MLB legend Miguel Cabrera sells incredible lakefront mansion for $3.5m just days after revealing life-changing family news
Baseball icon Miguel Cabrera is coming to the end of a rollercoaster week, after the sale of his home and a divorce from his wife were both settled within days of each other. Cabrera, who earned $393million during an incredible career - mainly with the Detroit Tigers - only retired in 2023 at the age of 41 and still works for the team's front office. Away from the world of baseball it has been a difficult few years, with TMZ reporting that his now ex-wife has been angling for a divorce for the past eight years. Rosangel first filed papers to separate from her husband after 15 years of marriage back in 2017, but then changed her mind shortly after and withdrew the request. Now, though, she has gone ahead with the split, calling their marriage 'irretrievably broken', and on June 18 a judge finalized the divorce in court. The news of his marriage ending comes at the same time as the baseball legend has put his incredible lakefront mansion up for sale - 10 years after first buying it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Skyview Experts | Southeast & West Michigan Real Estate Media (@skyviewexperts) The 6 bedroom, 10 bathroom property in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, was listed for $3,485,000 on June 19 - a day after the divorce was finalized - and sold for the asking price just 13 days later, according to Realtor. The home includes a pool, tennis courts and direct access to Lake St Clair - and was seemingly a steal for the price, given the speed with which it was sold. Cabrera is a 12-time MLB All-Star, and won the World Series in his first season as a pro with the then-Florida Marlins. He played for the Marlins for five seasons before moving on to Detroit, where he remained until his retirement 15 years later. Incredibly, he is one of just three players in MLB history to have a career batting average above .300, 500 home runs and 3,000 hits. The other two players are Hank Aaron and Willie Mays.
