Black & Blue Business – Atalanta Transfer Pipeline To Inter Milan Detailed

Atalanta are the team that Inter Milan have spent the second most signing players from in the last decade. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight how the signing of Ademola Lookman would push La Dea up to number one on that list handily. There are some notable similarities between Inter Milan and Atalanta. Both clubs wear the iconic Nerazzurri black and blue colours. Furthermore, both play in the region of Lombardia. Therefore, when a player moves from one club to the other, there is not much of a settling-in period necessary. (Photo by) As the Corriere dello Sport note, Inter have signed three players from Atalanta in the last decade. Since the 2015-16 season, three players have made the switch to the Nerazzurri from the Gewiss Arena – Roberto Gagliardini, Alessandro Bastoni, and Robin Gosens. That trio cost €81 million in total. The only club Inter have paid more for transfers during the period is Sassuolo – €84.7 million for Matteo Politano, Stefano Sensi, and Davide Frattesi. If Inter were to complete a big money deal for Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman this summer, though, La Dea would go well clear of the Neroverdi. Meanwhile, two clubs have paid more to Atalanta for players during the last decade than Inter – Juventus and Manchester United. The Bianconeri are top of the pile, having paid €116.4 million in transfer fees to Atalanta. The Red Devils, meanwhile, have spent €99.1 million on just two Atalanta players in the form of Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund.

Robin Gosens keen on Roma as an option

Robin Gosens keen on Roma as an option Robin Gosens is being linked with a move to Roma. The Giallorossi are in advanced talks to send Angelino to Al Hilal and are therefore looking to bring in a new leftback. Given Gian Piero Gasperini's recent appointment, Robin Gosens – currently at Fiorentina – has been linked as a potential replacement due to his strong bond with the former Atalanta manager. At the moment, however, there has been no contact between Roma and Gosens' entourage. Nonetheless, according to Retesport, the German international would be keen on Roma as an option for next season.

How ‘Super' Robin Gosens Almost Helped Fiorentina Beat Real Betis

More Maffia/NurPhoto via Getty Images) Trailing after the first leg, Fiorentina knew they needed a special performance to knock out Real Betis and advance to the UEFA Conference League Final. Robin Gosens gave them exactly that, but La Viola came up short against the effervescent Spanish side to lose 4-3 on aggregate. There were some notable changes for Fiorentina, boss Raffaele Palladino not only recalling Moise Kean but also bringing Dodô in at right-back. The Brazil international only had surgery to remove his appendix 13 days earlier, making a remarkable recovery and immediately getting back into action. Just as it had the previous week in Seville, the game began at breakneck pace. Both teams pushed to find an opening, David De Gea called into action to deny Pablo Fornals, Isco and Giovani Lo Celso. At the other end, Kean had a good chance, before a well-worked corner saw a header from Pietro Comuzzo cleared off the line and the rebound was blocked by Marc Bartra. Antony saw one good chance denied by former Manchester United team-mate De Gea, but got the better of the goalkeeper a few minutes later with an excellent free kick. Yet having worked so hard to extend their advantage, Betis suddenly found themselves on the back foot. Another great corner delivery from Rolando Mandragora was met by a wide open Gosens, the wing-back directing his header into the far bottom corner to mark his seventh goal of the season. Just eight minutes later, Fiorentina had another corner. This time the ball was whipped in by Yacine Adli, but it would once again be Gosens who met it, flicking a glancing header into the nearside corner to completely wrongfoot Francisco Vieites. In truth the goals were only a small part of the impact Gosens would have on the entire second leg as he constantly found himself heavily involved in the action at both ends of the field. According to statistics, the Germany international recorded 61 touches, including two progressive carries, four progressive passes made and five received. No fewer than 22 of his touches were in the attacking third, with six inside the opposition penalty area, Gosens creating one goal scoring opportunity for a team-mate. Meanwhile, he also did his part to deny Betis time and space in possession, notching four tackles, three interceptions and a block, the totality of his performance prompting one of Italy's major sports papers to dub him 'Super Gosens' on Friday's front page (shown below). However, with the tie deadlocked at 3-3, the game went into Extra Time where Betis ultimately proved to be too strong for Fiorentina. A clever pass from Aitor Ruibal sent Antony away down the right and he rolled the ball to Abde Ezzalzouli at the far post, the Morrocco international making no mistake. Just like that, Fiorentina – unlike fellow Serie A side Inter – were denied the chance to reach a third consecutive European Final as Betis will now meet Chelsea in Poland despite the best efforts of Gosens and his team-mates. After seeing him grab four goals in his last seven games, La Viola can at least be pleased that the former Atalanta man has proven to be one of the best signings of this current campaign. Having initially signed Gosens on loan from Union Berlin, German outlet Kicker believe that a clause to sign him outright has been triggered. That will reportedly see Fiorentina hand over just €7.5 million ($8.44 million) for a player who has weighed in with seven goals and nine assists in all competitions. He might not have been able to help them reach the Conference League Final, but Fiorentina will be glad to have 'Super' Robin Gosens around now and in the future.

Antony reduced to tears after beating Fiorentina to Conference League final

Manchester United loanee Antony was reduced to tears after helping Real Beits into the Europa League final with a 2-2 draw in extra time in the second leg of the Conference League semi-final against Fiorentina on Thursday night. The 2-2 draw confirmed a 4-3 aggregate defeat for Fiorentina, who had been involved in both of the last two Conference League finals, but without winning either. Advertisement La Viola had drawn level in the tie thanks to brace from Robin Gosens, which levelled the aggregate score at 3-3 by the end of the 90 minutes on Thursday night, but an extra-time equaliser from Abdi Ezzalzouli was enough to inflict a 4-3 aggregate victory for Betis. Betis break Fiorentina hearts to reach Conference League final

FLORENCE, Italy :Abde Ezzalzouli emerged as Real Betis' hero on Thursday after he netted an extra-time winner to make them the first Spanish side to reach the Conference League final with a 4-3 aggregate victory over Fiorentina, setting up a showdown with Premier League side Chelsea. While Betis were celebrating reaching their first European final after the second leg ended in a 2-2 draw, Fiorentina were left to digest further disappointment in the competition as they bowed out in the semi-finals following back-to-back final defeats. The Italian hosts faced an uphill task of overturning a first-leg deficit after Betis won 2-1 in Seville last week and struggled to make any impact during the early exchanges. Betis increased their advantage when Antony scored on the half-hour mark with a stunning free-kick, curling the ball over the wall and in off the post. However, just four minutes later, Fiorentina hit back as an unmarked Robin Gosens rose to meet a corner, calmly steering a header into the far corner to the delight of the cheering home fans. Three minutes before the break, Gosens struck again as he rose above Betis defender Marc Bartra and powered a header into the near top corner from yet another corner, completing a dramatic first-half turnaround for Fiorentina. The action did not let up and just before the break Betis' Johnny Cardoso unleashed a rocket from the edge of the box that thundered off the crossbar and flew over, leaving the crowd gasping. Antony nearly snatched a late equaliser for Betis minutes before full time, pouncing on a loose pass to race through one-on-one with David De Gea who pulled off a stunning double save. It took seven minutes of extra time before Antony managed to send a cross past De Gea and into the path of an onrushing Ezzalzouli, who easily scored from close range.
