Baran collector visits flood-hit villages, reviews relief measures

Kota: Amid continuous heavy rainfall in Baran, district collector Rohitashwa Singh Tomar, Wednesday, visited flood-affected villages to assess the ground situation and oversee relief measures.
Accompanied by ADM Jabbar Singh and other officials, Tomar toured Ahmadi, Ahmada, Haripura, and Maloti villages, interacting with local residents and issuing necessary instructions to concerned departments.
He reviewed essential services such as drinking water, electricity, and food ration supply, and inspected waterlogged areas, rivers, ponds, and rain-damaged roads. Immediate repair work on damaged culverts and roads has been ordered.
Under his direction, arrangements for food, clean drinking water, and temporary shelters have been made for the affected families. The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) is supplying water through tankers, and ration kits are being distributed to ensure no shortage of basic necessities.
At Ahmadi Dam, the collector directed officials to expand and lower the dam's best weir and clear debris fallen toward the forest area.

He also ordered urgent gravel-laying on the kutcha road connecting Ahmadi to Ahmada.
Over 100 families from submerged areas have been relocated to Bajranggarh hostel. Tehsil-level officials have been instructed to conduct damage surveys for prompt financial assistance.
In Haripura and Maloti, villagers reported electricity disruptions. The collector ordered immediate restoration of power. In Maloti, where poles have been damaged, restoration may take 8–10 days.
The gram panchayat has been instructed to ensure uninterrupted water supply through alternative arrangements. Additionally, 18 Sahariya families from submerged areas of Haripura are being shifted to safer locations.
PHED has been directed to supply water every two hours via tankers in the affected areas. Tomar assured that the administration is on high alert and extending all necessary support.
