Here's everything our readers added to their carts in June

Summer is officially here, which means our NBC Select readers have been stocking up on travel accessories, SPF and a ton of personal care essentials to look their very best, whether for an upcoming vacation, nights out or gatherings with friends and family. You'll notice our bestsellers list is full of sunscreens, and for good reason: This month, we launched our list of 100 best face sunscreens, which involved a six-week period of our editors powering through breakouts, sunburns and skin irritation while testing over 110 SPFs. But our summer-friendly (and heat wave-adjacent) product testing didn't stop there — we also rounded up our editors' favorite AC units, fans, deodorants and portable speakers, to name a few. Read on for a full list of the bestsellers NBC Select readers shopped in May. June bestsellers Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen $22.45 $28.00 Amazon Now 20% off $24.99 Ulta $24.99 Target What to know This Round Lab sunscreen earned the No. 1 spot on our list of 100 best face SPFs. It has a silky, creamy consistency and a subtle scent. 'As someone with sensitive skin who leans on the drier side, my favorite thing about the Round Lab formula is that it's genuinely soothing and feels like I'm wearing a thin layer of hydration on my skin — so much so, that I don't have to layer on my regular moisturizer,' says NBC Select editorial projects manager Rebecca Rodriguez. The sunscreen has niacinamide to brighten and calm skin, along with amino acids and minerals to reduce texture and inflammation, according to the brand. This viral tumbler is a favorite among our editors — you'll find it at nearly every one of our desks. I use mine every single day, and its stainless steel interior manages to keep my drink cold for hours (I'll even have unmelted ice in my water more than two hours after I poured it). Plus, I love that the bottom of the bottle is compatible with many cup holders, like the ones in my car and on my treadmill. Three Sun Bum sunscreens made our 100 best SPFs list, including this face lotion. It has a classic sunscreen scent, but it isn't overpowering and didn't make our editors' eyes burn. 'It blended into my skin, including the short facial hair I have, very seamlessly and didn't leave any residue around my hairline,' says NBC Select commerce editor Cory Fernandez, who notes this sunscreen is a reliable drugstore option. Many of our editors consider these their go-to whitening strips plus they're one of the only ADA-accepted teeth whitening strips to date. After using the strips a few nights in a row, NBC Select reporter Zoe Malin says her teeth look brighter and whiter, which she says is impressive since she drinks coffee and Diet Coke every day. They're easy to take out of the packaging and they fold over toward the back of your teeth, so they stay put over the 45-minute application period. Calling all Lego lovers: This giftable kit is the size of a small storage box and has enough space to hold all of its 484 pieces. The set comes with flat baseplates and cube-shaped interlocking pieces, small wheels for building trains and cars, pieces for making animals and more, all in 35 different colors. You can see everything you can build on the back of the box, plus it has inspiration photos for your creations. Dr. Jart+ is one of our favorite K-beauty brands, and this stick sunscreen primes the skin and blurs pores, which makes it a great option to apply underneath makeup. 'It goes on smoothly and doesn't leave my face feeling heavy or sticky,' says Rodriguez. 'And like its name suggests, this truly is an invisible sunscreen.' It's also not messy like other sunscreens, which makes it easy to apply and reapply throughout the day, according to our editors. While experts say plastic cutting boards are generally safe to use, they can cause microplastics to end up in your food. This cutting board is made from composite wood fiber, which is durable, easy to clean and good on your knives, according to experts in our guide to plastic cutting board alternatives. The non-porous board has a smooth feel and is double-sided, plus there's a hole to hang it from. This sunscreen has a rich, creamy texture and comes with a small scoop to not only help you avoid dipping your fingers into the tub, but also to indicate how much sunscreen you should apply to your face. 'As someone who often wears acrylics, not having to dip my fingers into the jar is such a plus. A con, however, is that there's no real place to put it once you detach it from the case,' says NBC Select editorial operations associate Jem Alabi. Merit's tinted sunscreen is closer to a foundation than most other tinted sunscreens on the market, and it instantly improves skin tone and texture, says Malin. It has a rich texture, but still feels lightweight, and it dries matte, so you can layer makeup on top without worrying about a shiny or oily base. It's also noncomedogenic and oil-free, which means it won't clog pores and is great for acne-prone skin. Cetaphil makes some of our favorite face moisturizers, cleansers and sunburn treatments. This lightweight moisturizer helps relieve dry, tight and rough skin thanks to ingredients like hyaluronic and polyglutamic acid, which help strengthen your skin's moisture barrier, according to the brand. The gel-like consistency absorbs quickly into the skin, and its oil- and fragrance-free formula won't cause irritation or clogged pores. If you're prioritizing fuller and thicker-looking hair this summer, consider this Ogx volumizing shampoo. It has a blend of biotin and collagen, which are naturally-occurring proteins in the body that help make your hair look thicker and have more volume overall, according to the brand. Reviewers love its subtle fragrance (notes of coconut, jasmine and lemon) that lingers in their hair post-shower. Another teeth whitening treatment our readers loved this month, these pre-filled trays (which you bite into) have professional-grade gel and are the strongest option we recommend. Our editors like that the tray format is easier to pop on and off than a traditional whitening strip, and they're comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. Malin considers this neck fan, which she wears around her neck like she would a pair of over-ear headphones, a must-have during the hot summer months. It's rechargeable, portable and has three airflow speeds, which you change by pressing its power button. The fan blows cool air toward you, and its bladeless design prevents your hair from getting caught in the openings. Plus, it helps keep your hands free to open doors, carry bags or run everyday errands. Why trust NBC Select? Here's everything our readers added to their carts in April

April is filled with the promise of new beginnings — flowers are blooming, trees are regaining life and most people are finally stowing away their bulky sweaters and coats. NBC Select readers were clearly inspired by the new season: Our bestsellers list this month is filled with cleaning supplies and sunscreen, an indication that we've officially settled into spring (and survived the woes of tax season). And with Mother's Day just around the corner, there was no shortage of dainty jewelry and fancy shower oils to round out our list. However, this April has come with heavy changes, so it's no surprise our readers were particularly interested in learning more about tariffs and how they'll affect their favorite brands, plus tips for saving money on nails, hair and more. Read on for a full list of the bestsellers NBC Select readers shopped in April. Want more from NBC Select? Sign up April bestsellers OGX Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo If you have fine hair, you know it's a daily struggle to make sure it doesn't fall flat. This shampoo has a blend of biotin and collagen, which helps hair look thicker and boosts volume overall. It also has a subtle fragrance with notes of coconut, jasmine and lemon, so your hair will smell good hours after your shower. Korean beauty brands are the 'It girls' of skin care, and Korean sunscreens claim their title as 'status' SPFs every year. Round Lab's silky sunscreen, a favorite of NBC Select Page Elliott Hyon, has a dewy finish, moisturizes your skin and doesn't clog your pores. 'It has no white cast and has the smoothest application out of any skin product I have,' says Hyon. In between carting the Crest 3D Whitestrips (another bestseller this month), readers were also purchasing this stain-removing toothpaste. And for good reason: NBC Select editorial director Lauren Swanson says her teeth looked visibly whitened in just a few days — so much so that her dentist thought she had gotten a professional treatment. It has hydrated silica, which dissolves the bonds that adhere stains to teeth and scrubs them off the surface, plus fluoride to protect your teeth from cavities and repair enamel, according to the brand. It's official: spring cleaning calls for grout removal. This Zep cleaner lightens grout in your bathrooms, making your tile floors and walls look almost new, according to NBC Select staffers who tried it out. Since this is a liquid and not a spray, a little goes a long way, too. A warning: The bleach scent is very strong, so make sure you're opening a window or have a fan going while you use it. Sunscreen was top of our readers' minds this month as the weather warms up. 'My best friend recommended this sunscreen to me, and I have been using it since (over 5 years),' says NBC Select reporter Harry Rabinowitz. The best part? As its name implies, it's completely sheer, so you don't have to worry about an unsightly white cast. L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil This shower oil is my current obsession; I use it every time I shower because it leaves my skin baby soft. The oil turns into a milky lather when I massage it into my skin, and I'll sometimes use it as a base for shaving in place of shaving cream. The sweet almond scent is also incredible and not overpowering in the slightest. Simply put, no other shower oil does it better. Opalescence Go Prefilled Whitening Trays Opalescence Go's whitening trays have professional-grade gel and they're the strongest option we recommend. Instead of strips, these are pre-filled trays you bite into, which makes them easy to pop on and off, says NBC Select editor Lindsay Schneider. Though they do cause teeth sensitivity, Schneider says her teeth are noticeably whiter after consistently using these trays. Olay is a household name for a reason, and this moisturizer even made our top 10 list of the 100 best moisturizers we tested. Our editors who tried it out found that their skin looked firmer and more lifted. It also has a super lightweight texture, so it doesn't feel heavy or sticky when applied to your face and neck. This Bumble and Bumble spray has six oils to hydrate your hair and protect it from heat and UV damage. But despite having oils in its formula, it doesn't weigh down your hair or leave a greasy finish, which makes it perfect for all hair types and textures. If you're looking for a thicker cream to lather on before bed, this Eucerin one is an excellent choice (especially if you struggle with dry skin). Its silky texture makes it easy to blend, and the formula helps smooth, hydrate and target fine lines and wrinkles, according to the brand. It's also fragrance-free, so it's suitable for those with sensitive skin. Better Not Younger Lift Me Up Hair Thickener Spray This month, we spoke to experts about how to combat hair concerns during menopause, and Better Not Younger, a hair care brand for women over 40, topped our list for the best products to use. You can apply this thickening spray on wet hair before styling to give you more volume and mask any thinning. Caretras Bunion Corrector Since spring is unofficially open-toed shoes season, you may be thinking about how to get your feet in tip-top shape. If bunions are a concern, this corrector temporarily realigns your bunion and helps relieve discomfort, pressure and inflammation. The splint is breathable and adjustable, so you can wear it while you walk or sleep. Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Conditioner This conditioner, which has hydrating cupuaçu butter, is a great solution for dry hair caused by menopause. In addition to hydrating your strands, it also helps control frizz and address dullness. Keep in mind this conditioner is best for those with medium to coarse hair texture since it may weigh down finer hair. SmileBelle Daisy Necklace If you're shopping for jewelry under $20 (or looking for an affordable Mother's Day gift), this dainty necklace is a strong contender. It has faux-pearl daisies on a delicate chain so you can embrace the spring season. It's adjustable, too. Innisfree is one of our favorite K-beauty brands, and its expert-recommended sunscreen is a solid choice for the hotter months. It combines green tea, sunflower seed oil and cica to hydrate, nourish and soothe the skin. Plus, its silky texture gives a great glow to the skin. Why trust NBC Select? I'm an updates editor at NBC Select who has covered a variety of shopping categories, including beauty and pets, since 2021. For this article, I compiled a list of the top 16 bestselling products among our NBC Select readers during the month of April.

What to buy at Jagalchi, the Bay Area's Korean mega food complex

Jagalchi has become an instant sensation and premier one-stop destination for authentic Korean cuisine and products. Catch up quick: The highly-anticipated 75,000-square-foot Korean food complex opened on March 28 with lines out the door at Daly City's Serramonte Center. The intrigue: The massive store, which is owned by the international chain Mega Mart, has a fine-dining restaurant called POGU, butcher counter, bakery, seafood market with an oyster bar, made-to-order cafeteria section, extensive pantry and drink aisles, Korean skincare staples, and specialty produce. It's filled with everything from freshly-made banchan, spicy ramyeon and marinated beef bulgogi to K-beauty sunscreens, varieties of dried fish and all the kimchi your heart could possibly desire. Fun fact: The store was named after a famous fish market in Busan. Here's what to try: 🍶 Alcohol: The store offers many Korean spirits that are hard to come by in the U.S., including Seoul Night plum soju and Red Monkey makgeolli, a rice wine and unique takes on beer, including a kimchi-sour brewed ale. 🧁 Bakery: Try the injeolmi rice cakes, or the cream-filled sulpang, a spongey gluten-free dessert that comes in different flavors, including strawberry and chocolate. 🌶️ Fermented foods: Try the house-made cucumber sobagi, jeotgal (fermented fish), or kimchi options. Or opt for one of many artisanal jangs — fermented soybean sauces — which are considered the building blocks of Korean cuisine. You may already know of one: Gochujang, known as red chili paste. Others include doenjang (soybean paste) and ssamjang, a combination of the two. 🥫Pantry staples: Endless options of instant ramen, rice varieties, spices, snacks, dried seaweed and specialty soft drinks line the store. 🍐 Produce: Fresh fruit abounds, with Korean pears and juicy jeju tangerines stealing the spotlight. 🦐 Seafood: Many types of fresh fish and shellfish, are reasonably priced, with striped bass ($8 a pound), red tilapia ($5 a pound), and golden pompano ($4 a pound) being among the most affordable. 🥩 Butcher: Choose from the wide selection of meats, which includes regional bulgogi varieties, specialty cuts, Japanese and American wagyu ribeyes. 🍲 Prepared foods: Packaged foods include freshly-prepared seafood pancakes called jeon, handmade mandu (dumplings), soy sauce marinated crab and tteokbokki, glutinous rice cakes bathed in a creamy and spicy sauce. 🧴 K-Beauty: Find everything from masks, sunscreens and moisturizers to cleansers, serums and more from brands like Round Lab, Anua, Beauty of Joseon, CORSX and Madagascar Centella. 💭 Our thought bubble: As a K-beauty fanatic and person who wears sunscreen religiously, Nadia was impressed with the types of products she found. Her favorites include BRMUD 's 2-in-1 mud mask and foaming cleanser, Round Lab 's moisturizing sun stick and Beauty of Joseon 's viral sunscreen — and yes, it's the original formula that the brand no longer sells to U.S. customers. Shawna is impressed with the wide variety of hot foods offered at such affordable prices. The $8 seafood pancake was on par with some high-end Korean restaurants she's been to! Also: they've got Korean pears, y'all. Those can be seriously hard to find in the U.S.
