Nagpur: In a remarkable step towards ecological restoration, the Rotary Club of Nagpur Enclave, in association with the Orange City Stone Crusher Association and the District Mining Department, spearheaded a massive tree plantation drive in the Nagpur Mining Region.
The initiative, themed 'Unite for Good', saw over 3,000 saplings plnated in a degraded mining zone, known for its urgent need for green cover. District Governor Dnyaneshwar Shewale and PDG-MLA Sanjay Meshram graced the event as chief guest and guest of honour, respectively.
Led by Enclave chair Pooja Khatri and impeccably organised by PDG Sanjay Meshram, the drive featured eco-friendly native saplings like neem, peepal, banyan, karanj, and over 100 bamboo plants by Rotary Club of Nagpur North. Rotarians from multiple city clubs, along with their families, local citizens, and members of the mining association, participated enthusiastically. The plantation was carried out in well-prepared rows with proper spacing for optimal growth.
With banners highlighting climate action and dignitary support, the event set a powerful example of community-led environmental stewardship in disturbed regions.
