OnePlus announces doorstep pickup and drop service across 19,000+ Pin codes in India
OnePlus on Wednesday (June 25, 2025) announced doorstep pickup and drop service of devices across 19,000+ Pin codes in India with an objective of strengthening its aftersales network across tier 2 and tier 3 cities. This expansion is a part of OnePlus's ₹6,000 crore three-year timeline Project Starlight which was introduced in Q4 2024. The Chinese smartphone seller is also working to expand its service network across 28 states and over 400 cities over the next 3 to 5 years. Over the past year alone, the number of OnePlus service centres has grown by more than 50%, claims OnePlus. Additionally, the OnePlus's customer support ecosystem will have dedicated call centres, real-time live chat, verified WhatsApp support and Email-based service channels. OnePlus has expanded its doorstep pickup and drop service for after-sales support across more than 19,000 pincodes in India. The company says that the move aims to make service more accessible to customers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities and rural areas. Customers can now access repair services without visiting service centres, with free pickup and delivery available for eligible areas. The brand's support system includes multiple channels such as dedicated call centres, real-time live chat, verified WhatsApp support, and email assistance. The service expansion is part of Project Starlight, a program launched in Q4 2024 with a Rs 6,000 crore investment over three years. The initiative is focused on strengthening the customer service infrastructure based on user feedback. India is a dynamic and fast-growing market for next-generation AI-enabled hearables, wearables, and power management devices. The partnership was aimed at expanding the manufacturing base to cater to domestic demand, while also opening up new opportunities to expand globally. As part of its long-term vision to strengthen domestic manufacturing, Realme planned to produce all of its AIoT product portfolio in India, including earphones, smartwatches, and tablets. Beginning this year, key products such as the realme Buds T200 series, realme Buds Wireless series, and realme Buds Air series will start rolling off local production lines. OnePlus partners Optiemus Electronics to manufacture IoT devices in India
NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has partnered with Optiemus Electronics (OEL) to manufacture premium Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including true-wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds and neckbands, in Noida at the homegrown contract manufacturer's facility. 'This significant milestone underscores the joint commitment to enhance domestic production capabilities in India under the brand's strong commitment to the market,' the companies said in a joint statement Wednesday. The collaboration has begun with the commencement of local production for the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3, which is a neckband device. OnePlus said in the statement that the strategic partnership aligns with its long-term vision for India, and the recent 'Starlight' project to strengthen localisation efforts in the region. Under the flagship initiative, the brand has planned to invest cumulatively ₹6,000 crore over the next three years. Notably, OnePlus' smartphones are presently being manufactured by Oppo in India. Optiemus Electronics, in turn, said it will provide the dedicated support required to increase bill-of-materials (BOM) level localisation, reduce costs, and improve supply chain resilience for the brand.
