More info Oasis ' iconic hit Don't Look Back in Anger has been named the band's most played song on UK radio and TV in the 21st century, according to music licensing company, Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL). It comes as Edinburgh gears up to welcome the band to the city next month as a part of their highly anticipated reunion tour, which kicked off in Cardiff last week- marking their first performance together in almost 16 years, reports the Daily Record. The licensing company compiled a list of the top 10 most played songs from the band in the past 25 years. PPL, which licenses the use of recorded music across UK radio, TV and public venues, compiled the list using two decades' worth of airplay data. The result is a definitive chart of Oasis' most broadcasted songs since 2000. Coming in second is the stellar hit Wonderwall, followed by She's Electric in third place. Roll With It and Little By Little round out the top five. Also making the top 10 are The Importance of Being Idle, Whatever, Some Might Say, Live Forever and Champagne Supernova, which closes out the list. Sign up for Edinburgh Live newsletters for more headlines straight to your inbox Remarkably, six of the top 10 songs come from the band's legendary 1995 album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, which remains the UK's fifth best selling album of all time, according to the Official Charts Company. The PPL data also found that Oasis have built up more than seven years of cumulative airplay on UK radio and TV stations since 2000, with their songs being played, on average, 120 times per day across the country. Peter Leathem, chief executive of PPL, praised the band's cultural significance, saying: "Oasis are one of the most iconic, era-defining bands we have ever seen." "They dominated the 1990s and 2000s, and for many, they personified those decades, but their timeless songs continue to resonate with audiences even long after their release," he continued. He added: "With their reunion tour underway, this chart provides the perfect opportunity to look back in admiration at the enduring impact of their music throughout this century, and to celebrate one of the greatest British bands of all time." The band performed together at Cardiff's Principality Stadium last weekend for the first time since their dramatic split in 2009, which was prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in France. Noel and Liam Gallagher will continue their tour heading to their own city - Manchester - for five sold-out nights at Heaton Park. However their UK and Ireland tour has received some backlash from fans who were outraged after standard ticket prices jumped from £148 to £355. In response, the UK Government and the Competition and Markets Authority pledged to review the issue. The band's world tour, Oasis Live '25, will see the band perform at Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park throughout July, August and September before heading to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia and North America.

Noel Gallagher's daughter reacts to adorable family moment at Oasis gig

Noel and Liam Gallagher's band Oasis are official back on tour for the first time in more than two decades, with thousands of fans travelling to see them perform Oasis star Noel Gallagher's daughter Anais has shared her sweet reaction to her cameo at their Heaton Park gig last night. She took to her Instagram to share a clip as she attended her dad's concert, watching on in the crowd to support her dad. The 25-year-old posted the video which featured the Oasis stage at Heaton Park as they performed in their native Manchester. In the clip, a tiny voice could be heard saying "That's rock 'n' roll baby" – which Anais revealed was a recording of herself at seven years old. ‌ She captioned the post: "That's my little 7 year old voice" as she shared a cute face emoji to react to the touching moment. Across the night Anais shared a collection of clips and photos of her dad – who she branded the 'coolest' – while performing at the reunion tour. ‌ Oasis have recently embarked on their come-back tour after not performing together for more than two decades. Liam and Noel had infamously been feuding ever since the band split back in 2009. ‌ The pair announced last year that they would be going on tour 16 years after splitting. At the time of the announcement, they shared a video to promote the comeback when Liam was heard saying: "When we both come together, you have greatness." Noel then says: "I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening." The brothers started their reunion tour in Cardiff and performed some of their biggest hits during the first show. Their set list consisted of hits such as Roll With It, Fade Away, Morning Glory and Stand By Me. They began the show with their song Hello. However, some fans weren't too happy while watching the latest show at Heaton Park last night. ‌ Liam was met with jeers during the epic Oasis homecoming gig, but it wasn't his music that ruffled feathers. The gig took an unexpected turn when Liam paused to make a heartfelt dedication. Liam announced: "I'd like to dedicate this to the greatest manager of all time, Mr Pep Guardiola." The shoutout caused some unrest among the fans which lead to boos. However, Liam wasn't too offended as he fired back: "Who you f***ing booing, who you f***ing booing." The camera then focused on a life-size cut-out of Pep Guardiola wearing a Man City scarf, which was displayed on stage. ‌ However, the crowd then broke into laughter and Liam kicked off a rendition of D'You Know What I Mean. Adding to the excitement, Pep Guardiola himself was seen backstage, mingling with the Gallaghers, including Noel's daughter and Liam's sons. A weather warning was issued for the concert due to the UK heatwave this weekend. Concert organisers tole fans to stage hydrated and wear sun screen. The warning then told concert goers to "wear a (bucket) hat" as well as to stay in the shade when possible. It finished with saying: "Look after yourself and look after each other."

Damon Albarn: Oasis won the battle and the war

Damon Albarn has "conceded defeat" to Oasis. The 57-year-old singer's band Blur had a huge rivalry with the Live Forever hitmakers in the 1990s - which culminated with the so-called Battle of Britpop, when both groups released singles in the same week in 1995, with Blur's Country House ultimately taking the number one slot ahead of Oasis' Roll With It - but now Damon has hailed his former foes "the winners" following the huge demand for tickets for their reunion tour this summer. He told The Sun newspaper: 'Well, it was obvious, wasn't it? 'I think we can officially say that Oasis won the battle, the war, the campaign, everything. 'They are the winners. They take first place. In the face of such overwhelming evidence, I am happy to accept and concede defeat. 'It's their summer and God bless them. I hope everyone has a wonderful time but I'm going to be in a very, very different place.' Damon warned his former rivals that they may find their reunion more emotional than they expect to, which he did when Blur played two gigs at London's Wembley Stadium two years ago, and is in awe of them for booking so many shows. He said: 'I couldn't do as many gigs as they're doing. That's a lot of the same emotion. 'They're very brave and I hope it's worth it. You know, money isn't everything.' While the Gorillaz and Africa Express frontman thinks the Britpop days of the 1990s were more "joyous" than the current time, he isn't particularly interested in looking back. He said: 'I'm not being funny but it does feel like a more innocent, joyous age than now. "Nostalgia's OK but I try and stay away from it as much as possible. Sometimes you can't help but be lost in it.' Damon has been busy working with his Africa Express collective and he relishes not having to be the "centre of attention" with the group. He said: 'I killed Damon the pop star many years ago. It was a gentle death. I'm just not that interested in being the centre of attention. 'Don't get me wrong, I embrace it when it's necessary but it's only a bit of me. 'And Africa Express is always an amazing opportunity just to become one of many.'
