Roger Vivier Collaborates With Maison Lesage for Pièce Unique

Roger Vivier's archives already offer ample inspiration for the brand's creative director Gherardo Felloni, but this season was a double-whammy for his Pièce Unique collection of one-off designs. In collaboration with long-standing house partner Maison Lesage, with which he worked to develop the eight bags and two gilets in the collection this season, he was able to tap the storied embroidery specialist's back catalog for inspiration, as well as its archive of materials and components, making each precious design all the more unique. 'All of these stones don't exist anymore on the market,' Felloni enthused during a presentation. 'For Pièce Unique, they opened the archive and said you can use any quantities that we have.' A multitude of complex techniques came into play thanks to Lesage's expertise and both companies' archives, with each piece inspired by a specific design from the past and crafted by hand in Italy and France, with Lesage's artisans embroidering directly onto the bags themselves. The tiny, folded and pleated silk organza blossoms stitched onto a background of lilac silk were in reference to a hat in the Lesage archive. Hand-beaded, gold-threaded iterations on green velvet for La Vertueuse came from a vintage cape. On La Passionnée, blossoms were draped and sculpted by hand from silk mousseline or hand-embroidered with tiny beads. L'Ephemere, inspired by a dress in the Lesage archives and developed as both bag and gilet, featured pale colors evoking the fading of time and a combination of silk, muslin and wire embroideries and twists, hand-painted and overlaid with delicate strands of feathers. On La Tendre, hundreds of coral-colored glass beads from the '60s shivered. The buckles and handles for each piece were also crafted by hand and set with semiprecious stones including onyx, citrine and amethyst. Melania Trump looks effortlessly chic as she dons $900 ballet flats for surprise visit to children's hospital

Melania Trump looked effortlessly chic and summery as she made a surprise visit to the patients at the Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C., on Thursday. The First Lady stunned in a pleated, black-and-white polka dot blouse, which she tucked into a a cream, knee-length skirt. However, the star of the show was her pair of cream-colored Roger Vivier ballerina flats, which featured the designer brand's signature silver buckle on the toes. The expensive flats retail for €750, which is equivalent to around $881 USD. Melania completed the look with a light makeup look and mauve lipstick, wearing her hair in soft waves. During the appearance, Melania painted rocks and made other Fourth of July-themed arts and crafts with the kids and their families. She even cracked a joke about her her husband's love of golf when kids asked if she shared the President Donald Trump's love of the sport. 'No, I don't play golf,' she laughed. The First Lady also appeared to give the patients teddy bears that were holding small American Flags, as they posed together for pictures. Melania even invited the group to come to the White House for the 250th Independence Day celebration next year on July 4, 2026 and told them about the upcoming celebration including the fireworks show and F14 flyovers. During the morning, she also took a walk with the kids and the hospital's President and CEO, Michelle Riley-Brown, per ABC 7's WJLA, and visited the hospital's Bunny Mellon Healing Garden. Her visit to the children's hospital comes as her husband is attempting to pass his 'Big Beautiful Bill' through the House, which, in part, will cut federal spending on Medicaid. Of course, this is not the first time that Melania has visited this children's hospital - it's a long-standing tradition that all First Ladies do so. Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and Hillary Clinton all visited the hospital often when their husbands were in office. During her husband's first term, Melania would often visit the hospital at Christmastime. In 2020, she read the children a holiday-themed book, per CNN, but took off her mask to do so, which was against the hospital's policy at the time due to the coronavirus pandemic. When she shared her goodbye with the American public in 2021 after her husband was not reelected, she reflected on how much visiting the children's hospitals throughout her time as First Lady meant to her. 'I have been moved by children I have visited in hospitals and foster care centers,' she wrote at the time. 'Even as they fight difficult illnesses or face challenges, they bring such a joy to everyone they meet,' Melania shared. After the hospital visit, she is set to join President Trump in the Oval Office to meet with freed Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander and his family. Alexander was held hostage by Hamas for 584 days in Gaza and was released in May as a 'good will gesture,' by the terrorist group. On Friday, the first lady and the president will host a military picnic on the South Lawn and view the fireworks that evening.

Teri Hatcher, 60, displays super-smooth tight face at amfAR Gala in Cannes - after insisting she's ditched filler and Botox

Teri Hatcher displayed her super-smooth tight skin at the annual amfAR Cannes Film Festival Gala on Thursday night. The 60-year-old Desperate Housewives star, who insisted she ditched filler and Botox back in 2010, looked incredibly radiant and glowing at the glitzy event. She showcased her incredibly glowy complexion as she arrived at the gala, wearing a glamorous thigh-high split black gown, teamed with a Roger Vivier clutch bag. Teri has sparked plastic surgery rumours over the years as the star continues to be ageing in reverse. But the actress previously provided picture evidence to prove to her fans she no longer touches filler or Botox. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Posting a picture of her makeup-free face in 2010 on Instagram, the star hit back at trolls who kept insisting she's toyed with plastic surgery. She said: 'Thought about all those damn critics of my face. Love it or hate it, my face that is, no surgery, no implants, no matter what "they" say. 'Decided I'd shoot myself to reveal some truths about "beauty" and hope it makes you all easier on yourself.' She added: 'Oh look I can raise my eyebrows and wrinkles show up on my forehead. I can also look like a monkey if I put grapes in my upper lip. 'It's really funny. I have to say I can't remember ever being upset enough to look like this, but I'm just making or shall I say "under LINING" a point.' However, Teri did confess to experimenting with fillers and Botox when she was younger, adding: 'Did I every toy with fillers or Botox over the years? Yes. '(But) tell me does this look Botoxed to you? Yes I am alone in my bathroom naked in a towel on behalf of women everywhere trying to make a point. 'Women YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.' But the actress previously provided picture evidence to prove to her fans she no longer touches filler or Botox Teri also revealed that the key to many good photos of celebrities including herself was not surgery, or make-up, but good lighting. In 2020, Teri credited the Clarins Super Restorative Instant Lift Serum Mask for keeping her skin glowing and wrinkle-free. She told Marie Claire the mask is what gives her an 'instant face lift' and is the secret to her anti-aging looks. 'I feel the most beautiful when I am being my most authentic self', Teri told the publication. 'When I'm treating myself well, eating right, exercising, being creative, and being social with a community of people that I really care about—all of those things drive towards self-acceptance.' Teri also insisted drinking three litres of water per day is what helps her looking radiant and glowing.
