Videos: Contradictions emerge in bail hearing of murdered Jayden-Lee's mother

Conflicting accounts of clothing and missing occurrence book (OB) entries came under scrutiny today during the bail application hearing of Tiffany Nicole Meek (31) in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court. According to the Roodepoort Record, Meek's defence attorney, Noven Naidoo, cross-examined state witness and investigating officer Sergeant Nceba Diko about the clothing Jayden-Lee Meek (11) was reportedly wearing on the day he went missing. Naidoo highlighted that the teacher, the day shift security guard at Swazi's Place, and Meek herself all gave differing statements about Jayden-Lee's clothing. 'My client informed me she helped him get dressed that morning. He was wearing grey long pants, a white shirt, a tie, and black takkies,' Naidoo told the court. A statement from Jayden-Lee's teacher at Royal College indicated he was wearing a red school tracksuit with a school badge and carrying his school bag. The day shift security guard reported seeing Jayden in a red school jacket with a badge and black shorts. Diko said he could not confirm what the child was wearing, as the descriptions were provided by individuals who had seen Jayden-Lee that day. OB entries from Swazi's Place were also submitted to court. The entries showed that the first report of Jayden's disappearance was made to the night shift security guard at 20:30 by unknown individuals. Meek reported the matter at 21:00, accompanied by police. Naidoo stated: 'The accused will say she spoke to the day shift security guard and that an entry was made in the OB. She gave him her phone number, told him she was going to the shop, and instructed him to call if Jayden returned.' Diko responded: 'There is no record of this in the OB.' Naidoo also questioned the officer about an alleged missing page from the OB, claiming that on May 14 – the day Jayden-Lee's body was discovered – Meek and her family noticed the page was missing when they attempted to photograph the book. Diko admitted he had not certified the OB copies submitted to court, citing workload as the reason for the oversight. The defence presented a Bolt receipt showing Meek travelled to Swazi's Place at 05:12, not 04:00 as stated by Diko. Naidoo said this detail had been deliberately omitted from Meek's affidavit to illustrate that she did not travel there at 04:00, as alleged. This timing further contradicted the OB entry provided by the security guard. Further questioning focused on the nationality of the security guards. Naidoo asked whether Diko had checked their immigration status. 'They are both Congolese nationals, and I did not check their status,' Diko said. When asked by the court about the relevance of this line of questioning, Naidoo argued that if the guards were arrested, they might not be available to testify. Before proceedings concluded, the investigating officer presented Jayden's school bag, which was found at Unit 13, where Meek resides. A schoolbook was then used to confirm that Jayden had attended school on May 13 and had written work for that day. The bail application is set to continue on Friday. Meek remains in custody. 'I didn't abuse my child': Jayden-Lee Meek's 'murder-mom'

Jayden-Lee Meek's mother, Tiffany, has denied widespread reports that she abused her son, whom she is accused of murdering. The 31-year-old has made headlines over her shock arrest and charges, with some even likening her to Kelly Smith, the mother of missing girl Joslin Smith. On Friday, 18 July, Tiffany made her second appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice, and crimen injuria. Tiffany is accused of fatally striking her son with a blunt force object on his head and concealing evidence. In an affidavit read by her attorney, Noven Singh, in court during her bail application, Jayden-Lee Meek's mother, Tiffany, claimed that she was being 'framed' for the murder of her son. Tiffany claimed that authorities and activists were unfairly comparing her to Kelly Smith, the mother of Joslin Smith, who was convicted of kidnapping and child trafficking in May. In much of it, Tiffany blamed the police for their alleged delay in filing a missing person's report, thoroughly searching the apartment complex, and condemning community members for not calling emergency services after her son's body was discovered the next day. Jayden-Lee Meek;s mother, Tiffany, made her bail application hearing in court on Friday, 18 July. She has been charged with murder, crime injuria and defeating the ends of justice. Images via TikTok: @tiffs_dunn She also blamed social media users for their speculation about what happened – and who was behind Jayden-Lee Meek's death. She said: 'I have already been tried, found guilty, and sentenced by social media subscribers. Without them even knowing of the state's case. 'There was a so-called private investigator who was trying to make me out to be an abusive mother and publicly announced that Jayden's school had complained about a history of abuse. 'I have never abused my child'. According to the anonymous investigator – who spoke to eNCA this week – Jayden-Lee Meek complained to his peers at Royal College about being 'starved', 'abused' and 'neglected'. Meanwhile, the Gauteng Department of Education has confirmed that it will investigate claims that Jayden-Lee Meek had confided in teachers and classmates that he was being abused at home. Earlier this week, officials visited the independent school, Royal College, to verify the claims. Department spokesperson said: 'Our preliminary report indicates that there is an element of truth to the said allegations. However, our team will continue to conduct its investigation. 'The department has a responsibility to ensure that all learners in Gauteng are protected'. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 . Women being hit hardest by NHS delays as treatment backlogs grow across key services

WOMEN are being short-changed by the NHS and make up most of the waiting list, official figures show. New data from NHS England show that 57 per cent of patients waiting for treatment are female while 43 per cent are male. 2 Women are waiting for 3.9million treatments, a million more than the 2.9m listed for men, while the remainder are uncategorised. Female patients also wait longer than males as statistics show they are less likely to be treated within the 18-week target time and more likely to wait over a year. Gynaecology, which looks after women's reproductive health, has the longest waiting list of any single department for working age people. Professor Ranee Thakar, of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said: 'This data is a vital step in addressing the postcode lottery in gynaecology care. 'Delays can lead to a need for more complex treatment and significantly impact women's health, wellbeing, and daily lives. 'We know that our members are working tirelessly to deliver more appointments and so it is encouraging to see waiting lists begin to fall in recent months.' Overall, the NHS figures show patients living in working class areas, and those from black or Asian backgrounds, are more likely to face long waits. In a blow to the economy, 56 per cent of waiters are of working age – more than 3.5million people, with many unable to work while they wait. Ear, nose and throat clinics have the biggest backlogs, with 616,000 procedures due to be completed. Ophthalmology and gynaecology both account for over 500,000 each, while cardiology and dermatology both have waiting lists of more than 400,000. Wes Streeting brutally slams Kemi AND Farage and demands Tories say sorry for how they ran the NHS in blistering attack Sharon Brennan, of National Voices, said: 'Being honest with the public is an important step to winning back the trust of communities who often feel unheard and sometimes unwanted.' Health Secretary Wes Streeting said: 'Only by being upfront and shining a light on inequalities can we begin to tackle the problem.'

He also confirmed there was some truth to the allegations. 'Indeed, there is an element of truth to the said allegations; however, our team will continue to conduct their investigations. Evidence analysed by forensic experts reveals Jayden-Lee was killed in his home. His body was only found the following morning near the house on the staircase. At the time, his body was clean, warm, and several abrasions were visible. She is expected back in court on Friday, July 18, for bail information and her attorney to come on record.
