Kesha Gears Up for Tits Out Tour With Slayyyter, Rose Gray Collab, ‘Attention!'
It's time to get sleazy! On Friday, Kesha released her new single 'Attention!' featuring Rose Gray and Slayyyter in what appears to be a teaser for the high energy expected on the Tits Out Tour where both rising stars will open for Kesha. 'Love it, hate it, leave it, take it / Click on the link to see me naked,' sings Kesha before the nightclub-ready chorus. Gray and Slayyyter join in for verses, with Slayyyter declaring, 'No guest list shit, I walk in the club while everybody still outside / Big comeback like Jesus' resurrection. Can I have your attention?' More from Rolling Stone Natanael Cano Launches Urbano Era With 'Blancanieves' Cardi B Is Feisty and Ready for Summer on 'Outside' Xavi Questions If He's Really the Bad Guy on New Single 'El Malo' The song is a full-circle moment for Slayyyter, who credits Kesha for being the reason she makes music. 'My music would not exist without Kesha's Sleazy remix,' Slayyyter wrote after the song dropped. 'I can't believe we're on the same track. Dreams came true today.' Both Gray are Slayyyter are set to be openers for Kesha's upcoming Tits Out Tour with Scissor Sisters, which kicks off in July, shortly after Kesha drops her upcoming albm. 'I'm going TITS OUT this summer to bring as much safety, fun, acceptance, love, connection, and celebration to this country because we are just as much the fabric of this FREE nation as anyone else,' Kesha said as she announced the run. 'We will not be quiet, and we will fight through joy! I think it's time to make LOVE, not content. LOVE, not anger. LOVE, not hatred, and love, not war.' The new track follows the release of the NSFW video for 'Boy Crazy,' which Kesha dropped earlier this week. She's set to share her album Period, stylized as the punctuation mark (.), on July 4. She started the era with 'Joyride' last summer, followed by November's 'Delusional.' Natanael Cano Launches Urbano Era With ‘Blancanieves'
The pioneer of corridos tumbados is stepping into a different sonic space on his new album. On Friday, Natanael Cano released his single 'Blancanieves,' which hears him skipping charchetas and guitars for trappy, reggaeton beats. 'And that look tells me everything and that smile steals everything from me/And with the Jordans stepping on the mud, but I swear I'm getting out of the hole,' raps the musician on the chorus. 'And I'll steal that ass, and even if it costs me my life with lead.' More from Rolling Stone Kesha Gears Up for Tits Out Tour With Slayyyter, Rose Gray Collab, 'Attention!' Cardi B Is Feisty and Ready for Summer on 'Outside' Xavi Questions If He's Really the Bad Guy on New Single 'El Malo' The video captures Cano reminiscing about a love story with his real-life girlfriend, with whom he travels the world, lounges on beaches, arrives at lavish homes, and poses for photos aboard a private jet in the video. The lyrics capture Cano singing about his obsession with the woman, and mentioning his affinity for coke and tusi. 'Blancanieves' marks the first release off of Cano's upcoming album Por Qué La Demora, the musician's urbano album, which is expected to drop on July 1. While it's not the first time Cano steps into the urbano space, it does follow a string of corrido tumbado albums and his Ariel Camacho-celebrating album Recordando Ariel Camacho, which he dropped earlier this year. His last full album came in 2023 with Nata Montana, featuring Peso Pluma, Luis R Conriquez, and Junior H. The genre change for Cano comes as Mexican artists have seen themselves targeted by the government for singing narcocorridos. 'With all due respect, we came here to Aguascalientes to sing for you, my friend, and with all due respect to the people who are prohibiting us from singing and showcasing our art, we don't give a damn,' Cano said at a recent show in Aguascalientes. Santa Fe Klan, Saweetie Capture a ‘Real Ride-or-Die Romance' on Single ‘Locos'
Santa Fe Klan is bringing Saweetie to his barrio. On Friday, the Mexican star released his new single, 'Locos,' which features a sexy verse from the Bay Area rap queen. 'I really loved working with Saweetie—she's super cool, great vibe… I feel like we connected, and honestly, I don't think it'll be the last time we record together,' Santa Fe Klan tells Rolling Stone. 'I'd love to do more tracks with her and with other artists from over there too. I'm super motivated about everything that's coming… this is just the beginning.' (Santa and Saweetie try on jewelry and pose in front of a race car in the music video.) 'I've been a fan of Santa Fe Klan's music for a minute, and we've been looking for the right way to collaborate,' says Saweetie. ''Locos' is one of those magnetic records that pulls you in — it's passionate, and it captures the chaos of a real ride-or-die romance.' Santa Fe gushes about his time in the studio with Saweetie, saying 'everything flowed' even if they didn't speak the same language. 'We had translators helping us communicate, but more than words, it was the energy that connected us,' says Santa Fe. 'We had a great time, laughing, sharing ideas, and in the end something really special came out of it.' For Santa Fe, the Saweetie collaboration is just the latest collaboration in English for the Mexican star, who tapped Rick Ross for his last single, 'Diamonds.' 'I think these collaborations are going to help me reach different markets and continue to expand my fanbase,' says Santa Fe. 'Most of my fans are Latinos, from Mexico, but it's cool to open that door with people who speak English. I'm excited that more folks from other places can get to know me too.' He adds cheekily: 'Now the mission is to really learn English so I can start writing and singing in the langauage. I want to keep growing, break boundaries with my music, and connect with more people no matter the language.' Katseye Cat-Fight Over Jessica Alba's ‘Gabriela' in Telenovela-Inspired Video
The girls of Katseye are leaning into the fake drama fans often pit them in for their new 'Gabriela' music video. On Friday, the six-piece group released the visual for their new single, which sees them fiercely competing to become the successor to a company CEO, played by Jessica Alba. 'It was the most fun we've ever had shooting a music video. We might all have scars from the fighting scenes, but it was so worth it,' Manon tells Rolling Stone. 'We were able to fully step into a new character and not be ourselves and just play on this little narrative that some people have of us, that we all hate each other. It was fun to make fun of that a little bit.' We didn't even have to, but every day, in the middle of rehearsal, we would be like, 'Megan, come over here, I'm going to punch you,'' adds Sophia. 'We couldn't stop laughing.' 'We're fighting for our lives to not laugh,' continues Lara. The video follows the members of Katseye as chaos unfolds, as the girls fight over who should become the next CEO of Alba's company. 'We were like, 'Wow, we're such good actresses.' And then Jessica Alba came in and this is a real actress,' says Sophia. 'This is her life, and when she came in, we were like, 'Shit, we all suck. That's acting.' We were all like, 'Period!'' After battling for the CEO position, the video spirals into a fever-dream-like sequence, with the group members fighting over a mannequin, throwing vases and food at each other in true telenovela fashion. 'I feel like the song is about paying homage to telenovelas and Latin culture and for me, it's honestly such a big opportunity,' says Daniela, who's Cuban, and sings the song's chorus en español. 'I feel very honored to be able to sing in my native language and just connect with our Latino fans and that community a little bit more.' The video for 'Gabriela' comes a week before the group — comprising Lara, Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Yoonchae, and Megan — is set to release their sophomore EP, Beautiful Chaos, next Friday. Jim James Remembers Brian Wilson: ‘Thank You for Sharing Your Love With Us'
A few years ago, Jim James got to witness Brian Wilson's magic in realtime. They were in the studio together recording 'Right Where I Belong,' a song from the documentary film Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road. The record turned out to be the last original song Wilson would release in his lifetime. The musician died this week at the age of 82. It also proved to be an experience James would never forget. 'I'll never forget hearing Brian sing the song we were working on together for the first time,' James shared in a statement to Rolling Stone. 'That VOICE…hearing it pop out of the speakers in real life brought me to tears. I had to turn back into a corner and collect myself.' When 'Right Where I Belong' was released in 2021, the My Morning Jacket member put Wilson's music into the context of his own life, noting, 'It has always been there with me in celebrating life's greatest triumphs and has also sustained me through some of my darkest hours.' 'It was so WILD to see him sing in the studio…because just even being around him at all was an honor…but you'd always be wondering…WHAT was going on in his heart and his mind that perhaps he could not find words for in the 'real' world?' James said. 'And then to see it come to life! And HEAR it with crystal clarity, beyond any shadow of a doubt, see his face LIGHT UP with the music and the sweetest joy spring to glorious life and SING!' Wilson remembered their time together fondly, sharing in a statement at the time: 'I enjoyed working on the song with Jim, he was the perfect collaborator.' Wilson mastered the art of capturing the essence of summer in the simplest ways. James did the same while reflecting on their collaboration. 'It was like seeing the ocean for the first time, or maybe the sun set on the Grand Canyon,' he continued. 'It was an honor of the highest magnitude. Brian said once, 'For me, the love, that's what the music really is. I know that love is what I really want to share.' You did it Brian! Thank you for sharing your love with us.'
