back. Get someone else to open Victoria's eyes,' said another. A third added: 'This story would actually be a perfect return for Andy so Robert has someone who 100% backs him no matter what.' 'Bring Andy home,' penned a fourth. View More » So, what do you think? Emmerdale's Robert gains unexpected new ally in mission to take down John
Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) made a new friend in tonight's Emmerdale as he realised not everyone in the village is a fan of his brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). A few weeks ago, John visited Robert in prison in an attempt to keep him away from the village, but more specifically, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Robert pushed John's buttons so much, he grew incredibly angry and frustrated. John threatened his brother, saying that he could take his life, and that he had no idea what he's capable of. Ever since, Robert has kept this interaction at the front of his mind. He returned to Emmerdale a couple of days later and told John and Aaron that he was back to spend more time with his family, but it was obvious he also wanted to get his ex away from his distant brother, who he thinks is dangerous. Well, he's not wrong. Yesterday, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) grew frustrated over being torn between her two brothers and decided to do something about it. She took John and Robert to some old family land and said their past relatives would never let fights bother them for very long, because they had to work together at the end of the day. John and Robert understood what Vic was trying to say and shook hands. However, because this happened away from where Victoria was standing, she failed to hear John and Robert's conversation as they made it abundantly clear they only intended to play happy families for their sister. Continuing the act tonight, John and Robert found themselves attending a lunch at The Hide. It was terribly awkward, and Vic was definitely trying too hard. Afterwards, Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) paid a visit to Vic to inform her that he'd be moving back to Butlers. Conversation then turned to the fact Robert still needs a job after losing his trial at the depot. Knowing exactly what it's like to re-adjust to normal life after time in prison, Matty gave Robert a chance and a few hours on the farm. When Robert turned up at the barn, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) expressed his worry over Robert working alongside John, but he said it wouldn't be a problem. Robert's shift at Butlers ended up going quite well. So much so, he decided to join Mack and Matty that afternoon for a few drinks in the pub. As Matty went to the bar, Robert and Mack started talking about John. More Trending Robert realised that Mackenzie wasn't a massive fan of John. He said that he really didn't like him previously, but his opinion of him has changed slightly due to John having his back a couple of times. Despite this, Robert seemed to focus on the fact Mack does not share the same opinion as everyone else when it comes to John.
