Police identify suspect, victim in murder-suicide at Warner Robins home
An elderly man shot a woman dead, then died by suicide at their home in Warner Robins on Wednesday, the Warner Robins Police Department said.
A person called 911, then hung up, prompting officers to conduct a welfare check, a news release from the police department stated.
The 911 call came in around 6:30 p.m. and police responded to the 200 block of Hillcrest Ave. They found 88-year-old Robert Moll 'in the backyard deceased with a gunshot wound,' and 80-year-old Judy Moll inside the home, also dead from a gunshot wound, WRPD said.
They owned the home together, according to property records from the Houston County Assessor's Office. More information about their connection wasn't immediately available.
Officers began investigating the incident as a murder-suicide, and confirmed Thursday that this was the cause of their deaths, a news release said.
Police said Robert Moll was a suspect and victim, and Judy Moll was a victim.
The WRPD Criminal Investigations Division and identification criminalists responded to the scene to investigate.
Both bodies were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Crime Lab to undergo autopsies, according to Houston County Coroner James Williams.
Williams declined to confirm whether their families were notified of their deaths by around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police urged anyone with information about the case to call Detective Karmen Thompson or Detective Omari Ferguson at 478-302-5380, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
