Will Smith addresses Oscars slap controversy in fiery freestyle on Fire in the Booth

Will Smith (R) hits Chris Rock as Rock spoke on stage during the 94th Academy Awards in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, U.S., March 27, 2022. REUTERS/Brian Snyder Will Smith seems to be revisiting the infamous 2022 Oscars incident involving Chris Rock in a newly released freestyle on Charlie Sloth's 'Fire in the Booth.' The moment adds another layer to Smith's musical comeback, which began with his March 2025 album, Based on a True Story. 'If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage,' Smith raps in the track. 'Jokers dish it out, cry out when it's time to take it, City full of real ones wasn't raised to fake it.' While Smith doesn't mention Rock by name, the reference to public disrespect on stage closely mirrors the Oscars moment that saw him slap the comedian over a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The 94th Academy Awards in March 2022 made global headlines after Smith walked on stage and struck Rock during his hosting gig, yelling, 'Keep my wife's name out your f**king mouth!' The fallout included Smith's resignation from the Academy and a ten-year ban from attending its events. Smith's return to music started earlier this year with Based on a True Story and continued in June with the release of his single, 'Pretty Girls.' The freestyle marks his most direct lyrical reference yet to the Oscars controversy. While both Smith and Rock have made public comments about the incident in the years since, this verse signals that the event continues to resonate with Smith creatively — and may still be shaping his public narrative.

Robbie Williams drops major hint he's making surprise Glastonbury appearance

Robbie Williams has convinced fans he's planning a surprise set at Glastonbury. The Rock DJ hitmaker, who is in the midst of his Britpop summer tour, has got everyone talking after sharing a photo of a new plaque commemorating his wild weekend partying with Liam Gallagher at Worthy Farm in 1995. He shared a photo of the tongue in cheek plaque, which reads: 'Robbie Williams entered this area without accreditation, authorisation, or alignment with prevailing taste. 'His presence was uninvited, unofficial and ultimately inevitable.' What really got the rumour mill going even more was his caption, as he teased: '30 YEARS LATER… 🕵️‍♂️' Not surprisingly, fans have gone wild at the idea, particularly with a 30-min slot unaccounted for on the Pyramid stage at 4:55pm this afternoon. 'I dare yaaaaa! 🙈😂 I know there is a massive chance you are on the wind up but would be so iconic 💫,' wrote @LeanneP18604 on X, as @JayStill4 asked: '30 years later blue plaque in the backstage area Is @robbiewilliams the secret act this year?' Another fan, @Sophia_dreams58, gave him the Sunday name treatment, replying: 'ROBERT ARE YOU AT GLASTO 😱 (sic)' Meanwhile, @jame_2206 pondered: 'So… What's going on? Glasto-post, he's free today (Belgium is tomorrow) and this strange TBA slot on today's lineup (although time and duration are a bit odd).' Over on Instagram, people were loving that Robbie dropped hints of a new guitar-heavy song Spies on the post. Haim, Pulp, Lewis Capaldi and The Wombats are also among those rumoured for a potential secret set. The former Take That star has only played Glastonbury once before, when he graced the Pyramid Stage in 1998, belting out the likes of Let Me Entertain You, Lazy Days, Live Thru A Lens and Angels. Three years earlier, Robbie and then-pal Liam reportedly spent a weekend together at Glastonbury shortly before he quit the boy band. 'I went to Glastonbury to begin what I didn't know was to be the start of my new life. When I was there, I hung out with this lot,' he said before playing Oasis hit Don't Look Back In Anger at London's O2 Arena in 2022. The friendship didn't last long after Liam's brother and bitter rival Noel Gallagher branded the Better Man star 'the fat dancer from Take That'. Robbie got his own back when he sent a wreath to the brothers after his 2003 concerts at Knebworth beat their record by selling out three shows in a row. A few years later, Liam started dating Nicole Appleton – who was Robbie's ex-girlfriend. More Trending During an appearance at the Brit Awards in 2000, the rivalry reached its peak when the Feel singer cheekily offered to fight the Don't Look Back In Anger star for £100,000. Now, he's on his Britpop summer stint to promote his album of the same name right as the Gallagher brothers are about to start their own reunion tour. Never change, Robbie. Got a story? 'Ancestors rolling in their graves': Bride and groom play Rock, Paper, Scissors, to solve surname dispute at the altar in viral video

A British couple has gone viral for playing a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors at their wedding to decide whose surname they would use, with footage of the moment dividing the internet. The unconventional scene unfolded at the altar in front of stunned guests, as the couple ditched tradition in favour of a "best of three" battle to determine the family name. "Ro Sham Bo to see who takes whose last name, Hunter versus Pearce," a wedding guest can be heard saying of the game in the video shared to social media. The groom, Pearce, won the first round, but it was ultimately the bride, Hunter, who emerged victorious. "Congratulations Mr and Mrs Hunter," reads the on-screen caption as the crowd erupts in cheers and the couple embrace. While many Western traditions still see the woman taking her husband's surname after marriage, more couples in recent years have been choosing alternatives. The playful clip has sparked widespread commentary online, with users both applauding and criticising the move. "Ancestors rolling in their graves at this," one user wrote, while another commented, "Oh god, imagine the parents' reaction". "I don't understand why this should be something to compete for," said a third. Others hailed the moment as a refreshing display of gender equality. "Love this! Let's normalise this kind of secure masculinity! Solid green flag," one Instagram user said. "Everyone going like 'omg no a lineage will end', as if that isn't what has been happening for centuries every time a woman has to step away from her last name," wrote another. Some suggested joining the names together: "They should just double-barrel it." Others simply called the move "fun". "These commenters are boring. This is fun! And taking the woman's last name is normal- it's 2025," one seemingly progressive user said. While comprehensive data on the trend in Australia remains limited, Flinders University associate professor Yvonne Corcoran-Nantes told the ABC in 2016 that more than 80 per cent of Australian women still adopt their husband's surname after marriage. Similar statistics have emerged abroad. A 2023 Pew Research Centre report found 80 per cent of women in heterosexual marriages in the US took their husband's name, while a 2019 UK survey referenced in Sage Journals reported the number was closer to 90 per cent. South Australian marriage celebrant Camille Abbott, who has over 15 years' experience, told the AFR in 2021 that women taking their husband's surname remains by far the "most common practice" in heterosexual marriages. "Planning to have a family together in the future and wanting to share the same last name often motivates females to decide to change their last name after marriage," she said. In 2021, Melbourne-based social media influencer and entrepreneur Laura Henshaw and her husband, Dalton Graham, opted to take her last name on their wedding day. "The decision was pretty straightforward but to so many it was a shock," Henshaw said at the time.

Former Texas A&M star Dylan Rock sets Atlantic League home run streak record

Several former Texas A&M baseball players are making waves in the minor league system. From Braden Montgomery smashing lasers from both sides of the plate to Evan Aschenbeck tossing scoreless gems, the Aggies are climbing the ranks quickly. Most recently, former Texas A&M outfielder Dylan Rock etched his name into the Atlantic League record books. In Wednesday's 11–8 victory over the Charleston Dirty Birds, Rock went deep for his seventh straight game, a new league record. It was his only hit of the night, but a historic one, nonetheless. Rock's resurgence comes after a tough month in which his batting average dipped to a season-low .209. Since then, he's been red-hot, recording at least one hit in each of the last 23 games, including five multi-hit efforts. His average has climbed back to .263, and he's up to 12 home runs on the year. You can watch the record-setting blast below. Beauty fix: I want to bring my full skincare routine with me on holidays — can I just decant everything into little bottles?

Surprisingly, the answer to that is no, says Jennifer Rock, The Skin Nerd and founder of Skingredients. 'In principle,' she says, 'decanting your products is beyond genius, but in practice, it's just not a safe way to work with skincare, particularly for anything active. It compromises stability, potency and efficacy of the product. 'You're exposing ingredients to air and oxygen and also, when these products are formulated, they are checked and tested over and over in exactly the packaging it arrives in. We don't know how it will react with your little bottles, so with your actives in particular, like vitamin C, retinol, even your moisturiser, no.' You can decant away with your less ingredient-led stuff, such as shampoo, body wash, 'maybe your cleanser', Rock says. I'm going carry-on luggage and can't bring the bathroom cabinet, what are the must-haves? Carry-on luggage rules, when it comes to toiletries, skincare and make-up, mean that we can bring a single (approximately 20 x 20cm) plastic bag of liquids, gels and pastes into the cabin of the plane. As we all know, this little bag fills up fast, but it's worth noting that liquid, gel or paste medications can go into a separate bag with a prescription or doctor's letter. Also, these are the rules laid out by Dublin Airport and may differ in other countries and airports. Rock says she is the opposite of whittled-down when it comes to travelling with her toiletries, but her top advice is to prioritise your active skincare products – acids, serums, antioxidants, retinol – and, if you're going somewhere sunny, keep sun protection as your core concern. Does vitamin C really help with sun protection? 'Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and a natural photo [light] protector,' says Rock. 'So putting it on in the morning under your SPF helps to boost the resilience of your skin against excessive light. 'Antioxidants are crucial,' she says. 'The sun is beautiful and I'm not anti it, but it's the most oxidising piece we are exposed to, particularly on holiday.' Sun exposure causes oxidative stress, which damages skin cells and drives ageing and sometimes disease of those cells. Antioxidants create a protective barrier to stressors like UV rays before they can cause damage. Vitamin C is the antioxidant we hear about most and it's a key bit of your sun-holiday kit. Look for a 10-20pc level of vitamin C in your serum, she says, for good effectiveness. Some other antioxidants to look out for are vitamin E, niacinamide or ferulic acid. If retinol makes skin sensitive to sun, should I leave mine at home? Retinol is brilliant for diminishing the signs of sun damage, but because it promotes cell turnover, the new skin cells can be more sun sensitive. However, this does not mean you can't use your retinol on a sun holiday. It just means you have to be extra careful with sun protection. She advises against bringing too many acids on holiday, because they can be irritating in heat and sun, but Rock says she uses both vitamin C and retinol at night on holiday. This is harmless because she trusts herself to use her SPF and use it properly. So sun protection is the must-pack? 'SPF is the non-negotiable for the skin cancer stats, and also from the point of view of accelerating lines, wrinkles, redness and pigmentation,' Rock says, 'and the key thing to emphasise is the importance of reapplication and that's how much and how often. 'The average adult-size body needs 33ml of SPF for proper coverage and that's reapplied at most every two hours, or more often if you're swimming or sweating a lot. So if you think about 33ml each time, you're going to use more than one 100ml bottle on a week's holiday.' Remember, you can always buy big bottles of SPF at your destination, and the same goes for items like cleanser, body wash or deodorant. Skingredients 15% Vit C, E + Tri-Mushroom Brightening Anti-Ageing Booster 30ml, €45, and pharmacies nationwide This latest launch from the trailblazing Irish skincare brand contains antioxidant vitamins E and C – with the latter at an impressive concentration – but with the addition of reishi, chaga and cordyceps mushroom extracts. These are also antioxidants, as well as helping to reduce inflammation. Heliocare 360˚ Pigment Solution Fluid SPF50+ 50ml, €32.24, Boots, selected pharmacies This is an excellent sun-care brand, with a huge range of products for all ages, skin types and SPF needs. This product offers broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays, but also has antioxidants, including niacinamide, an ingredient that is good for dark spots, with a lightly tinted, non-oily finish. Aveeno Calm + Restore Gentle PHA Exfoliating Cleanser, RRP€12.99, available nationwide Layering on the SPF can lead to a slightly congested skin, so a lightly exfoliating cleanser can be a holiday godsend. Some acids are a bit too strong in sun-drenched situations, but PHA (polyhydroxy acid) is gentle but effective in clearing dead skin cells without irritation. This is also a brand you can find easily anywhere in Europe or America.
