'Imagine How He Treats Her In Private' – Foreigner Takes Rosyam Nor's Viral Video Out Of Context

Subscribe to our FREE Earlier this month, a video showing a 'domestic dispute' going down in a supermarket went viral on social media. It turns out, the video was just part of a marketing gimmick by ST Rosyam Mart, a chain of markets owned by actor and television host Rosyam Nor. Meanwhile, social media influencer Some viewed the marketing stunt as distasteful, as it displayed what could be seen as domestic abuse. Others thought it was insensitive towards couples who were going through real problems in their household. A foreigner saw the video and took it out of context While the incident has been debunked as a viral stunt here, enter Dahlia Kurtz. Describing herself as a 'Jew. Grandchild of Holocaust survivors' on Twitter, she posted the video yesterday, captioned: 'If her husband acts like that in public, imagine how he treats her in private.' Twitter users were quick to add context to the post, which now appears at the bottom to inform those who stumble upon her tweet that the video was just a marketing stunt. Malaysians jumped in, lamenting how Rosyam's gimmick is now painting Islam in a bad light Tengoklah.. Dah jadi fitnah kepada agama dah.. Gimik kepala otak Rosyam Noor..🤔 — JalalMisai (@jllmisai) Many in the comments section blamed the video for spreading a poor image of Islam and providing 'ammunition' to foreigners to criticise the religion even more. A user also highlighted how, in the video, the male actor was throwing food items from his 'wife's' shopping trolley, which can be perceived as disrepectful and being ungrateful towards resources that we have. Another individual warned others to be careful when creating content that could be used to spread negativity or slander upon religion. The video was meant to highlight the market's affordable prices To give an idea of what the marketing stunt was meant to communicate, the actors were 'fighting' over their shopping at ST Rosyam Mart. The man was supposedly angry that his wife was spending too much at the market, while she told him that she never gets to shop. Giving in to his anger, he hurled items from the shopping trolley and eventually flipped the entire cart on its side, spilling everything on the ground. Later, the couple 'met' Rosyam on the way out and he tried to 'settle' the dispute before telling them that his mart offers some of the cheapest prices in Malaysia, and gave a guarantee to the man that shopping there will not drive him to the poor house. What do you think of this marketing stunt? Was it effective and entertaining? Or was it done in poor taste? READ MORE: Share your thoughts with us via TRP's . Age shouldn't define a hero, says ‘Keluang Man' actor Rosyam Nor

Rosyam, famously known as 'Hero Malaya', believes an experienced actor can still add value to a production, especially when paired with younger performers. (Bernama pic) KUALA LUMPUR : Veteran producer and actor Rosyam Nor believes age should not define a leading role, and expressed hope that, with talent being a 'timeless gift', more senior actors will return to the spotlight. 'People say if I play a hero, I'm considered an 'old hero'. I disagree. There's no such thing as an old or young hero. If he's a hero, he's a hero,' said the 58-year-old, whose real name is Mohamed Noor Shamsuddin. 'In films, even if a person is 70, he or she can still be a hero,' he told reporters after the trailer launch of the live-action 'Keluang Man' movie recently. Famously known as 'Hero Malaya', Rosyam said an experienced actor can still add value to a production, especially if they are paired with younger performers. 'Therefore, give us opportunities, especially in action films. We already have our own fan base, and when combined with young actors, it can attract two groups of viewers: the old and the new.' Citing the success of the Hindi film 'Mohabbatein', which paired Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, Rosyam added that such an approach reflects generational diversity in mainstream works. He said such collaboration not only allows veteran actors to continue shining but also provides fans of all ages a reason to return to cinemas. (Astro Shaw pic) 'Some films today are too focused on the younger generation, to the point that older fans who grew up with us feel left out because there are no longer genres or figures they can watch in the cinema,' said the Best Actor winner of last year's 16th Malaysian Film Festival. Commenting on his involvement in the superhero film's first full-length release, he said he feels proud to have been given the opportunity to act in a film directed by Anwari Ashraf and adapted from the iconic 1990s cartoon series. 'This is my first superhero film, and I'm proud because it's made by a younger generation of filmmakers, adapted from an old classic, and presented on the big screen. I think the film's production set is one of the most impressive in the history of local films,' he said. He also urges local audiences to support the film, as it not only evokes nostalgia for the older generation but also introduces a local legend to younger audiences. Rosyam stars in 'Keluang Man', which is now screening in cinemas nationwide, alongside other prominent local actors including Nas-T, Remy Ishak, Shweta Sekhon, Anwaar Beg Moghal, Halim Othman, and Amelia Henderson.

Keluang Man trailer drops, cast shares expectations and what sets it apart from other local hero films

KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 — The anticipation continues to build as Malaysians eagerly await their ultimate bat hero. And no, it's not Batman, but local icon Keluang Man, finally soaring onto the big screen with its first live-action film, set to hit cinemas on May 29. Fans will be pleased to know that the official trailer has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into a hero's journey filled with action and heart. Cast insights and expectations ahead of its release With just a month to go until its premiere, Nas Muammar Zar, better known as Nas-T, shared his hopes for the film. 'First and foremost, I hope Malaysians will embrace Keluang Man and enjoy the movie,' he said. 'I also hope that after its release, the superhero genre in Malaysia will thrive and expand, introducing more superhero characters. 'I want the world to see what we're capable of creating here,' he added. Datuk Rosyam Nor said the movie has the potential to elevate Keluang Man into a cultural icon. — Picture by Sayuti Zanudin Datuk Rosyam Nor highlighted the film's potential to elevate Keluang Man as a cultural icon, saying, 'We want Keluang Man to be recognised as our national hero. 'We also hope that younger generations, who may not be familiar with the character, will be introduced to him by their fathers or older siblings, who can share how he was once a beloved animated character now brought to life on the big screen.' Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 Shweta Sekhon described how the film stands out with its unique storyline. Speaking about her experience on set, she said it had been amazing. 'Everyone's been a team; there's no such thing as 'this is your film,' but 'this is our film,' and that's a value I'll take home with me.' Keluang Man, being her second feature film, Shweta also teased that this won't be her last appearance on the big screen, with another exciting project on the horizon. How this superhero film differs from other local hero films Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, head of Astro Shaw, explained that Keluang Man is an original superhero, which already sets it apart. 'When it comes to whether this film will be better than other local hero films, it's not about being 'better,'' she said. 'It's about using our experience in filmmaking from all our other movies to elevate the quality of the story.' Jastina added that with every movie produced at Astro Shaw, the team aims to enhance every aspect—not just the marketing, but also the quality of storytelling and the overall entertainment experience offered to the audience. 'That's why we've said that with Keluang Man, it's beyond just a movie; it's an experience. 'I believe this is the first time a local superhero is offering this kind of experience to the Malaysian audience,' she said. Created by the late Kammaruddin Ismail, Keluang Man was a popular Malaysian animated series that aired from the 1990s to the 2000s. In 2022, a major collaboration was announced between Astro Shaw and Iconic Animation Studio, the owner of the intellectual property (IP) for Keluang Man, to bring the iconic hero to the big screen. Now part of the Astro Shaw Cinematic Universe (ASCU), and with just a month to go, the revival of Keluang Man is set to take the nation by storm, with fans eagerly awaiting its release.
