Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, received Ou Boqian, Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, at his office in the Ruler's Court. Sheikh Ammar welcomed the Consul General, wishing her success in her diplomatic mission and expressing hope that her efforts would contribute to further enhancing the friendly relations between the UAE and China across various sectors. The meeting highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the two countries, with both sides discussing ways to strengthen collaboration, particularly in the trade and tourism sectors, which are supported by deep-rooted historical and cultural connections between the two peoples. Ou Boqian expressed her sincere gratitude to Sheikh Ammar for the warm welcome and hospitality. She also praised the strategic partnership between the UAE and China, and commended the significant progress and development witnessed in Ajman, especially in the tourism and economic fields. Several officials attended the meeting. Separately, Sheikh Ammar received Jean Christophe Paris, Consul General of the French Republic in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, at the Ruler's Court. Sheikh Ammar welcomed the French Consul General and discussed the strong and long-standing relations between the UAE and France, as well as ways to enhance cooperation across various fields. The discussions focused on expanding strategic collaboration in key sectors, building on the solid foundations of friendship and shared aspirations for progress and prosperity in both countries. The French Consul General and the accompanying delegation expressed their sincere appreciation to Sheikh Ammar for the generous hospitality and warm reception. The French delegation praised Ajman's ongoing development and highlighted the emirate's growing potential as a hub for business success across all sectors. The meeting was attended by several Sheikhs and officials. Recently, Sheikh Ammar visited the UAE Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Japan, which is being held from April 13 to October 13, 2025, under the theme 'Designing Future Society for Our Lives.' He was briefed in detail about the UAE Pavilion's offerings, which narrate the story of the country from its rich heritage and authentic culture to its pioneering innovations in space exploration, healthcare, and sustainable technologies. Accompanying Sheikh Ammar on the tour were Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD); Sheikh Rashid Bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, Vice President of Ajman Sports Club; Dr. Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, Director-General of Emiri Court; Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of Ajman; Yousef Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Protocol and Hospitality Department; along with a number of senior officials. Sheikh Ammar emphasised that the UAE's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka , Kansai, reflects the nation's capability for leadership in technological innovation. He stated that the pavilion serves as a comprehensive platform for cultural and economic exchange, fostering sustainable partnerships with other countries and embodying a shared future vision. Upon arrival at the UAE Pavilion, Sheikh Ammar was received Shihab Ahmed Al Faheem, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Japan and Commissioner General of the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. He accompanied Sheikh Ammar on a tour to explore the pavilion, which is 'Earth to Ether.' The Pavilion blends tradition and innovation in both content and architecture. Inspired by the UAE's iconic date palm, the structure reinterprets traditional areesh architecture. At its core stands a dramatic installation of 90 soaring palm rachis columns, reaching up to 16 metres in height. Sheikh Ammar stressed that the UAE's participation fosters cultural exchange and promotes its rich heritage and values. He pointed out that the significant turnout at the pavilion—more than 250,000 visitors within two weeks—demonstrates the global appeal of the Emirati experience. WAM

The exhibition is the largest of its kind in the UAE and the region, organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It features over 500 exhibitors and more than 1,800 top designers, manufacturers, and specialists representing major global companies in watches, gold, gemstones, and rare jewelry. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi toured the exhibition, viewing the displays and designs, and listened to detailed explanations from exhibitors about their products and innovative techniques in crafting and design, as well as the latest trends in the gold and jewelry sector. The Deputy Ruler also visited local and international exhibition platforms, including Emirati designers showcasing contemporary interpretations of Emirati heritage in gold and unique designs. Spanning a total area of 30,000 square meters, the exhibition serves as an ideal platform for deals, partnerships, and insights into design trends in the gold and jewelry markets. This edition sees participation from exhibitors from Russia, Mexico, Tanzania, and Egypt, alongside leading companies from the UAE, India, Italy, the UK, the US, Singapore, China, Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Lebanon, showcasing exclusive designs for 2025. This year, the exhibition also set a new Guinness World Record for the longest diamond necklace, measuring 108 meters, made from over 600 lab-created diamonds and 18-carat rose gold. A series of specialised programs and workshops will be held alongside the exhibition, offering participants the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge about recent developments in the global jewelry industry. Accompanying the Deputy Ruler during the opening were several officials, including Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other prominent figures.

Etihad Rail passenger train service in 2026: Free WiFi, stations, travel time; all you need to know

The UAE's national railway project, Etihad Rail, is set to launch its passenger train service in 2026, marking a significant milestone in the country's transportation infrastructure. This development was revealed during a meeting hosted by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, and a delegation from Etihad Rail at Al Dhanna Palace. The Etihad Rail undertaking is one of the country's largest transportation projects. And it is on the verge of transforming travel across the UAE through an extensive railway network. Although 2026 is the launch year, the exact start date is yet to be revealed. It is anticipated that, once operational, the service will accommodate around 36.5 million passengers annually by 2030. What cities will be connected by Etihad Rail? The railway network will span approximately 900km, connecting 11 cities and regions across all seven emirates. Designed to enhance connectivity, reduce travel times, and promote sustainable transportation, the project is a significant step forward in the nation's infrastructure development. Key cities connected by Etihad Rail include:​ Abu Dhabi Dubai Sharjah Ras Al Khaimah Fujairah Al Ain Ruwais Al Mirfa Al Dhaid Ghuweifat (bordering Saudi Arabia) Sohar (Oman, via the Hafeet Rail project) Where will the Etihad Rail passenger stations be located? The high-tech passenger rail service network extends from Al Sila to Fujairah. Authorities have already announced two locations of the passenger stations. The first one will be at Sakamkam in Fujairah, and the second one will be in Sharjah, University City. Other potential station sites include areas near the Jumeirah Golf Estates metro station in Dubai, and in Abu Dhabi, the station will likely be along the pipeline corridor between Mussafah Industrial Area and Mohammed Bin Zayed City, between Dalma Mall and Mussafah bus station, adjacent to Phoenix Hospital.​ New high-speed train linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai However, a new high-speed electrified line connecting Abu Dhabi to Dubai will feature six stations at Reem Island, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Zayed Airport, close to Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai and Jaddaf, near Dubai Creek. The project will enable seamless connectivity between the two emirates, significantly reducing travel times. The high-speed train will transport commuters between Abu Dhabi and Dubai in just 30 minutes, reaching speeds of up to 350km/h. The route will pass through key strategic destinations and tourist attractions, ensuring seamless travel for passengers and visitors. Etihad Rail will oversee the development and operation of this project. Fast and far-reaching One of the standout features of Etihad Rail's passenger service is its speed. The trains will operate at speeds up to 200km/h, reducing travel times for residents. For instance, journeys from Abu Dhabi to Dubai will take just 57 minutes. Travel time for passenger trains: Travel luxury UAE's passenger trains will have swanky coaches with stylish interiors and comfortable grey seats. The rail passenger service flaunts an aerodynamic design, a key feature of high-speed trains. Each train will accommodate over 400 passengers across first, business, and economy classes. Amenities include free Wifi, infotainment systems, charging stations, ample legroom, and advanced air-conditioning. The coaches, in silver and grey, have different types of seating. Similar to the flight class, the seats are arranged in a 2+2 format across the coaches. Compartments are separated with electric doors, and TV screens display information, such as location and arrival times, in each section of the train. Scenic routes of UAE passenger train The train will consist of 15 luxury carriages passing through the cosmopolitan cities, nature destinations of Fujairah, with its mountains bordering Oman, and the Liwa desert, with its world-famous oasis, near Mezeiraa train station. The journey will offer a one-of-a-kind travel experience. Door-to-door passenger train service Etihad Rail plans to offer a door-to-door service for passengers, ensuring hassle-free connectivity from the train stations to their final destinations. The railways will be integrated with all modes of transport and shared mobility solutions. There will be public transportation available to a passenger's final destination be it their home, place of work or a tourist spot. Global partnership Etihad Rail has partnered with several international companies to enhance its passenger services. Notably, agreements have been signed with firms such as SNCF International, Alstom, Progress Rail, and Thales Group to develop advanced ticketing solutions, real-time passenger flow management, and intelligent traffic operations. Etihad Rail is more than a new way to get from one location to another. It is an investment in the UAE's vision for smart, sustainable urban living.
