JUST THE TICKET: Jonathan Anderson's debut at Dior was the hottest ticket in town — and that's saying something when temps are hitting the hundred-degree mark. There was rare AC in the venue; never mind that it was installed to protect the artworks on display in the museum-like set. But either way, it benefited the audience. Some stars have perfected the art of arriving 'fashionably' late (see Beyoncé Knowles-Carter at Louis Vuitton), Rihanna and A$AP Rocky among them. Their entrance caused a commotion when the doors reopened for the couple and sent guests into a frenzy. 'I've known Jonathan for years, so I'm really happy for him,' he said. Even though he's been to many shows, Pattinson, a Dior brand ambassador for 14 years, expressed his excitement for the energy surrounding fashion week. 'I love the entire process,' he added. Pattinson also shared that he'll begin shooting the next 'Batman' film next year. 'The costume is iconic,' he said, though he noted it wouldn't be making an appearance at fashion week. Instead, he praised Anderson's new collection. Many looks were anchored with Regency-style collars, cravats and capes, alongside modern knitwear and jeans. 'It's all super wearable, which is great and exciting,' Pattinson declared. Mike Feist was deep in discussion with Joe Alwyn and Alison Oliver. Turning the tables during a chat with WWD, Feist grabbed the mic and played reporter, asking Oliver what she thought of the show. 'I'm delighted and very warm, but I have no intention of taking this jacket off,' she said, referring to her Dior look adorned with military-style buttons. Feist, who previously told WWD in Cannes that he's 'not a fashion guy,' kept his look casual and was there to support Anderson. 'I'm a big fan of him. We're good friends,' he said. Currently taking a break from film to focus on writing a screenplay, Feist said that he's preparing to return to the stage in a new play. 'I'm feeling very Sgt. Pepper,' said Drew Starkey, referencing his military-inspired jacket. The British actor is another longtime friend of Anderson's. 'He's one of the hardest-working people I've ever met — and one of my favorite people. This is well deserved,' he said. Starkey recently wrapped 'Onslaught' with Rebecca Hall and Dan Stevens but remained completely tight-lipped about the project. Instead, he revealed that he flew in for the show during a quick break from filming the next season of 'Outer Banks' in South Carolina, where production will continue for seven months. He also had a front-row reunion with his 'Queer' costar Daniel Craig. Craig joked that he didn't have anything intelligent to say about fashion but was seen chatting with Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu and Taehyun — four out of five members of Tomorrow x Together who attended the show (Heuningkai was absent). Craig asked about their recent tour, music-making and writing process before posing for photos with both the group and Pattinson. With Anderson's Dior debut being the hottest ticket in town, many fellow designers came out in support. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, recently named as Anderson's successors at Loewe, were enthusiastic about being there. 'We're big fans of him,' Hernandez said. 'We have a lot of love for him.' The duo said they're settling in well. 'We're having so much fun. I don't know how else to describe it. Everything feels possible — it's a dream.' However, they admitted they're still adjusting to Paris. 'We're really just between the office and home, not going out much. We're focused on the job. September will be the big one,' Hernandez added of their upcoming debut at the other LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned house. Donatella Versace, seated front row, was there for Anderson's big moment. 'For me, I'm so emotional because I worked with Jonathan when he was very young. We did the Versus show together,' she recalled of the 2013 collection. 'So, you know, I consider him like my little baby now.' The show also brought out fashion's best in class. Director Matt Reeves' version of The Batman hit theaters in 2022 and jump-started the post-COVID box office with a dynamic $369 million domestic and $772 million worldwide. Critics were enraptured by Robert Pattinson's darker, grittier, noir-style caped crusader, giving the DC Studios movie an 85 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 72 score on Metacritic — not too shabby for a comic-book character who's been skulking around Gotham City since 1939. With every successful blockbuster comes the inevitable sequel announcement, and The Batman was no different. But ever since being green-lit by Warner Bros., the follow-up has been hampered with production hiccups and delayed at least a year on the release schedule. Pattinson would return as reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne who fought crime as the gruff-voiced Batman, while Reeves would write (with Mattson Tomlin) and direct the new movie. "Matt took one of our most iconic and beloved superheroes and delivered a fresh vision," then-Warner Bros. studio boss Toby Emmerich said. 'Matt Reeves, Rob Pattinson, and the entire team will be taking audiences back to Gotham with The Batman 2." Besides Pattinson, three other cast members from The Batman were in talks for the sequel. Jeffrey Wright (Gotham Police Commissioner James "Jim" Gordon) told Deadline, "I haven't read the script yet, but that's the plan," referring to his eventual return. Andy Serkis (butler Alfred Pennyworth) revealed at 2024's ACE Superhero Comic Con, "I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more." Serkis later added, "[Reeves] told me the story of The Batman 2, and I was so excited for it." And Reeves confirmed that Colin Farrell's Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, would come back during a 2024 Comic-Con panel for the HBO spin-off show The Penguin. Initially, the sequel was set to begin principal photography in November 2023, according to ScreenRant, but it was pushed back because of the dual Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes. In February 2025, Pattinson told Deadline that The Batman 2 would start shooting "at the end of the year," which puts production in late fall or early winter 2025. "Everything feels so long ago, because COVID just erased three years," the actor said. Pattinson didn't give away the storyline, though he did tease that the plot is "cool." According to Production Weekly, principal photography will take place at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, England, the same studio that was used for portions of The Batman. In April 2025, yet another delay was hinted at, this one involving Pattinson's potential casting in Dune: Part Three. Deadline reported that Dune franchise director Denis Villeneuve had his eyes on Pattinson as "a new addition to the all-star ensemble" for the upcoming third film. While sources close to the project declined to comment, Deadline's Justin Kroll wrote on X that since Dune: Part Three "will shoot this summer," the actor "could shoot in reasonable time and have it not affect Batman 2, whenever that goes into production." In other words, online rumors suggesting that Pattinson's involvement in Dune 3 means that The Batman 2 will be canceled are flat-out wrong. After originally securing a theatrical release date of Oct. 2, 2026, The Batman 2 was pushed back a full year to Oct. 1, 2027, to give it more time to prep and film. Now, an untitled Alejandro González Iñárritu and Tom Cruise movie will take that 2026 calendar date instead, per The Hollywood Reporter. "Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write," DC Studios co-chief James Gunn said in December 2024 about the yearlong holdup. "Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting, and post-production on big films." In January 2023, the sequel was initially titled The Batman: Part II. But that didn't last long, as it was officially untitled as of December 2024, because Reeves was still writing the script. The new title has yet to be announced. Note that previous Batman movie sequels within the DC universe did not include numbers in their titles, and were instead called Batman Returns (1992), Batman Forever (1995), Batman & Robin (1997), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). On June 27, 2025, Reeves and Tomlin posted the blurred-out title page of the Batman 2 script on Instagram along with the caption, "Partners in Crime (Fighters)," plus three bat emojis. Variety confirmed that this meant the script was, indeed, finished. Pattinson follows in a long line of Batman actors who've appeared on the big screen, including Lewis Wilson (1943), Robert Lowery (1949), Adam West (1966), Michael Keaton (1989-92), Val Kilmer (1995), George Clooney (1997), Christian Bale (2005-12), and Ben Affleck (2016-21). The Batman 2 Gets Long-Awaited Update From Matt Reeves
After months of rumors, Matt Reeves has taken to social media to share an update on that will no doubt have fans excited. In a recent post on X, Reeves shared a photo of the now-finished script for The Batman Part II. In the background, he can be seen sitting next to Mattson Tomlin, who worked on script revisions on the original film, and who Reeves calls his partner in crime in the post. The post comes after months of rumors and reports on when Reeves would eventually finish the script for the highly anticipated movie. The original film was released three years ago in 2022 and was a massive hit. Starring Pattinson as the titular hero, the film made over $770 million at the box office. Much of what we can expect from The Batman Part II remains clouded in mystery. Likewise, its status in the larger DCU is also a mystery as of now. Speaking to Rolling Stone in a recent interview, James Gunn was asked if there was still a 'non-zero' chance that Matt Reeves' Batman franchise will one day be in the DC Universe. Gunn revealed that the chances of it are 'not likely,' but wouldn't say for sure whether it would never appear. Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell are among the actors expected to return for The Batman Part II, reprising their respective roles as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Alfred Pennyworth, and Oz Cobb/Penguin from The Batman. Reeves has not disclosed who Pattinson's Caped Crusader will be facing off against in the sequel, although everyone from Two-Face and Clayface to Hush and the Court of Owls has been rumored.

It's been a long and winding road, but The Batman: Part II is finally making progress in a very real and exciting way. Director Matt Reeves has confirmed that the script for the highly anticipated sequel is done. He shared the news with a photo on X, showing himself and co-writer Mattson Tomlin on a couch with the finished screenplay resting on the table in front of them. Reeves captioned the image, 'Partners in Crime (Fighters.' After some fans have expressed their frustration with the development cycle, this moment should be a small sigh of relief for them. Ever since the sequel was announced back in April 2022, The Batman: Part II has faced more delays. James Gunn, now co-head of DC Studios, previously addressed fans' concerns, explaining that the holdup stemmed from the script still being in the works. Considering the chilling presence of Paul Dano's Riddler in the first film, that's a high bar to clear. But Reeves has shown with The Batman and The Penguin series that he understands Gotham on a deep level. There's still a long way to go, but the Bat-symbol on a table, promising that this story will continue.
