Nellore: A five-day Rottela Pandaga which began on July 6 at Bara Shaheed Dargah in the city successfully concluded on Thursday. According to official sources, more than 5 lakh devotees of all faiths from different parts of the country and abroad witnessed the 5-day event. No untoward incidents were reported in the mega event. Elaborate arrangements were made by the administration for the success of the event. Devotees in large numbers were seen exchanging Rottelu on the last day at Swarnala Cheruvu which was packed with people on Thursday. Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh, Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana, Minorities Minister NMD Farooq, Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakara Reddy etc have visited the Bara Shaheed Dargah during the five-day event. Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy along with his family members visited the Bara Shaheed Dargah. He picked up the Arogya Rotte at Swarnala Cheruvu and offered special prayers. On the occasion, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has thanked Collector O Anand, SP G Krishnakanth, Municipal Commissioner Y O Nandan and other departments officials for their initiative for successfully conducting the 5-day event.

Nellore: As part of ongoing Rottela Pandaga, devotees from all faiths thronged the Bara Shaheed Dargah and exchanged Rottelu at Swarnala Chervu on Tuesday. The railway station and bus stands were packed with devotees. According to official sources, about 4 lakh people witnessed the event. On Tuesday, there was demand for Udyoga Rette, Vivaha Rotte and Santhanam Rotte as the people were seen searching to pickup the Rottelu from the others who's wishes were fullfilled last year. On the other hand, devotees made a beeline to have darshan of tombs of 12 Muslim warriors at the Dargah. After having darshan of the tombs, devotees visited the Dargahs located in AS Pet mandal, Kasumur and Mupadu beech. The APSRTC is running special busses for the benefit of devotees. The devotees were seen purchasing different items, sweets, household articles, cloths, etc from the shops. Around 250 shops were established on the premises of Bara Shaheed Dargah on Tuesday. In view of heavy rush of devotees, police deployed adequate number of cops at Swarnala Cheruvu to avoid untoward incidents. Municipal Commissioner Y.O Nandan, Additional SP CH Soujanya and Nellore City DSP Sindhu Priya visited the Bara Shaheed Dargah and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

Nellore: HRD Minister N Lokesh said that the government has spent Rs 10 crore for providing infrastructure facilities to the devotees and to make Rottela Pandaga successfully. Addressing reporters after accepting Arogya Rotte at Swarnala Cheruvu on Monday, Lokesh said that despite severe financial crisis, TDP-led coalition government has been providing funds in a big way for the festival. 'I decided to accept Arogya Rotte, seeking good health for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu,' he added. Lokesh informed that 17 new persons will be inducted in the cabinet to take the State forward in all fronts. Ministers Ponguru Narayana and NMD Farooq, State Waqf Board Chairman Sheik Abdul Aziz, MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and others were present.

Nellore: A 14-member temporary festival committee was established to see the arrangements for the 5-day Rottela Pandaga, while Ministers P Narayana and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and district Collector O Anand have been conducting review meetings with the officials of all departments for the last one week. The event will be held July 6 to 10 at Bara Shaheed Dargah in the city. The officials are expecting more than five lakh devotees from all over the country and also from abroad to visit place. Collector O Anand has ordered the officials not to go on leave till conclusion of the event, i.e., till July 10. He directed irrigation department officials to ensure maintenance of enough water in Nellore Tank located in the premises of Bara Shaheed Dargah. SP G Krishnakanth issued orders regarding traffic regulations, parking places for vehicles coming from other districts and States to avoid traffic congestion. Police department proposed to install around 2,000 CCTV cameras in the surrounding areas of the Dargah and several number of police outposts to avoid any untoward incidents. Municipal administration will deploy 2,000 sanitary workers to clean garbage, while medical and health department is organising camps with ambulance facility. On Thursday, SP Krishnakanth, Municipal Commissioner YO Nandan, APSPDCL SE Vijayan and other officials visited the Dargah to check the ongoing arrangements. Commissioner Nandan said the administration will ensure provision of infrastructure facilities like drinking water supply, setting up of temporary toilets, maintaining proper sanitation etc in Dargah premises.

Nellore: Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana has stressed the need of coordination between all departments in the interest of successfully conducting 'Rottela Panduga which begins on July 6 at Bara Shaheed Dargah in the city. In the wake of government declaring Rottela Pandaga as a State festival, the Municipal Administration Minister along with State Waqf Board Chairman Shaik Abdul Aziz conducted a review meeting at Bara Shaheed Dargah here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, Narayana has directed the official machinery to act responsibly as lakhs of devotees from all faiths from all over the country and also from abroad would witness the 5=day event. Stating that 'Rottela Panduga' mainly meant exchanging of 'Rottelu' at Swarnala Cheruvu (Nellore Tank), he asked officials to concentrate on maintaining sanitation in a full-fledged manner. The Minister said that mobile toilets and temporary changing rooms for women devotees should be arranged at Dargah premises. The Minister said that it will be necessary to utilise pumping mechines at Swarnala Cheruvu to clean the garbage to avoid inconvenience to the devotees exchanging Rottelu at the place. He said that water in the Swarnala Cheruvu should be maintained in a clean manner in the interest of devotees having holi bath during the mega event. The Minister has directed the police officials to ensure installing number of CC cameras in the premises of Dargah to avoid thefts and other untoward incidents during the event. State Waqf Board Chairman Shaik Abdul Aziz opined that it would be difficult to organise the Rottela Pandaga successfully without coordination between all departments as more number of devotees are expected to attend the festival this year when compared to last year. On this occasion, Minister Narayana enquired about the department-wise arrangements being made on the premises of the Dargah. Nellore Municipal Commissioner Y O Nandan, officials from R&B, Electricity, Police, Revenue, APSRTC and others were present.
