EXCLUSIVE Fears for another Channel Ten star after network swung the axe on fellow six-figure hosts Jonathan LaPaglia and Rodger Corser
There are fears for Beau Ryan inside Channel Ten after executives swung the axe on his Top Gear co-host Jonathan LaPaglia and shelved the series. The longtime The Amazing Race Australia host, 40, stepped away from his Triple M Sydney radio show in March to film the upcoming 'Celebrity Edition' season. Beau has hosted the show since it premiered on Ten in 2019, five years after Channel Seven cancelled the series. 'There's genuine concern for the former NRL player-turned-TV presenter who has made a steady income out of hosting the competition-based reality series that sees him flown all around the world,' a well-placed source tells Daily Mail Australia. 'Beau's got the support of his mates – JLP and Rodger Corser are both rooting for him, but no one feels safe at Network Ten right now.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In a 2021 interview on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, the former league star revealed he was paid $800,000 to host Amazing Race. 'When you are getting paid for something, you look at the hours. How long are we working here,' he explained. Kyle Sandilands asked: 'Is that what you do? Do you look at that with The Amazing Race and consider how long [you're away for]?' 'Yeah,' Beau said. '[I was away] for two to three months and I got paid $800,000.' With veteran hosts Jonathan LaPaglia and Rodger Corser both axed in quick succession, Beau's friends are concerned he could be next. Rodger was quietly 'let go' from Ten after quirky reality show The Traitors was cancelled at the end of 2024. The Doctor Doctor and Underbelly star, 52, is now hosting Channel Nine's hugely successful game show, The Floor. Insiders say these cloak-and-dagger firings are more about bean counting than a routine changing of the guard for 'fresher faces'. Network Ten reportedly didn't take well to the increased salary demands floated by some agents and management of their stars earlier this year, with insiders suggesting those negotiations backfired. While Robert Irwin's co-hosting gig on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! has been a success, his price tag will reportedly triple by the time contracts are back up for negotiation— making decision-makers think twice. 'Management is trimming budgets back by letting go of high-priced talent,' one source told Daily Mail Australia. 'This is a network being told to tighten the purse strings. They're not just replacing people for the sake of it. They're being strategic. It's about value, longevity and connecting with younger viewers.' But Beau was in high spirits when he spoke to Daily Mail Australia about the future of The Amazing Race this week. 'Celebrity Edition is an incredible series filmed in some of the most epic locations,' he said. 'We have a great line-up of teams. 'Also, a location that is a first for The Amazing Race franchise history. It's next level.' The father-of-two added: 'It's always tough to leave my family for filming.' 'It was tough to leave the guys at Triple M for the five weeks. I love the show, the listeners, and the team. 'Hopefully, the next season of Amazing Race films in the [radio] survey break so I don't miss much time on-air.' 'That's something the guys at Triple M and Paramount help me juggle. They know Amazing Race Australia is a show that's been a part of my life and schedule for the last six years.' However, conversations around The Amazing Race's future have reportedly become more urgent. While Beau remains a popular on-screen presence, the show's ratings haven't matched its production spend in recent years. As one veteran producer said: 'It's not about who's best anymore. It's about who's best for budget and branding.' Meanwhile, Top Gear is still up in the air with Ten's streaming partner Paramount+. 'There were talks [season two filming] could be the end of this year,' Beau revealed. 'But it is such a big show with plenty of planning so now it looks like it will be 2026 or 2027. We will have to wait and see.' Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Ten for comment. The latest news inside Ten comes after Jonathan LaPaglia confirmed he lost his hosting gig on Australian Survivor last month. The 55-year-old, who has fronted the hit show since 2016, will make his final appearance on the upcoming season, Australia V The World, set to air later this year. In a lengthy Instagram post, Jonathan said he was shocked by Channel Ten's decision to let him go. 'I have no doubts Jonathan will be in another hosting gig whenever he is ready,' Beau told Daily Mail Australia. 'He is an incredible talent and you can see by the overwhelming support how loved he is.' The former league star confirmed he called JLP as soon as he heard the news. 'I did speak to him as he is a great man and close friend. He knows I am always here for him, as he is for me.' 'We are thrilled to have Beau Ryan as Network 10 talent,' a spokesperson for Network 10 told Daily Mail Australia. 'As per every year, announcements regarding our future content slate will be revealed at our Upfront, so stay tuned to hear more about the return of our... epic reality formats for 2026.'

TV host Rodger Corser reportedly shown the door at Channel Ten as the network continues to shed high-profile talent
Rodger Corser has reportedly been shown the door at Channel Ten, joining the list of talent being cut as the network continues to shed staff. Channel Nine swooped the popular 52-year-old TV host from under Ten's nose to host its top-rating game show, The Floor Australia, in 2025. The switch came after Corser's previous show, The Traitors, was not renewed for another season with Ten after just two series in 2022-23. It's understood Ten had still left the door open for Corser to return to host the reality game show should it ever make a return to screens. However, a source who spoke to Woman's Day on Monday said the network has now 'quietly let go' of Corser as host of The Traitors. The TV star is said to be wondering whether his move to Nine was ultimately the deciding factor for the bosses at Ten to show him the door. A TV insider told Woman's Day the network has been 'cleaning house' of its highest-earning talent to slash budget and 'freshen up' its shows. 'Essentially anyone with anything close to six zeroes (salary) has been let go,' a source said. The development comes as Survivor Australia fans are still reeling over Ten's axing of host Jonathan La Paglia in June. The show's producers told the TV veteran he was out of a job via a "clinical" and "cold" email, Daily Mail Australia reported. Australian Survivor: All-Stars champion David Genat is tipped to replace La Paglia, but insiders have said he "doesn't fit the brief" as host. "He's charismatic, sure - but Survivor needs someone with gravitas," a source told Daily Mail Australia. "David is not Jonathan, and viewers will notice that." Australian Survivor, which features a group of contestants called "castaways" living in an isolated outdoor location in Samoa where they must gather food, water, fire, and shelter while competing in challenges for awards and immunity, has recently struggled with a ratings slump. The last season, Brains vs. Brawn II, saw viewership dip to 486,000 total overnight viewers, a far cry from the many millions it attracted in its prime. It closely follows 10 News+, Ten's new current affairs news program 10News+, having also failed to gain viewers during its first week on air. 10 News+ replaced The Project in June, launching with an average national broadcast audience of 291,000 viewers. The show lost 47,000 viewers the following evening, bringing its national average to 244,000 viewers. That figure dipped to 205,000 on the third night and continued to decline, with a further drop to 159,000 recorded on Thursday. Ten's hopes for a comeback on Friday were dashed when a mere 152,000 people tuned in, or a decrease of 139,000 viewers compared to Monday. The fall in viewership is especially stark when compared to The Project's final episode on June 27, which saw 478,000 people tune in. A Ten spokesperson told the network was 'taking a long-term, multi-platform view of audience development.' 'Building a loyal news audience takes time, and we are prepared for gradual growth as audiences discover and connect with our unique approach to news delivery across many platforms,' the spokesperson said. '10 is fully committed to 10 News+. This is a marathon, not a sprint. "We are investing in building a sustainable, quality multi-platform news service that will grow and evolve with our audience's needs over time.' has contacted Ten and Rodger Corser for comment.

The Floor winner Patrick details the gross finale act he regrets doing... as he reveals how he plans to spend the $200,000 cash prize
Popular new Channel Nine game show The Floor crowned its first winner this week, with contestant Patrick Neasey walking away with a $200,000 cash prize. However, despite the windfall, Patrick has revealed he was left feeling embarrassed by his post-win victory celebration. After defeating MasterChef star Amina Elshafei in a final best-of-three round, Patrick was led back onto the floor by host Rodger Corser. In his excitement, Patrick then knelt down and kissed the floor that contestants had been standing on - an act, he told Nine, that would haunt him forever. 'When I walked back down to the The Floor with Rodger, I kneel down and kiss The Floor,' Patrick explained. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I'm very embarrassed about that now, but whatever, I will just have to wear that as part of the prize,' he said. Patrick added that his embarrassment was only fleeting, saying that after thinking about his win with more 'clarity' was happy to have made his family back home proud. 'And also, the people who were still there in the room chanting my name – it was a great feeling and probably something I'll never experience again,' he said. 'So yeah, it was just shock and happiness and pride.' It all came down to the wire for Patrick, who faced off against Amina in a best-of-three round. Patrick won the first - History Makers - while Amina took out the Veggies category. It was then down to World Leaders, with Patrick emerging victorious. Speaking about the inaugural winner, host Rodger Corser said Patrick's intellect was 'undeniable'. 'Though Patrick flew under the radar for many nights, he took his opportunities when it counted,' Rodger said. In his excitement, Patrick then knelt down and kissed the floor - an act, he told Nine , that would haunt him forever. 'His knowledge and intellect were undeniable, but his strategic game was even stronger; no one was cooler under pressure…so much so that I had to check for a pulse at one stage. A very well-deserved winner!' Patrick added that winning the first season of the popular Nine game show felt 'incredible.' However, he added that while chuffed with the cash prize, it wasn't the biggest reward. 'I put a lot of study into categories like Girl Groups, History Makers, and World Leaders, so to see that pay off is incredibly satisfying,' he said. 'But honestly, the biggest reward isn't the money — it's the friendships I made, the memories from the show, and knowing my family and friends are proud of what I achieved.' As for his cash prize, Patrick said that he plans to invest his $200,000 windfall as well as take on a road trip along the Alaska Highway. The show has proved a ratings hit for Nine, with the show attracting a whopping 2.2million viewers for its April 28 premiere - breaking the national total reach record. The Floor continued that success throughout the season, regularly attracting more than a million viewers. The show is a Dutch format featuring 81 players standing on 81 individual squares. Each contestant uses their general knowledge to try to acquire all the squares, with the player who succeeds in doing so over the course of the season wins the game. The US version of The Floor began on FOX in 2024 and is hosted by actor Rob Lowe. It was recently reported that another major Nine star could be eyeing off Rodger Corser's hosting job. Insiders at Nine have revealed that Today host Karl Stefanovic is keen to take on the gig. Sources at Nine revealed to News Corp last month that Karl had shown interest in hosting after appearing on a promo of the prime time hit ahead of the show's April 28 premiere.

Today host Karl Stefanovic eyeing new role on Nine's biggest show amid contract negotiations
He is Nine's well-known breakfast TV star. And now there's speculation that Karl Stefanovic is seeking to get a permanent spot on the network's latest ratings hit. Insiders at Nine have revealed that the 50-year-old media veteran wants Rodger Corser's place as host of The Floor Australia. The family friendly game show has been Nine's number one entertainment program since it debuted late last month. Sources at Nine revealed to on Friday that Karl has shown interest in hosting the program after appearing on a promo of the prime time hit ahead of the show's April 28 premiere. Insiders told the publication that Nine management, who are due to negotiate with Karl over his current $3million contract, were left unsure how to respond to the stars interest in taking on Corser's role. Insiders at Nine have revealed that the 50-year-old media veteran wants Rodger Corser's (pictured) place as host on prime time ratings winner The Floor Australia Corser appeared in the promo on The Floor set in which Karl was seen 'duelling' with his Today co-host Sarah Abo on the topic of 'breakfast foods'. Sarah beat Karl in their first round, but the TV host made a comeback in their second round, where the pair were quizzed on bands. It comes after The Floor Australia has proven to be a massive - and surprising - prime time ratings winner for Nine. The quiz show has won its 7.30pm slot ever since it dropped three weeks ago. Based on a hugely successful Dutch format that spawned a hit US iteration featuring 80s star Rob Lowe, the Aussie version scored a staggering 1,171,000 viewers nationally when it debuted on April 28. Over on Seven, long-running dating show Farmer Wants a Wife got nowhere near its new rival on the same night, attracting an average Total TV national audience of 833,000. Screening on Mondays and Tuesday evenings, the trivia game is the biggest entertainment show on Australian TV right now. For three weeks, it has finished in the third spot in the Total TV Overnight Top 30 Programs survey. Tuesday's episode pulled in an average national audience of 1,073,000 while Farmer Wants A Wife managed 764,000 viewers across the country. The Total TV national audience combines audience averages calculated by networks in the metro and regional areas on free-to-air television and broadcast video on demand. While the show has shed viewers over the last few weeks it remains enormously successful. Created as an elimination game that starts with 81 contestants, players have a chance to win $200,000 in prize money. Using a large floor with coloured tiles that flash topics, contestants go head-to-head as they are tested on topics such as Australian cuisine, famous characters, and gold medallists.
